Utgard Castle
2 Days After The 57th Expedition
The moonlight cast its eerie glow, filtering through the shattered windowpane and illuminating the weary, haunted faces of the Titan shifters—Bertholdt Hoover, Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhart, Zeke Kruger and Pieck Finger.
The cold air that lingered within the crumbling walls of Utgard Castle seemed to mirror the dread etched into their expressions. Shadows flickered ominously as the group sat huddled together, trapped in their shared fear beneath Wall Rose.
Annie, struggling for breath, finally broke the oppressive silence. "War Chief, what are we supposed to do now? You've seen how powerful the Ackermans are." Her voice trembled, exhaustion leaking through. "I never thought humans could be this strong." Zeke said.
Bertholdt utterly confused asked," War chief before I transformed I felt like Eren had possession over my titan. I don't know what but for a moment I felt like my powers weren't mine." Zeke nodded, whose eyes were already fixed on Reiner.
Zeke's expression was sharp, his thoughts clouded with suspicion. "And you, Reiner... what happened to you out there?" His voice, thick with accusation, was as cold as the stone around them.
Reiner, pale and hollow-eyed, clenched his fists. "He controlled my Titan... just by muttering a few words. I don't know what happened to me." The bitterness in his tone was unmistakable —Eren's power had cut deeper than any wound, shattering whatever was left of Reiner's pride.
Zeke leaned forward, his features darkening as realization struck him. His voice lowered, almost like he didn't want the words to exist. "It's because…" He hesitated, the weight of what he was about to say hanging heavy in the air. "I'm afraid Eren possesses the Coordinates."
"WHAT?!" Pieck's sharp voice sliced through the tense air, shattering the fragile calm. The others gasped, eyes wide with shock and disbelief.
Annie's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. "You're one twisted son of a bitch," she muttered under her breath, though a bitter grin crept onto her face. Her voice, though laced with venom, dripped with grudging respect.
Zeke without paying any attention to her words thought to himself cursing his dad," So, that was your plan all along, wasn't it? Killing the true king of the Walls and passing that power to someone on the inside the walls."
Zeke chuckled darkly, his lips curling into a faint, bitter smile "It all makes sense now... every piece. My shitty father passed the Attack Titan and the Founding Titan to Eren due to the Curse of Ymir. He accessed the Founder's powers just by touching me. That's the whole reason he controlled us, all of us..." The room felt smaller, the air thicker, as if the weight of his realization had fallen upon them all at once.
For what seemed like an eternity, silence enveloped the group, broken only by the erratic breathing of Bertholdt, his body drenched in cold sweat. His voice was barely audible as he spoke, "War Chief... you might be right."
Reiner, still visibly shaken, added in a hoarse voice, "It all connects now. When Eren commanded me, it was like a shock coursing through my veins. I wasn't in control anymore. I... I bowed to him. My Titan wasn't mine for that moment."
Annie, Pieck, and Bertholdt shared uneasy glances, the same confusion and fear reflected in their eyes. They, too, had felt something—an unsettling force none of them could fully explain.
"What do we do now, War Chief?" Annie asked, her voice strained, almost pleading. She hesitated for a moment, then added, "I never thought... never in a million years did I imagine Eren possessing the Founder's power."
Pieck, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke, her tone uncertain but searching. "War Chief... correct me if I'm wrong, but the Founder's powers should be useless if the wielder isn't of royal blood, right?"
Zeke nodded, his expression grim. "That's true. But... it doesn't matter now. There are other things we need to worry about right now." he said, his voice trailing off ominously. The shadows seemed to deepen around him as he continued. "When I made contact with Eren... I was able to access some of his memories. It seems he already knows who the Female Titan is, Annie."
The room grew colder, the silence even more suffocating than before. Zeke's gaze darkened further, his next words like ice. "It's just a theory... but if I'm right, while passing through Stohess, the Scouts might ambush you, Annie."
The weight of his words pressed down on them all, like a noose tightening around their necks. The distant, hollow hooting of an owl echoed through the ruined castle, heightening the suffocating stillness. Annie's face went pale, her voice barely more than a tremor. "What...?"
"How's that even possible?" she whispered, her disbelief as fragile as the broken glass littering the floor.
Before anyone could fully recover from the shock, Zeke's lips curled into a rare, twisted grin that filled the cold air with something dark, something dangerous. "Let them come," he said, his voice low but dripping with malice. "Let them attack you... because that's when they'll dig their own graves!"
"Eh?" Pieck, Zeke's closest comrade, tensed at the ominous shift, sensing something massive lurking behind his words. "What do you mean, War Chief?" she asked, her usually calm demeanor faltering.
Bertholdt, equally confused, exchanged uneasy glances with the others. "Yeah, what do you mean?" he asked, mirroring the same bewilderment that crept across Reiner and Annie's faces.
Zeke's eyes gleamed with a maniacal glint, his grin widening as he savored their confusion. "Before we arrived on Paradis, Marley gave us specific orders," he began, his voice rising with each word. "Our mission is to retrieve the Attack Titan... alive, at all costs. But—" he paused, chuckling softly before his laughter swelled into something darker, more unhinged. "Marley was too kind... they lent us something special. Some of their prized war hammer's spinal fluid... saved for the next generation of warriors."
