Terry found himself on the ground, unable to move. He got knocked down badly by Fixx after letting his guard down. Both he and Powers were standing over him with two security guards coming their way. Fixx put his foot on Terry's chest, pressing it, causing him to struggle for a breath of air. He was ready to kill him. Terry closed his eyes, thinking this was the end for him, but he heard a voice telling Mr. Fixx to stop. He wondered who it was. He looked up to see it was and it was Powers telling him not to kill him. Terry could barely hear the conversation with the shape he was in. All he heard was an argument between them.
"Mr. Powers we have Batman. Don't you want him dead" Powers just laughs at this, "That's not the real Batman, I mean look at him. I've seen the real Batman and I will tell you, he would never have been sucker punched like that. He clearly is a fraud"
"Still I don't think he should live. He had already seen too much"
"I agree Mr. Fixx, I'll take care of this imposter. Go get those cans out of here at once. Is that clear"
Terry could see the annoyance on the face of Mr. Fixx, but the assistant had already agreed, "Yes Mr. Powers" he left to get into the transport.
Powers came closer with his security next to Batman. Terry tries to find something in the belt that might help him, but Powers sees this and kicks him, making Terry cough in pain. Powers kneeled in front of McGinnis with the guards pointing their guns at him. He mocked him for being a fake, "You know for an imposter, I have to say I am impressed you got this far. You know I have come across many in my path to get what I want. I already orphaned a teenager because his parents got in my way." Killing you will be no problem, and when I am done, maybe I will pay Mr. McGinnis visits and finishes the job. After that maybe I will go after his girlfriend next and keep her mouth shut for good" suddenly something inside Terry snapped. With his rage, he kicked Powers in the chin, causing him to fall back. The two security guards then tried to shoot at him, but Terry kept running, so he wouldn't get hit. Mr. Fixx seeing this, stepped out in hopes that he could pick up where he left off, but Powers told him to get back on, so he did that without argument. Getting back inside, Mr. Fixx makes sure everythings in before he presses the controls for take off. The security guards were shooting at McGinnis, who jumped in a place to hide. They walk around in hopes to find him. Terry then jumps forward and grabs their guns before they can fire. He then jams it into their face before taking the weapons away. They then try to fight him, but Terry punches one in the gut and kicks the other back. While Terry is distracted, Powers takes out his own gun, to aim it at him. The blaster fire misses, causing McGinnis to jump out of the way and hide again. Powers has him pinned down, causing him to laugh at himself.
Terry looked his way to see Powers have his weapon aimed in preperation, so he could kill him next time Batman steps out. Terry tries to throw his batarang, but Powers shoots it away, before trying to aim it at McGinnis. Terry rolled away, trying to avoid getting hit.
"You know I have to give you credit. You have almost destroyed my operation. Good news is Mr. Fixx will be on his way and no one will stop me"
"What are you planning to accomplish with this that you had to take lives for it"
"All over. Cost city, National city, Metropolis. All over the country. Then the world. This is going to make me a fortune"
Terry squeezed his hand, "So that's what its all about? Money? You are already rich. What do you need this for?"
Powers smiled, "You're right, but this fortune will make me one of the most untouchable people on the planet. Not even the Justice League will get in my way"
Terry then gets up, but then is shot in the shoulder by Derek Powers. He grabs his shoulder, squeezing it in pain. Powers slowly walks over, wanting to savor this moment before he takes him out.
"Its over Batman. I won" he mocked the wounded hero, who just looked up from above. It was the transport. It was up in the air, getting ready for take off. Mr. Fixx was getting away. He then looks at Powers who is slowly walking towards him, but then Terry notices something in front of him. There is one last nerve gas in front of him. Quickly, Terry grabs the canister of gas, then tosses it at Powers. Without thinking, Powers just shoots the canister, but what he doesn't realize is that the gas went all over his body, causing him to shriek in pain. When he gets up, he notices that there are spots all over his body. The security guards that came in for backup were horrified to see what was happening. Terry was too, but he ran after the transport after seeing it in the air. He flys towards a ramp and jumps on it. Using the claws attached to the gloves, he jams it into the wing of the transport, taking off with it. Meanwhile Powers is still yelling in pain. No one came to help him, he just got worse.
"Help me" he said in pain, "HELP ME!" he screamed louder. Everyone who was in the room when this was happening had left in fear of catching the spread, leaving him to suffer more. The nerve gas on his body had spreaded more, causing him to continue yelling for help.
Terry had his claws on the wing, trying to stay together. He knew if he lets go, then Mr. Fixx gets away and its all over. Terry picks himself back up, moving one hand over the other, so he could climb towards the ledge of the wing before jumping onto the body of the transport. Terry lands, but jams his fingers in again before he could fall off. He makes his way towards the hatch opening it.
Terry gets inside, looking around with caution, he prepares himself in case anyone attempts to jump him. Slowly walking towards the pilot seat. When he pulled the pilot seat, he saw that no one was sitting there. It almost looked like the whole transport was abandoned. When he looked down he saw autopilot mode. By the time he turned around, Mr. Fixx was already behind him, using the cuffs on his knuckles, he punched McGinnis back, cracking the glass of the window. Terry slowly got up, but got hit in the face again. He tried to fight back, but the assistant was too strong for him. Fixx grabbed Terry by the throat, tossing him back.
