If you're uninterested in going through practically basic stuff about the MC, I admonish you to skip to the next chapter. Do not worry, it will not affect your knowledge of the character much.

Grrrrng

The alarm clock rung. An extremely fair hand lazily punched the snooze button. The tall body laying on the bed that was nearly incapable of fitting it's entire length, turned over to the other side in a lazy manner.

Yue Tian was unwilling to awake from his beauty sleep. It was such a beautiful morning, there were no sounds outside, the air was cool and the sun hadn't risen. What was the need to wake up?

He lay and snored like a pig, uncaring about the consequences of doing so.

The alarm clock like an angered chicken came blaring through his daydream again. He snorted and placed his fair, slender and feminine hands over his ears. He didn't want to stand up.

He closed his eyes tight to continue sleeping but to his dismay, and as sickening as it was, reality was reality. He couldn't just keep sleeping like the CEO of some huge conglomerate.

The alarm clock rang out again like a mad dog, but this time was instantly silenced by Yue Tian's quivering hands.

He got up from his bed and made his way to his bathroom. He entered the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. He looked at his reflection in the mirror.

His name may sound Chinese but he didn't look Chinese at all.

The person staring at him was about 21 years old. Tall, skinny and extremely fair. He had reddish brown hair and his fringe was messy. He had a pair of big deep yellowish green eyes and thin lips. His eyes were heterochromic; there was a ring of yellow around his iris, and around the yellow was a ring of green. His nose was tall and he had freckles across his nose bridge and upper cheeks. He was quite handsome.

He admired himself for a few more minutes, before he grabbed his toothbrush and fiercely brushed his teeth. He rinsed out his mouth and took a very quick shower.

The smell of eggs wafted through the air and the crackling sound of oil could be heard. In less than ten minutes, he had wolfed down half a loaf of bread and three eggs. It was quite shocking how his small mouth and body had managed to bear it.

He cleaned out the dishes and left his apartment. He hailed a taxi.

"Zhongzu district." Came his very simple command as he entered the taxi.

He took out his phone and opened his Weibo. Instantly, his phone buzzed with tons of notification dials and messages.

[Li Xiaohei has done it again!]

[Our Xiaohei honey never misses out on an opportunity to surprise us. Look what she did this time.]

[Xiaohei Jie we will follow you to the end. Mwah.]

He browsed through the websites booming with Li Xiaohei's name. Apparently, she had managed to make a debut with a very famous mysterious artist, Nobody, who never revealed his face. Only his voice was known. She had a song with him where he had been present, but was putting on a mask. Anonymous photos had also been taken of her walking in and out of hotels and restaurants with the masked ninja.

A lot of gossip was that they were dating and you know, all that drama. It was the top trending topic across all websites.

Yue Tian rolled his eyes at it. People were clearly crazy. Yapping about something that really wasn't important.

Amongst the madness of society, many of his friends had contacted him. Over the week, he had been offline. Not because he was so tied up, but simply because he was uninterested in talking to anyone.

Messages piled up in a heap.

Yue Tian wasn't exactly the extroverted person who was friends with every person, but neither was he antisocial. He had his fair share of friends and colleagues. So, a week was enough for 68 unread messages to be waiting for his attention.

He sighed and started replying the messages one by one. Even the ones which had lost their purpose over time.

[Tuesday 4:09pm, Hey, could you grab me a packet of sugar on your way home?]

He laughed at it. Tuesday was six days ago. He simply read it and didn't reply.

"We're here." The taxi driver said snapping him out of his thoughts.

Yue Tian gave him some extra directions and soon, he was standing in front of a tall building. The taxi drove away, leaving a screech of tyres in the air.

Yue Tian wasted no time to walk in. He checked in, and took the elevator to his department.

He worked in the marketing and sales department of the company.

No-one had come. It was still quite early in the morning though. He checked his watch. It was 6:45am. People usually came in at 7.

He took a seat at his desk and turned on his computer. The company was planning to launch a new product in half a month's time. It was at this point that the marketing and sales department's job was most crucial. Their director had been on their necks for weeks, telling them what would happen if anything went wrong.

Of course, everyone knew why.

The exclusive model for the new skincare product that was being launched was Li Xiaohei.

The director was quite young, in his early thirties or so. He took a liking to the extremely rude and petty Li Xiaohei, trying everything to please her, although she didn't spare him a glance.

Last three months, during her shoot, she had mischievously walked over to the marketing and sales department and casually said that she couldn't afford modelling for a product that wouldn't sell.

Ever since then, the director had been acting like some crazed dog, hollering on and on about how he would fire anyone who caused the failure of the project. Although, as a director, he couldn't just casually fire anyone, he still had some power. So the employees at the marketing and sales department knew how to meekly obey without complaining.

Yue Tian was rapidly tapping away at his keyboard. Just last week, the production team had announced an additional product that was supposed to come along with the original product.

This had caused great disharmony, and the marketing and sales department had to adjust their initial schedule.

Since the additional product incurred extra fees, which could affect demand, they had to reorganize their sales plan. They then decided to sell the product without the add-ons for the first three months of market penetration and later add the peripheral.

This of course affected the sales budget, but the CEO had no problem with it and increased the allocated revenue for the product.

Yue Tian was currently working on a project that followed up with the advertising department's plan.

He drafted the work sample.

For the first three months of market penetration, much work needed to be put into the product. He went through a list of dermatological hospitals and patients who would find the new products useful. He also went through a number of online forums to determine potential buyers for the product.

This was partially the job of the research department, but he took it upon himself to do it.

After writing down a whole full page of phone numbers and addresses, he started working on the general sales plan.

It had been about 20 minutes.

Someone else walked into the room. A female.

"Hello, Yue Tian." She greeted first.

"Hello." He replied without raising his head.

There were no further words as the room resonated with the sound of keys being tapped and swiveling chairs.

Soon, the room started filling up. And the day started up with the low chatter of business.

Lunch break.

Yue Tian remained at his desk working.

"Yue Tian, always working. Don't you tire out?" A voice taunted above his head.

"I'm uninterested in getting fired, unlike someone." He said without raising his head.

The person must have felt offended, because the next second, he was whacking his head with a ruler.

"Hey, raise your head when I'm talking to you."

Yue Tian grunted and raised his head to meet a pair of black sheepish eyes.

"Oh, your face scares me. You look so American. Who did your mom sleep with, Donald Trump?" Shen Mingze said in his goofy annoying voice.

"Shen Mingze, what do you want?" He asked calmly.

"Shen Mingze, what do you want?" he mimicked with a funny face. "I want you to come have lunch with me."

"I already ate. Thank you." He said and with that he lowered his head back down, not listening to any of Shen Mingze's stupid words anymore.
