Nearly a month had passed since Annie's capture, yet the result remained unnerving. Encased in an azure crystal, she lay in a deathlike sleep in the depths of the underground, untouched by the passage of time. Though the Scouts held her in custody, she was beyond their reach, sealed in her haunting slumber.
Meanwhile, Eren Yeager had become a beacon of hope. The locals now hailed him as their savior. Some even began to worship him, captivated by the legendary accounts of his fearsome berserk form.
Meanwhile, Erwin had been summoned to the capital, his thoughts consumed by the looming threat of execution. The devastation in Stohess weighed heavily on his conscience, and he fully expected the king to punish him for such a destructive plan. Yet, the king's decision shocked everyone.
It was simple: retake Wall Maria with Eren Yeager, and wipe out every last Titan. The people had come to understand that Eren was not their enemy, but a protector willing to sacrifice himself for their sake. Still, a shadow of doubt lingered among those who had witnessed his trial with Zachary.
However, the greatest setback was Eren himself. A month had passed, and still, there was no sign of him waking up. After the doctors treated Mikasa's injuries, they were left baffled by Eren's condition, unsure of how to help. What they didn't know was that Eren's fate lay in his own hands.
Within the Paths, he had chosen life over death, and though his body began to heal slowly, it soon slipped into a coma, drained of the energy needed to recover fully. For the past month, injured Mikasa had been at his side, caring for him relentlessly, ensuring his survival.
She spent hours every day tending to his body. She made sure he drank enough water, afraid his overheated body—constantly steaming as it healed—might succumb to dehydration.
She prepared meals rich in vitamins easy for his unconscious form to digest, determined to help his body recover from the burns and damaged tissue. It was as though she were caring for a living corpse.
Pushing herself to the edge of exhaustion, she refused to rely too much on Levi, Petra, Armin, or the others who offered help. She needed to see for herself that Eren would make it through.

Year 835
30th March
Dream
Wall Maria~ deep in a forest
Eren's cries echoed through the wooden house as his mother cradled him close, her sapphire eyes brimming with tears. The weight of her husband's selfless decision to give Eren away to the Yeagers crushed her heart.
Both parents, aware of their impending doom, wanted Eren to live a normal life—far from the haunting realities of the Ackermans and the Titans. It was an ironic twist, considering how different his fate would ultimately become.
That's what Karen thought unaware of the plans her husband—Eren Kruger had locked away in the depths of his heart for an entire year.
Infant Eren clung to his mother, his small hand wrapped around her shaky index as his cries continued.
"I... I'm sorry, Eren..." she whispered, her voice cracking. "I wish I could've stayed with you forever..." She pressed her lips against his cold forehead, holding him closer, rocking him in a gentle rhythm.
Kruger, who had just sent Kenny off, stood nearby, his emerald eyes mingled with sorrow. His heart was heavy, knowing that tomorrow Karen will part ways with their son.
Slowly, he approached the bed and pulled her into his arms, pressing her head to his chest as she cried uncontrollably, still holding Eren tightly.
"I'm sorry... Karen... But it's for the sake for Eren." Kruger whispered, fighting to hold back his own tears, trying to maintain a strong demeanor— Karen's thoughts were clouded leaving Eren and Kruger's thoughts were filled with the unsettling agony of ruining the future of his son just like he did with..... Zeke.
Karen shook her head in disagreement, her voice fragile as she replied, " I know and I understand...." Suddenly her blue eyes locked into Kruger's green orbs," Darling you... You... You'll visit me right? When... When....I'm gone to the underground..." Her face was etched with sadness.
"Even if I'm destined to die... I want to die in your arms," Karen said softly, her words breaking Kruger's heart. He leaned in and kissed her, their lips meeting in a bittersweet moment of love.
"Don't worry," Kruger whispered, pulling back slightly, his voice gentle. "Once I've safely given Eren to the Yeagers, I'll come back to you... I promise."
