Chapter 1 - Fire In The Sky

Evermoon World, Silvaron Continent, Valeria Nation, Stockholm State, South Terraxon City...

A busy city whether day or night, despite the fact that it housed the military headquarters of the Valeria Nation.

Building structures and skyscrapers of immense heights could be seen everywhere, along with people shuffling through the streets minding their own business.

Terraxon City, as a front figure of the Valeria Nation's military, is well renowned and also serves as a holy ground for youths who aspire to become ranked military personnel and protect the lives of the nation's citizens.

It was currently daytime, and different sounds echoed through the city, ranging from vehicles to the large screens visible on the buildings; even the suburbs and alleys were laced with resounding music from club houses and pubs.

Within one of those pubs sat five figures chatting around a table. Of the five figures were three stout-looking men and two women.

One of the women, a red-haired beauty, said with a laugh as she sipped her cocktail. "Congratulations on your promotion, Brayden... or should I say Master Sergeant Brayden? Hahaha..."

Hahaha!~~

The red-haired's words invited a round of boisterous laughter from the others.

The fellow referred to as Brayden was a rather bulky man with a buzzcut and a goatee. He nodded his head and then said with a sparkle in his eyes, "Hehe... Let's stick with Brayden; after all, I wouldn't have come this far without you guys." He paused for a moment and then continued with his glass raised as he glanced at them, "Anne, Ashley, Roy, and Jay, let's make a toast to our long-lasting partnership... Cheers!"

Cheers!!

Clink~~

"So Anne, how're you going to spend your holiday? Any major plans?" Brayden asked as he glanced at the red-haired beauty.

"Uhmm... No major plans for now, but I might make a trip down south to check up on my parents. It's been awhile since I saw my parents." Anne replied with a touch of nostalgia.

"That's right, it's been awhile since I saw mine too." Ashley added. She had blonde hair, above-average facial features, and possessed a proud air about herself.

"Yeah... Our previous recon mission to the Drakenshire Empire took way longer than expected. It's been over a year now." Jay nodded his head, taking large gulps of beer as he chipped in.

He possessed a muscular frame and also featured a buzzcut and had a dark complexion. His most prominent feature is an eye patch that failed to conceal the glaring cut across his left eye.

"C'mon Jay! Don't remind me of that trip to the north. I almost died a few times, you know." Roy, a blonde-haired dude with a less muscular frame than the other men, grumbled with a hint of fear in his eyes as he recalled their previous mission.

"Hahahaha... Stop being a scaredy-cat, Roy. Don't forget you got balls; you best hone'em tight." Jay guffawed, almost spilling his beer in the process.

Hahahaha~

Brayden, Anne, and Ashley chortled along as Jay pocked fun at Roy.

"Humph!" Roy harrumphed in dismissal on seeing their reactions.

"Okay..okay... Enough of the teasing. Roy might blow up anytime soon. Hehehe... Huh!" Brayden chuckled and then paused midway as his gaze was drawn to the window on the left side of the pub.

Startled, Anne quickly asked, "What's wrong?"

"Look out the window," Brayden replied without moving his gaze as he fixedly stared at the window, or rather, the scene outside.

Upon hearing that, they all turned toward the window. Staring at the scene outside the pub, every single person inside the pub released gasps of astonishment as they stared agape at the otherworldly scene.

Outside the pub and beyond the Silvaron Continent, every single soul on the planet of Evermoon stared in astonishment.

The day sky, although bright from the sun's gaze, bursts into a spectacle of fiery brilliance. The skies suddenly ignite with vivid shades of crimson and gold, casting an otherworldly glow across the landscape.

As the sky continues to burn in a crimson-gold hue, the air suddenly becomes charged with energy that permeates the world. It felt like the sun was getting ever closer to the planet Evermoon.

The environment begins to slowly heat up. It was a very slow, even miniscule process, but those with sharper senses could feel it.

The first hints of the rising temperature are subtle; dew on the grass and leaves evaporates, leaving them dry and shimmering under the day sky.

"What the fuck is that? Am I seeing things right now?" Roy clamored, asking what was on everyone's mind right now.

"Things are not looking good right now, Brayden." Ashley said with a slight crease on her brows.

Brayden nodded solemnly, but before he could speak, something shocking happened.

The midday skies over the Evermoon World lit up in flames as a meteor enveloped in its golden barrier entered the atmosphere, creating a blazing trail of light.

The golden barrier shimmering with otherworldly energy pulses as it begins to breach the planet's atmospheric defenses.

The meteor punches through the atmospheric barrier with a deafening roar, leaving a shockwave of energy in its wake.

The golden barrier around the meteor glows brighter, absorbing and deflecting the atmospheric friction, making its descent even more fearsome.

