Chapter 6 - Awakening

Today is a significant day for the Grimheart household. The young lord of the family, Loki Grimheart, is set for his awakening, and the entire household is abuzz with preparations.

While everyone else was busy, Loki was enjoying quality time with his little sister, Kiara.

"Hehehe... Stop doing that, brother," Kiara laughed as Loki tickled her.

"Hehehe..."

knock knock

"Young Master, the time has come." A calm voice echoed from the door. Loki cringed at those words.

"Bella, you sound cringe," Loki responded as Bella entered the room in her professional maid outfit.

"But you told me to—"

"Let's go then. Kia, see you later." Loki stopped Bella from finishing her sentence as he waved goodbye to Kiara and left the room.

Bella bowed slightly to Kiara and hurriedly followed me.

William and Amelia stood together, discussing various matters as they waited for their children. Loki approached them calmly, holding Kiara's hand.

Everyone looked exceptionally stunning today. William and Loki wore well-crafted blazer suits, while Amelia and Kiara donned beautiful gowns.

"Let's go," William announced as they moved towards a nearby portal.

By the way, the technology in this world is very advanced. There are Teleportation Portals (TP for short) that can transport you to a designated location. They also have communication orbs similar to mobile phones and crazy Ilusion magic that could simulate reality like a VR.

He felt a bit weird entering the portal, but it wasn't as nauseating as others described it.

When he stepped out of the portal room, he was instantly mesmerized by the view outside.

In front of him stood a grand tower that stretched towards the endless skies. It looked ancient and fascinating, with inscriptions and prehistoric text etched on its walls. People in weird outfits with long witch hats and pristine robes went in and out of the tower.

Loki's mind felt calm and clear just standing outside the Tower. It was an exhilarating feeling.

He broke from his reverie when he heard his mother's soothing voice.

"This is the Tower of Eden," Amelia explained, her voice filled with pride. "Only those with a thirst for knowledge are permitted here. It has stood since the prehistoric era. Your awakening will take place inside, under the guidance of the tower master.".

"What's this refreshing feeling I get from this tower, Mom?" Loki questioned while teasing Kiara.

"Since the tower has existed since the prehistoric era, it mutated and received a blessing from the world. The concentration of Eden here is much higher compared to other places. That's why you feel refreshed when you get closer to the tower." Amelia educated him.

[The history of this world will be explained in the next chapter, so stay tuned.]

We stepped inside the tower and were teleported in front of a person. She had ash grey hair, golden eyes shining with deep wisdom and a youthful face. She wore a silver robe and a purple witch hat. The aura around her was soothing and calm.

Without speaking, she nodded and led them towards a door at the back of the chamber. William and Amelia greeted her with respectful bows before following her through the door.

She opened the door and entered, with us trailing behind.

"Sit in the center and feel the Eden from the surroundings." Her gaze fixated on me as her ethereal voice filled the room.

Loki subconsciously nodded and walked towards the center. His parents stood at the edge of the room, watching him with worried eyes. Kiara was not with them as she was too young for this.

fuu

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and started spreading his senses. He slowly felt his connection build up with the surrounding Eden particles and guided them toward his heart. As the particles entered his body, ge felt exhilarated.

A tense atmosphere surrounded William and Amelia as they intensely watched him.

swoosh

Suddenly, Loki disappeared. One moment he was there, the next he was gone, leaving behind only a faint shimmer of Eden.

Amelia's eyes widened in panic. She instinctively reached out with her senses, searching for her son.

"Don't worry. He's in a safe place," the tower master said, easing Amelia's worry.

"Where is he, Lily?" Amelia asked respectfully.

"In God's domain. Some gods provide blessings to talented individuals by teleporting them to their domain. Although it's exceptionally rare, it's not unheard of," Lily replied, hiding the fact that it had been centuries since anyone had received such a blessing.

Amelia's face showed complex emotions as she pondered the consequences of this phenomenon. She was happy for him, knowing he would become more powerful. But there is a saying, "Great power comes with great responsibilities." She worried about her son's future.

---

"Open your eyes, child." A majestic and graceful voice echoed as I swiftly opened my eyes. I panicked slightly upon finding myself floating in empty space but soon calmed my nerves. It wasn't the first time I'd experienced something strange. I turned around looking through the empty space filled with infinite stars and galaxies.

"Hmm?!... Interesting," the voice mused behind me.

"Who are you?" I asked, following the voice.

"I have many names. Some call me The Forgotten One, others The Playful One. But most know me as The Deceitful One," the figure replied, a hint of nostalgia in its voice.

"Okay… so, any reason you called me here?" I asked solemnly, realizing I might be in the presence of a divine being.

"I was a powerful being during my era. I had a playful nature, so I played pranks on many gods to pass the time. Some were annoyed, while others became frustrated by my pranks. Later, they teamed up and tried to annihilate me. They failed, of course; I wasn't called The Deceitful One for nothing. I deceived everyone into thinking I was dead, but I wasn't. I was in a near-death state, so I used all my powers to create a divine artifact and perished afterward. Later, the artifact got bound to you.

"Now that the artifact has awakened, others will be notified that I have an inheritor. They will search for you to destroy you, fearing my retaliation. But fret not; the artifact can deceive their perception. You just need to become stronger. I will inform you more after you become worthy enough." The voice grew dimmer until it completely disappeared.

I sighed, realizing I had been thrust into a battlefield far beyond my league, with no way to back out.

swoosh

Loki reappeared in the awakening room, the transition smooth but jarring. He was met with the concerned faces of his parents, their relief palpable.

Before he could fully process his return, a new shock awaited him, one that nearly made his heart stop.