With a dramatic motion, Zeke reached for a metallic box by his side. The latches clicked open, revealing its precious contents: five glass vials filled to the brim with a bluish liquid, glowing faintly under the pale moonlight.
The air around them seemed to thicken, as if the very presence of the serum demanded reverence. Annie gasped, her eyes wide. " Oh God..."
The sight alone stunned them all. Before coming to Paradis, the warriors had been granted only a single vial of serum, and that had gone to Annie, the lucky winner among the six Titans. Now, five bottles lay calmly in Zeke's hands, like gods of war waiting to be unleashed.
Zeke nodded, his grin never fading as the same sly, wicked smiles spread across the others' faces. They knew exactly what this meant. The serum—legendary, divine even—had the power to transform them into gods among monsters. Once injected, it would course through their veins, enhancing their already monstrous abilities, granting them strength beyond imagination.
"But... War Chief," Bertholdt asked, his confusion not entirely dispelled, " What do you plan to do with five bottles? I mean, will you inject each one of us?" His brows furrowed, unsure of the plan.
Zeke's grin only widened as his gaze swept over the group. "Oh no," he whispered, his tone almost gleeful. "The serum isn't for you." He leaned forward, casting a shadow over the glowing vials. "It's neither for me and not for Pieck.... It's for these two...." Zeke pointed towards Reiner and Annie.
"These two will be my trump cards," Zeke said, his voice thick with anticipation. "They'll capture the Founding Titan for me."
The weight of responsibility he placed on them was palpable, but both Annie and Reiner exchanged knowing looks. With the serum in front of them, the task of capturing Eren seemed like a mere formality. A dangerous gleam flashed in their eyes—they could feel the surge of power already waiting to be unleashed.
The plan was simple, yet devastating. Annie would capture Eren—dragging the Founding Titan back into the hands of Marley. Once that task was complete, Reiner and Bertholdt would begin their assault, unleashing hell upon the walls. Trost would be the first to fall.
They would topple the walls one by one, tearing down the last remnants of Eldian resistance. The streets would run red as every Eldian inside the walls was slaughtered—no mercy, no hesitation. Each step they took would bring them closer to the ultimate goal: annihilation of their enemies. The rumble of crumbling stone and the screams of the dying would be the soundtrack of their victory.
The weight of the mission hung in the cold air like the promise of death. They were warriors of Marley, and soon, the people of Paradis would face their extinction.
Without hesitation, the two blondes pulled their sleeves up. The cold air bit into their skin as Zeke carefully administered the injections. Annie received three shots, while Reiner took two. The room tensed, anticipation thickening the air, and then the pain hit—a sickening, searing agony.
Their roars echoed through the castle, feral and raw, as the serum flooded their systems. Muscles clenched, skin stretched tight over glowing veins, which shimmered with yellow-red light as energy exploded within them.
It was a grotesque blend of torment and exhilaration, their bodies struggling to contain the overwhelming surge of power. The light radiated from beneath their skin, the red and gold glow piercing through the stone walls like molten embers.
Their breaths came in ragged gasps, but through the pain, there was a twisted pleasure. They could feel the raw strength filling them, amplifying their every sense, making them feel untouchable.
Zeke watched with a cold, calculating gaze, his thoughts far beyond the present moment. "Go now, my pawns," he thought, his expression dark and unreadable. "Bring my brother to me." His intentions—his true motives—were buried so deep, no one could hope to fathom them.
The night around Utgard Castle seemed to hold its breath as Annie and Reiner, now pulsing with power, prepared to hunt.
"EREN YEAGER!" Annie's voice boomed, her roar echoing across the ruined street as she launched herself toward Eren and Levi. The ground beneath her cracked from the force, dust and debris rising in her wake. The once-bustling street was now a cratered wasteland, the devastation a cruel reflection of the battle to come.
Eren's eyes narrowed, his gaze cold as ice. "Looks like we're out of options..." he muttered under his breath, his jaw clenched.
Levi shot him a sharp glare, his voice like a whip. "Oi, idiot. Don't you dare!" His command snapped Eren back to reality, the weight of Levi's authority grounding him.
"Tch..." Eren clicked his tongue, frustration evident as his eyes fixed on the figure charging toward them. Annie—her body brimming with that divine, corrupted power—seemed unstoppable. The serum coursing through her veins had made her monstrous, a titan beyond mere flesh and bone.
"For now, we'll stick to the other plan," Levi said, his tone deadly serious as he eyed the incoming threat. "Let's see just how fast her hardening really is."
Without warning, Levi grabbed Eren's arm, their movements fluid and synchronized. In an instant, Levi flipped forward, using the momentum to hurl Eren straight toward Annie.
Eren rocketed through the air, aiming directly at the Female Titan, who radiated a terrifying power that made the very air tremble around her. Her arrogance and raw strength had made her feel invincible—but this was a test. A test of her limits.
As the two forces hurtled toward each other, the tension between them crackled, like lightning before the storm.
