Eva smiled back, feeling a sense of peace and contentment washing over her. She knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, she could face them with courage and confidence, knowing that her grandmother was always there to support her.
Just as Eva was finishing her dinner and went to her room ,the doorbell rang. Her grandmother got up to answer it, and Eva heard her chatting with someone in the living room. A moment later, her grandmother called out, "Eva, it's Daniel and Ruth! They're here to see you."
Eva's heart skipped a beat as she jumped up from the bed. She rushed into the living room, where Daniel and Ruth were sitting on the couch, looking like they were bursting with excitement.
"Hey, Eva! We have some amazing news!" Daniel said, holding up a flier. "We found out about a scholarship exam to the most prestigious school in the country! We should totally give it a try!" Daniel said. "It'll be an amazing opportunity for all of us! We'll be able to learn from the best teachers, make new friends, and experience things we never thought possible. Just imagine us, studying together in a beautiful library, or exploring the school environment"
Ruth nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, we can study together and support each other. We'll have so much fun exploring the school, joining clubs, and making memories that will last a lifetime. And who knows, maybe we'll even discover new talents or interests!"
But Eva hesitated, her expression doubtful. "I don't know, guys... I've heard how people from poor neighborhoods are treated badly in schools like that. I don't want to be a target for bullying or discrimination. I'm happy with my life here, and I don't want to take the risk of getting hurt. Plus, I don't know if I'm smart enough for a school like that."
Daniel and Ruth looked at each other, concerned. They knew Eva's fears weren't unfounded. They had heard the stories too, about how wealthy schools could be cliquey and exclusive. But they also knew that Eva was an amazing person, with so much potential and talent.
"Eva, you're one of the smartest people I know," Daniel said. "You're always curious, always asking questions, and always eager to learn. And you're so talented, too - remember how you won that art competition last year? You have so much to offer, and this school would be lucky to have you."
Ruth nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Eva, you're an incredible person, and you deserve this chance. We'll be right there with you, every step of the way. We'll study together, explore the school together, and support each other through thick and thin."
Eva's grandmother, who had been watching the conversation from the kitchen, stepped in. "Eva, sweetie, I understand your concerns, but sometimes you have to take risks to achieve great things. And I'll be here to support you every step of the way. I'll help you with your homework, attend parent-teacher conferences, and cheer you on at every achievement. You're not alone in this, Eva. We're all in this together."
She walked over to Eva and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "You're a bright and capable young woman, and you deserve this chance. Don't let fear hold you back. Embrace this opportunity and show them what you're made of. You never know, you might just surprise yourself and discover a whole new world of possibilities."
Eva looked up at her grandmother, her eyes searching. She saw the belief and encouragement in her grandmother's eyes and felt a surge of determination.
"Okay, Grandma," Eva said finally. "I'll do it. We'll do it together."
Daniel and Ruth cheered, relieved and excited. The three friends hugged each other, grinning from ear to ear.
"We're going to crush this exam!" Daniel exclaimed.
"And we're going to do it together!" Ruth added.
Eva smiled, feeling a sense of belonging and purpose. She knew that with her friends and grandmother by her side, she could overcome any obstacle and achieve her dreams.
Together, the three friends sat down to start planning their study schedule, their excitement and anticipation building with every passing moment. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but they were ready for the challenge. They were ready to take on the world.
