Chapter 37: Peaceful Time
"Let's stop daydreaming and try out the art first." he exited his room and visited the nearby Adventurer Guild to register with Athena.
Soon, their registrations were completed. Loki planned to test his new art on the training dummies. However, Athena was adamant about exploring the city.
"It's not every day you get a chance to interact with the beastmen tribes," she argued, dragging Loki along with her.
They first visited a museum that mostly contained statues of their previous leaders and their achievements.
Athena, aware of Loki's blindness, described each statue's achievements with enthusiasm.
They just like to boast about themselves a bit too much, which was kinda ironic glancing at those statues.
Anyway, after the museum they visited a giant waterfall.
Its name was Diana Falls. It stood at a staggering thousand meters in height and overflowing with crystal clear waters.
They dipped their feet near the waterfall, enjoying the peaceful scenery.
"How peaceful and romantic." Loki thought peeking at Athena's face.
"Urghh… Damn this curse!!"
Loki's mood soured so they left the waterfall, heading towards a nearby lake.
The lake was huge, spreading far towards the horizon. They rented a boat, floated lazily on the water, and roamed around the lake.
It was very relaxing and peaceful gazing at the clear blue sky on a boat. Loki took out a fishing rod and tried catching some fish to impress Athena.
He carefully placed the bait and patiently waited for any movements. He could pick a fish using his skills but that was no fun.
So, he patiently awaited while Athena was sunbathing and taking a nap. The lake had no magical creatures so it was safe.
All the mental exhaustion from continuous battles was completely gone and they felt rejuvenated.
ting
Loki sensed some movements near his fishing rod and swiftly appeared before it.
He took the rod and pulled it upward.
An almost two-meter-long fish jumped away from the waters landing right on the deck.
Loki excitedly caught the fish and presented it before Athena. She smiled at him and inquired "What will you do with it?"
"I wanted to cook and taste it since it was my first time catching a fish but I can't taste it so I'm gonna just let it go." He replied, picking up the fish and throwing it back into the waters.
"Loki, I think we should return to Elvenia and inquire about the cure for your curse from the elves," Athena suggested feeling bad for him.
He nodded, already planning to visit them. He wanted to see if the reward from trials could help him against this curse.
He had put some hopes on the SoulBlood but his expectations were quite low considering the curse being very powerful.
If not for his [Sensory Field] skill, he would have to either seek help from the elves without any certainty or seek help from his parents. And that was his last resort.
Clearing his deep thoughts, Loki focused on enjoying the moment. He sat beside Athena, her presence soothing.
"Yeah, I was planning to visit Elvenia, Maybe we could go together?" He purposed.
"Sure, I can't abandon you since it's partly my fault too." she accepted, expressing her guilt.
"Don't worry, I can't let a beautiful lady like you suffer now, can I?"
Pffft
A soft chuckle escaped her lips as gazed forward. The sun was slowly setting down, enveloping the world in darkness with starry sky and beautiful moonlight.
They returned to the dock and exited their boat. Both of them had fun and enjoyed exploring the Beastia City.
As the night appeared, They approached a new restaurant and filled their stomachs.
Loki was more sad about losing his sense of taste than his vision. He was getting a bit desperate over time and longed for a proper meal.
He forcefully stuffed down the food and exited the restaurant after paying the bills. They walked together below the starry sky, having a sweet conversation.
The City was illuminated with street lights and the market buzzed with activity.
They passed by the market doing a little bit of shopping. Athena helped Loki choose some of the dresses while Loki just enjoyed her company less interested in the clothes themselves.
Although blind, he used his skill and picked some accessories for Athena. He gifted them to her expressing his gratitude.
Though reluctant, Athena took the gift glancing at Loki's face. He was smiling ear to ear like a helpless lover.
They ended the day by having an ice cream together. Loki bid goodnight to Athena and entered his room.
He was pleased with his progress against Athena. Their relationship was blooming and slowly starting to change from a mere friendship.
As he lay in bed, Loki fell asleep with a smile. Even in his dreams, He was having a romantic date with Athena.
