Training Room
In the center of the room, two figures stood facing each other. One was a young man, his stance poised and ready, clutching a wooden sword. The other, a towering figure with an air of calm confidence, had his hands casually in his pockets.
swish
A soft breeze flowed through them, indicating the start of the battle.
boom
I sprinted towards Father and swiftly landed a vertical slash on him.
ting
The wooden sword struck straight at William, who nonchalantly took his right hand out and blocked it using his forefinger.
"Is this all?" He mockingly asked, making me furious as his words belittled my three years of hard work.
I jumped back, maintaining some distance, then took a deep breath.
fuu

swish
I disappeared and instantly appeared behind William.
slash
I performed a horizontal slash, which he deflected effortlessly. I had anticipated this, so I followed up with a kick aimed at his jaw.
"Hoh?!" He dodged my kick and flicked his finger right at my forehead, sending me crashing to the floor.
haah haah
I shakily stood up, still holding my sword.
"Damn it, old man," I muttered curses in my mind.
A sudden chill down my spine alerted me, and I ducked just in time.
swish
William appeared before me and flicked his finger, almost touching me.
I rubbed my forehead, still feeling the lingering pain from before.
[Grimheart Reinforcement Sutra: Tendon Strengthening]
I tightly gripped the hilt of the sword and performed countless slashes towards him.
He blocked everything perfectly without breaking a sweat while I was drenched in sweat.
creak
Various cracks appeared on the wooden sword, and its durability continued to decrease with each passing second. I realized that he wasn't just blocking my attacks but was trying to destroy my sword.
I continued to attack him while overloading my brain to find a solution.
"Hmm?!... I could do that." I muttered as a crazy idea formed in my head.
The sword's durability chipped away until it was on the verge of destruction.
smash
The sword broke apart, its pieces scattering around the ground.
"Now!" I yelled as I stamped on the ground, producing a cloud of dust.
[Grimheart Reinforcement Sutra: Bone Strengthening]
I swiftly appeared before him and threw a punch straight at his gut.
pak
I watched helplessly as my fist was caught in his large hand.
"You've improved, Son. You exceeded my expectations with that last attack." William exclaimed as he softened his grip, letting go of my hand.
"Continue to improve. Become stronger. Remember, the world only respects the strong." William left the room, whispering the last part.
phew
"That was intense. Intensely thrilling, that is." I chuckled and stood up, ordering Bella to prepare the bath.

The awakening is tomorrow. I don't have anything to do today. I'm both bored and excited thinking about it.
Hmm… I've completed my physical training, so the mission should probably be completed tomorrow.
Deceitful System, huh… Just the name sounds shady. If it's overpowered, then fine. But if it's one of those where you have to grind till death just for a slight increase in strength, then I can't be asked, man.
This world is way more dangerous than I thought. I still can't believe I would have died to that assassin three years ago if I wasn't the chosen one.
I continued to whine as I made my way toward the bathroom.
"That hits the spot... Ohhh…" I moaned, feeling the cold water.

Library
The history surrounding this world is quite a mystery. I tried searching everywhere but couldn't find a proper explanation of it.
Most of the information was either lost or incomplete. All I got was some data regarding some of the races surrounding us.
Most races in this world are intelligent species, so the relations between other races and humans are not bad, except for some malicious races.
There are also other powerful beings in this world. I don't know much about them, though.
sigh
My brain is already hurting just thinking about it. Let's just meet Kiara and play with her.
---
"Yayyyyy! Brother, tell me a story!" Kiara's joyful shout echoed through the halls as she spotted Loki. She barreled into him, her small arms wrapping around his legs.
"My little princess, how much energy do you have? Aren't you tired?" I laughed, lifting her into his arms. Her laughter was infectious, a bright spot in his day.
"Story! Story!..." she chanted, giggling cutely.
Man, it's times like this when I enjoy myself and clear my depressing thoughts.
"Alright! Alright! Calm down."
Amelia entered the room quietly, her smile warm and affectionate as she watched the playful exchange. "Kia, how about I tell you a story today?" she suggested, her voice soft and inviting.
Kiara's eyes lit up, and she wiggled in Loki's arms. "Yes! Mama, tell me a story!" she squealed.
We enjoyed a happy family time together, but something felt missing.
"Tch... Damn, that old man, always busy with his work," I thought, a flicker of frustration crossing my features. But I pushed it aside, focusing on the here and now, cherishing the fleeting moments of happiness with my family.
