It was the first time Lee had seen Rin like this. At this moment, Lee saw Rin as a cold-blooded beast.
"Jin, come with me," Rin said. "I want to talk."
"No Jin don't," Lee said. "No one is going with you unless you explain."
"Lee," Rin's voice dropped. "You're going too far."
"That's you," Lee said.
"Do you think you can win against me at your current stage?" Rin said.
"Oh?" Yel said. "You think you can win against an Acquaintance with your 0 damage fireballs?"
"Ran Rin," Yel said. "Hmph, or should I call you Ran Qingcheng An. Don't you feel tiring to fake your voice to be so high."
"How do you know," Rin, or An, said in her original hoarse voice. "I guess it can't be helped."
An sprinted and morphed into the shadows in the classroom.
Jill lifted her hand and made a snatching motion.
An stumbled out of the shadow.
"Hmph," An smirked. "Fighting with a Shade Acquaintance sure isn't easy, but I can beat you ahahahahaha."
An morphed back into the shadows, however, she wasn't snatched out by Jill's skill this time.
"Ahahahaha," her laugh echoed in the room. "Let's fight you with your own skill."
Jill cursed, "How is this possible?"
"It's not," An's voice sounded behind her. "I'll take Jin for some afternoon tea, laters!"
Yel sliced through the air at An. He wasn't able to do anything earlier as An wasn't visible.
Yel sprinted after the slash towards An and jabbed.
"Too slow," An disappeared, but left behind a sentence. "Remember little Yel, light is always faster than wind, same goes for the shade."
"Darn it," Yel said. Both of his strikes missed. "What do we do? Jin's kidnapped."
"I don't know…" Lee said. "We have to rely on Jin's hidden class to be greater than Ri-, I mean An's."
"Do we know how An fights?" Jill asked. "How did she avoid my snatch? The Shade is my area of speciality." Jill was doubting herself.
"Joker's Clone, S Grade talent," Wu said. "She can pick one target and mimick their abilities, skill level, and stats."
"How do you know?" Lee asked.
"My skill, Absolute Calculation," Wu smiled. "Don't worry, I couldn't calculate Jin, which means she's hiding something."
"My calculation also said," he continued. "If I can't calculate it, An can't clone it."
"What Acquaintance are you?" Yel asked. "Why are you so absolute!"
"Time," Wu said. "Time is always absolute."
…
"Rin…" Jin said while she was being held by An, travelling through shadows at the speed of light. "What are you doing?"
"I'm An, as you heard," An replied. "Jin, I'm not going to hurt you, you're my only friend from that pile of losers. I will help you get stronger."
"Then why do you have to take me by force," Jin asked. "I'm weak compared to the others."
"No, Annie," An said. "I was there when you were born."
"What did you call me?" Jin asked, bewildered.
"15 years ago," An said. "Annie Suresa, you were born in Sura, as the daughter of the princess, the next successor in line after your mother."
"What?" Jin said. "I'm Xue Mengtong Jin, born in Aokulan, Xin Hunaland, Daughter of Xue Xiongkuan Fei and Kun Heibei Yuan."
"No, 15 years ago," An said. "When the dimensions crossed, we were swept away in the dimensional turbulence. I'm your twin sister, Annie. I'm Alice Suresa."
"Aha," Jade's voice sounded in Jin's head. "That makes sense now. How did that girl find out?"
"How did you find out about this," Jin, now Annie, repeated Jade's question.
"He told me," An said. "The master, you will meet him soon."
"You will become strong," she continued. "We are rejected of being Overseers, but we can take the other paths. It is just as strong."
"THE LOST MAGIC OF SURESA!" She screamed.
"No," Jade said. "It can't be. I personally sealed it away 100 hundred years ago. She doesn't know you're an Overseer?"
"Why were Wanderers rejected from becoming Overseers?" Annie asked in her mind. "Why was I an exception?"
"The dimensional turbulence 15 years ago should have swept your natural talent away from you, but it didn't happen for both of you."
"Normally, you would be trained from the start, with me, as an Overseer, and Alice, who was naturally talented for being a Shadow's Clone, would get a talent reset process."
"This process is costly and normally not done, but she was a princess, so it was different."
"We sealed the magic away because it was too evil, we had to get rid of all talents related to it."
"But her, she has awakened it fully now. We might need to kill…"
Jade's voice faded.
"If it can't be helped," Annie thought. "Let's see what she's going to do with me."
