Before they followed the guard, They bit farewell and thanked each others for helps. They had to go through sensors security and leave their things there. The guard said, they would get their things back when the process was done. He took them inside a big building filled with soldiers. Inside their were people doing many paperwork, scanning data and providing help to people who needed.
Inside a room filled with advanced technology, Yuna and David were found sitting in the chair. Infront of them was the guard that had brought them there. He had already scanned and tested their race, gender and everything. Yuna had bypassed the equipment with her advanced Demon AI capabilities. Now the result was both of them were human.
The guard looked at them with his serious veteran face. "Let me introduce myself, my name is Henry Morse. I am a knight of the kingdom, guarding the border city of Refone. What are your names? Where did you come from?" He asked, introducing himself.
"I am David and she is Yuna. We came from the west and stumbled with those elves. It was only thanks to them, we found about the kingdom that was not affected by the catastrophic event and prospering." David said hiding his nervousness. Being Infront of this Henry fellow was very hard for David.
"Oh, from the west? What about the others, family or friends? It can't be just the two of you." Henry asked.
David and Yuna made a sad expression, "We lost everything, when we were kids. It's just Yuna and I managed to survive. Ever since that day, we stuck with each other, caring, supporting, and surviving in the Wastelands." David said made up story that was almost like the real one except being together since childhood.
Seeing their sad faces, Henry changed the topic, "I understand. Now tell me something, did you see anything in the sky, flying few hours ago?" Henry asked.
Henry's question caught them off guard. They had used camouflage in the spaceship. They had believed no one could find them because of the camouflage and distance but they still got detected by kingdom. It showed, kingdom technology was better than Yuna and David had expected.
Hearing Henry's words David's heart skipped a beat in panic. Sweat started to come in his forehead with nervousness and fear. Yuna managed to contain herself from showing any reactions after initial surprise.
She observed David and seeing he was about to mess up, she answer. "We did not see anything. We were busy saving our hides all this time. What was it anyway, was it a mutated bird monster or something else?"
David calmed himself after hearing Yuna lying so flawlessly. He promised himself to be better at this kind of things for the both of them.
Henry observed David for a bit then he shook his head. "Forget it. I am more curious about your powers. You say you came from the west and survived all this time. Then you must be strong. Follow me, let's take a lookat your power." He didn't ask any more about the flying object. He asked them to follow him to test their power.
They followed him to the next room beside the room just they were in. As they entered, they were expecting to see the power testing capsules. The ones that they had used to test their rank in the Genesis BioLab. To theirsurprise, there was not even a single machinery or equipment inside the room. The room felt quite calm without any noise. In the middle of the room, there was a Orb of white lolor, placed in a small table.
"This room is where we test power of superhumans who doesn't have identity cards made, just like you." Henry said and observed the dumbfounded expression they had looking around the room. He continued. "That orb over there is the used for measuring ones power. You go and place your hand on the orb." He said to David.
Just as David placed his hand on the orb, the orb started shining. After some time the orb came back to normal and there was C rank written in the air above the orb like holographic image. "Not bad, young man. You have almost reached the B rank." Henry said impressed.
David returned, now it was Yuna's turn but she was reluctant to do the test. If it was machinery/equipment, she would have managed to hide her rank but here she would be exposed. She feared, It might become a cause for the trouble for them. David gave a knowing smile and said. "It's ok. Whatever happens, I am here with you."
Seeing David smile and hearing his words, she felt relieved. She understood his meaning, he was saying they could just run away if anything happened and find other ways. They were together in this. Yuna moved forward without worries and placed her hand in the orb. The same effects happened again but this time color was different. As the special effects dead down, the result was on full display.
Henry was looking at the result with his his eyes and mouth wide open in shock and surprise. He didn't expect to see a stranger coming from outside to be that strong in his wildest dream. Yuna was S rank like the test in tha BioLab, there was no changes in that.
She returned to David, "It seems, nothing has changed. The capsules in the BioLab are legit." She whispered to him.
They looked at Henry, seeing his expression, David called out. "Are you all right, Mr Morse?"
"Hmm, sorry about that. I got distracted." His expression returned to his usual strict veteran persona. "Your name is miss Yuna right. I can see how you managed to survive the Wastelands now." He said respectfully to Yuna.
Henry was about to continue what he was saying, the door opened by someone. They turned their head and show there was a man in his 40s entering the room. "Henry, you didn't scare them or anything right? I came as soon as I heard about them from those little elf girls." He said to Henry scolding.
"Why would I do anything to them? I was just checking their rank for ID. You can ask them if you don't believe me, Kevin." Henry said with wronged expression.
"Knowing you, it's not hard to guess that you would try to intimidate newcomers." Kevin said and observed David and Yuna. He asked, "He didn't try to make things difficult, did he?"
"No, he didn't. He has been good to us and helped us with the tests. " They told him.
"It doesn't sound like him. He is just a punk who uses his power to show-off and scare newcomers." He said staring Henry. "Are you done with everything here?" He asked.
"Don't talk bad things about me, I have always been a good person. And yes we are done with the test." Henry was frustrated by Kevin's remarks. "They are Yuna and David. They came from the west." He said.
"I know,I know. I don't need to tell me. The girls told me everything." Kevin stopped Henry from saying more. "My name is Henry Rimnal. I am the incharge of this place." He introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you, Mr Rimnal." They greeted him.
"You can just call me Kevin. Since you are done with everything here, come with me. I will show you around." He said smile on his face. "As for you, make their id and bring it to my home." He ordered Henry.
They left the building and walked through the streets. The place was filled with advanced buildings, beautiful and clean roads. There were robots to assist peoples in need. Kevin explained the things around them and about the peace and prosperity the kingdom had. According to him, the kingdom was saved by their God. Their God had given to their ancestors a artifact that helped them survive by creating indestructible barrier around the whole kingdom walls.
If it was before David would have just shrugged it off. But now it was definitely possible for them be helped by a god because they exist here. Whatever the truth was it didn't matter anymore anyway. There was no safe place except this that they had found. So decided to not comment on whatever he said.
Some time later he took them in a big restaurant. They went upstairs through the lift. Kevin said them, he had booked a room for them to have a meal. There to their surprise, they found the elf girls sitting inside. They were talking with each other in lively manner, their giggles filling the room. When they saw David, Yuna and Kevin coming, they stood up, "We meet again. How was the security thing?" They greeted.
"It was not that bad, we finished early and came here with Kevin. You don't seem surprised, were you waiting for us? Kevin didn't inform us, about you all being here." David said, both happy and surprised seeing them there.
"Yes, we came and booked the room for lunch for us all when we got the message from uncle Kevin saying he was bringing you two here." Kaya said with a smile.
"Huh, is he your uncle? I don't see the resemblance."David and Yuna asked surprised.
"Yes, my mother is his sister. Technically saying I am an half elf and half human." She said.
"That why I brought you two here to show my gratitude for saving my niece and her friends." Kevin said with a thankful expression.
"You didn't have to trouble yourself. We are also thankful to them for bringing us here." David said.
"Forget about those things, come here and sit with us. We can talk while eating." Sona said and dragged them inside.