As the meteor descends, it heads straight for the lush, dense expanse of the Aldrin Rain Forest, located south of the Valeria Nation. The forest, known for its vibrant biodiversity, is suddenly under threat.

The meteor crashes down with cataclysmic force; it releases a tremendous explosion, amplifying the force of the impact.

The ground quakes violently, and the sound of the collision reverberates like a colossal thunderclap, echoing across the land.

The point of impact is utterly obliterated, with a massive crater forming instantly. Trees, some centuries old, are torn from their roots and flung like matchsticks.

The explosion sends a towering column of smoke, fire, and debris soaring into the sky, directing a dark shadow over the region. Animals scatter in panic, and a massive crater forms at the impact site.

The explosion sends plumes of smoke and debris skyward, and the once serene forest is transformed into a scene of utter devastation. The initial shockwave ripples outward with unimaginable force, flattening everything in its path.

The dense vegetation of the Aldrin Rain Forest is reduced to a scorched wasteland within moments. The shockwave travels rapidly, spreading destruction across more than half of Evermoon World.

In the nearby cities within the southern Greensville State, buildings tremble and windows shatter as the shockwave hits. Infrastructures within the state were met with the devastating catastrophe.

People are thrown off their feet, vehicles exploding into bits and pieces, and structures collapse under the sheer force. The sky darkens with ash and debris, and the air fills with the acrid smell of burning vegetation and earth.

Even in lands far from the impact site, the ground shakes. Rivers change course, and mountains groan as they absorb the seismic energy. The entire planet feels the meteor's wrath, with aftershocks continuing to ripple through the crust.

Even the oceans are not spared.

Massive waves are generated by the seismic activity, causing tsunamis that crash against coastal regions. The marine ecosystem is thrown into chaos, with waves traveling far and wide, impacting shores that are thousands of miles away.

The explosion sends vast quantities of dust, particulates, and greenish matter into the atmosphere, creating a thick layer that begins to spread globally.

This greenish matter blocks sunlight, leading to a sudden and dramatic drop in temperature, a phenomenon similar to a nuclear winter.

The once clear skies of Evermoon World are now filled with a greenish matter, a dark swirling mass of smoke and ash.

The sun is obscured, casting an eerie, dim light across the planet. The air becomes difficult to breathe, laden with soot and fine particles.

In towns and cities, panic ensues. Those alive rushed to find shelter, protect their loved ones, and understand the magnitude of what had happened.

Emergency services are overwhelmed, and communication lines are flooded with distress calls. Animals, both in the forest and beyond, react with instinctive terror.

Birds scatter in flocks, animals stampede in a desperate search for safety, and the delicate balance of ecosystems is shattered.

Unfortunately for all, this was just the beginning.

At the impact site, a few kilometers surrounding it were now reduced to scorched wasteland. But surprisingly, within the massive crater filled with debris, something extraordinary begins to happen.

A soft, golden glow emanates from the center, growing brighter with each passing moment.

Slowly, a perfectly spherical object, a golden pearl, rises from the crater. It hovers, suspended in mid-air, radiating an intense, otherworldly light.

The golden pearl ascends gracefully, leaving the destruction below. It rises higher and higher, floating into the sky above the shattered landscape. As it ascends, the greenish matter and remnants of the meteor's original barrier begin to coalesce around it.

The greenish matter intertwines with the golden glow, creating a fascinating, swirling effect. As the golden pearl floats amid the greenish matter, it starts to pulse strangely.

The rhythm of the pulsing quickens, and the light intensifies, casting eerie, shifting shadows across the ruined forest. The greenish matter seems to come alive, reacting to the pearl's energy, and begins to pulse in synchrony.

The air becomes charged with an overwhelming energy, a noticeable tension that seems to grip the entire landscape. Animals that survived the initial impact begin to stir uneasily, sensing the imminent explosion.

The sky, already darkened by debris, flickers with the strange, pulsating light. Without warning, the golden pearl and the greenish matter explode in a burst of blinding light.

The explosion is both beautiful and terrifying, a radiant display of golden and green energies mingling and clashing. The shockwave that follows is immense, rippling outward with an unstoppable force.

The shockwaves sweep across Evermoon World, carrying with them a strange, transformative energy. This energy interacts with everything it touches, mutating lifeforms in bizarre and unpredictable ways.

Trees and plants start to twist and grow at unnatural rates, their forms becoming alien and unrecognizable. The flora begins to mutate rapidly, with plants growing tendrils, developing bioluminescent features, and changing colors unpredictably.

Animals both domestic and wildlife undergo grotesque transformations, even insects, gaining new appendages, altering in size, or exhibiting new, strange behaviors.

Humans caught in the shockwave feel an immediate, unsettling change. Some develop unusual physical characteristics, like glowing eyes or strange skin patterns.

Panic and confusion spread as people struggled to understand and control these new mutations.
