Once inside the room, Sabrina released a breath she hadn't realized she was holding and she went about freshening up. As she got ready for bed, her mind kept circling back to that familiar name in the comments.
Once she was done, she sank onto her bed and pulled out her phone once more, feeling a strange mix of suspicion and curiosity tugging at her.
She contemplated chatting up the acquaintance whom they both seemed to have in common, but she resisted the urge to do so. The last thing she wanted was for Alex to find out that she was asking questions about him. With a resigned sigh she closed the app and rested her phone beside her as she lay back, staring up at the ceiling, her mind racing.
Alex was dangerous, that much was clear. But whether he was dangerous to her heart or to her sense of self, she wasn't sure. All she knew was that the walls she had built so carefully were beginning to feel just a little too thin.