Karen blushed, a faint smile crossing her face as their gazes fell on Eren. "And you, little guy... you'll come visit us soon, right?" she said, her smile warm as Kruger tenderly brushed his fingers against Eren's soft cheek.
"Mm... I will, Mom... Dad..." a voice replied, soft and tearful. It was Eren. A single tear rolled down his face.
"Asshole! Get off me! What the hell are you doing, you damn idiot?" Levi cursed, jolting Eren back to reality. Eren, who had been unconscious for the entire month, had finally woken up—clinging tightly to Levi, who had been sitting beside him.
"Eh? Ahhhhh!!" Eren screamed, realizing the awkward position he was in—his head pressed firmly against Levi's chest, arms wrapped tightly around him like he was never letting go. He sprang back to his bed in a panic. "You fucking gay! What were you doing to me?!"
Levi glared at him, visibly irritated. "What? Me? Asshole, you were the one crying like a little bitch and out of nowhere, you latched onto me!" he snapped, before landing a solid punch right to Eren's gut.
Levi had actually imagined their reunion being something heartfelt, maybe with a little appreciation to Eren—that had been the plan. But of course, Eren had to screw it all up.
"Damn it... I just woke up! Is that how you treat me?!" Eren groaned, clutching his stomach, still reeling from the punch.
"Stop whining dickhead, you did this to yourself. " Levi shot back, leaning back into his chair as sunlight filtered through the misty window, casting a glow over Eren's confused face. Small wisps of steam rose from his skin as his body worked to heal.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Eren asked, his face blank with confusion, which only made Levi's irritation spike as a vein bulged in his forehead seeing Eren act all innocent.
Since Eren had gone berserk, his mind had been foggy, almost like that of a mindless Titan. His thoughts were still hazy and hadn't quite caught up to reality.
Before he could remember anything, Levi punched him again as face pressing against the mattress as he groaned in pain as the punch knocked his scattered thoughts back into place.
"You seriously don't remember, fuck face? How you used the berserk form. You were playing with Annie like she was a toy instead of ending it quickly?" Levi snapped, clearly pissed.
"Damn," Eren muttered, finally getting up.
"And why the hell did you transform, huh? We specifically told you not to—both me and Erwin restricted that form!" Levi's fury burned hotter, but Eren wasn't backing down.
"Uh-huh, and how the fuck did you plan on capturing that stupid hoe Annie without it, huh?" Eren shot back, matching Levi's energy. The two of them were practically snarling at each other.
It was ironic—Ackermans were supposed to be calm and composed to maintain their abilities, yet these two were barking at each other like mad dogs.
Sigh...
"Whatever..." Levi grumbled, sinking back into his chair, letting the argument die.
"Doesn't matter anymore, does it?" Levi muttered. Eren nodded, knowing full well that the attack on Stohess had been mostly pointless. The casualties, the destruction—nothing gained except chaos.
Leaning against the wall, Eren asked, "What about Annie? Got anything useful out of her?"
Levi shook his head with a huff. "Nah, the bitch has been sleeping the whole time. I doubt she's waking up anytime soon. Shattering that crystal would probably kill her, and keeping her like that is just a waste. Don't know why Erwin's still holding onto her like some kind of twisted souvenir."
"He probably has something in mind... I'll ask him soon," Eren replied, though his thoughts were elsewhere. His mind kept drifting to the dream he'd had. What was that just now?
A faint smile crept onto his face as he recalled it—his mother, his father. Up until now, he'd doubted they truly loved him. But seeing them cry, smile, and love him in that sweet memory was enough to dissolve those doubts.
"The hell you smiling at? You look like a total idiot," Levi grumbled, his eyes narrowing at Eren.
Eren just nodded, trying to brush it off. "It's nothing... Don't wor—"
Before he could finish, the sound of shattering glass and clattering plates filled the air. Both Ackermans whipped around toward the noise. Standing in the doorway were Mikasa and Petra, their eyes wide with disbelief, with tears starting to well up.
"Ereh...?"