Terry slowly got up, while Fixx just hit his cuffs together, causing electrical sparks to appear. McGinnis runs and punches him in the gut and then the stomach. Mr. Fixx hit back, but this time he felt electricity hit him, causing lightning to appear on Terry's suit. Mr. Fixx then hit him in the stomach again and then his face twice. Before he could finish the job, Terry grabbed both of his hands, using the power of the suit to fight back.
"Your strong kid for someone thinking he is Batman" Fixx pushed, but Terry pushed harder, "I am Batman"
With all of his might, Terry used his strength to push Fixx. His knuckles hit the control panel, causing his body to be hit with electricity.
Terry could see the look on his face. Almost like he was enjoying it, but he knew better than to let someone suffer. He tried to go over there to pull Fixx away, but the transport started to act funny. Terry was flown all the way towards the back of the transport, catching the ladder just in time. All the nerve gas started to fall, hitting the floor before Terry could help Fixx. He was forced to flee before he got hit by the gas. When he flew out, he saw the transport single. Fixx tried to get out, but the water in the ocean went inside, drowning him. He tried to get out, but the water kept pushing him back. The transport eventually sank into the deep dark abyss of the ocean. Powers was being dragged away by some doctors that worked for him in their radiation suits, when a big splash was seen across Gotham. Powers realized his goal was ruined, "Batman" he said to himself. He kept saying this with the doctors pulling him away.
Terry landed on the building. He couldn't help, but to feel guilty. He wanted Fixx to face justice for his parents murder, not death. Terry just sat with a sigh of relief. It may not have gone as planned, but he stopped Powers from what he was about to do. He may not have brought justice for his parents, but he saved a lot of lives. He heard a sound in the back. Terry went over to see if it was the GCPD out there along with a crowd in the back. Infront was Gordon, getting out of her car. Terry looked to his far left to see Bruce Wayne and Luke Fox come out of their vehicle.
Lights flashed towards Terrys direction with him accidentally being seen. The people who were there gasped. Each of them is called Batman by his name. Terry looked down to see Bruce and Luke with each of them nodding their heads in approval. Terry smirked before flying off into the night.
In Wayne Manor, Terry found himself in the cave with the Batman suit in his bag. Bruce and Luke walked down the stairs, staring at the bag, then back at Terry. Last time they spoke they weren't on the best of terms. Terry isn't sure what he should say, but says it anyways, "Listen Mr. Wayne I am sorry"
"For what?" Bruce said calmly.
"For everything I have done since we have met. It was wrong of me to take the suit, but after losing my parents, I was afraid the same thing would happen to Dana. I had to take matters into my own hands"
"Now what are you going to do?" Luke had asked him.
"I am going to do what I have promised. Give you the suit and walk away. I will never step foot in here Mr. Wayne. You have my word"
Terry turned around prepared to leave the cave one last time until Bruce called him by his name, causing him to stop. He turned around and was confused, "What about Gotham?" Bruce asked him"
"What?" Terry was confused.
Bruce asked him the question again, "I said what about Gotham? Aren't you its protector?"
Terry thought he heard it wrong. At first he thought Bruce was joking, but then he quickly realized he was serious, "What about giving you the suit. I promised you after I stopped Powers, I would give you back the suit."
""You did. You also stopped a deadly situation. You saved lives. Most importantly you inspired the people of Gotham. Gotham still needs a Batman. That's if you are still interested?"
Terry looked at Luke, who just motioned for him to look at Bruce. He didn't know what to say, "Alright I am in. I will continue to help the people of Gotham. I promise"
For the first time since they have known each other, Bruce finally let out a smile. He almost seemed glad to be doing this again. He stretched out his hand for Terry to shake it, "Welcome to the team Batman" Terry with a pleased smile shook Bruce's hand, vowing to be the city's next projector as the next Batman.
At an abandoned hospital, there were doctors in their radiation suits, working on a patient. The patient was on the bed getting examined. There were yellow lights in the ceiling, flashing at Derek Powers, who had spent hours after hours waiting for the results, causing him to be impatient. He grabbed one of the radiation doctors by the arm to pull him closer, "Results, I want them now"
The doctor pulled his arm back, clearing his throat, not sure where to begin, "Well, Mr Powers, I am not sure where to begin. You know the radiation in your body is deadly. The good news it had eradicated the virus in your system"
"And the bad news?"
The doctor didn't even know where to begin, but Powers was already losing his patients, "Just tell me"
The doctors all looked at each other, then back at Powers, who was waiting for answers, "I think it is best if we show you" he turned off the lights, causing a green light to show itself. It had belonged to Powers. He stood up from his bed to look at himself in the mirror. When he saw his own reflection it was like he wasn't even human.
He looked like a skeleton with green skin. The doctors expected him to be angry, but he wasn't. Powers felt his skin, he was laughing constantly, causing everyone in the room to think he was a crazy person. Powers may have lost his operation, but he now sees this as a chance to get his revenge.
