### Chapter 13: Shadows in the Forest

Days had passed in peace and prosperity. The camp had grown stronger and more united, with everyone contributing to the collective effort. Vikram, Arjun, and the others had successfully integrated new resources and allies, creating a thriving community.

One morning, Vikram received troubling news. A group of survivors who had gone out to gather resources had not returned. Concern etched across his face, Vikram called an urgent meeting.

"They should have been back by now," Vikram said, his voice tense. "We need to find them. Raj, Rathore, Maya, and Arjun, you're with me. We're going to search for our missing people."

The group set out, moving quickly through the forest. They scoured the area where the resource-gathering team had last been seen, but found no trace of them. As the sun began to set, Vikram called for a halt.

"We'll have to return to camp," Vikram said reluctantly. "We'll continue the search tomorrow."

The next day, a scouting team was sent out, but they too went missing. The camp was on edge, fear and uncertainty spreading like wildfire. Vikram's mind raced with possibilities. He refused to believe it was just powerful beasts causing the disappearances.

On the third day, more scouts went missing. Vikram's frustration was palpable. He turned to Arjun with a determined look. "Arjun, I need you to create something that can help us see what's happening out there. Something like a hidden camera or a drone."

Arjun nodded, his mind already buzzing with ideas. "I'll see what I can do."

Arjun spent the day experimenting, trying to find a way to create a surveillance device. After several attempts, he discovered a species of bugs with remarkable attributes. They were small, fast, and had excellent vision. With a bit of enchantment, they could serve as perfect spies.

Arjun enchanted the bugs, enhancing their vision and giving them the ability to transmit what they saw back to a central point. He brought his findings to Vikram.

"These bugs can act like drones," Arjun explained. "We can use them to scout the area without risking more lives."

Vikram's eyes lit up with hope. "Excellent work, Arjun. Rathore, gather the beast tamers. We need to catch as many of these bugs as we can."

The beast tamers set out, capturing dozens of the bugs. Arjun enchanted each one, turning them into a small, mobile surveillance network. They released the bugs into the forest, instructing them to spy on the surrounding areas.

Half a day later, the bugs transmitted their findings. The images they relayed back to camp were shocking. A group of humans, armed and dangerous, were seen ambushing and capturing individual survivors.

Captain Rathore's eyes widened as he recognized one of the men. "I know him. He's a criminal. Used to be part of a gang back on Earth."

Vikram's face darkened. "This isn't just about missing people. We have a hostile group out there, and they're organized."

Using the bugs, they tracked the group back to their base. What they saw was alarming. Hundreds of criminals, all heavily armed and well-equipped, were living in a fortified camp deep in the forest.

"They're not just a few rogues," Vikram said, his voice grim. "They're an army."

The camp fell silent, the gravity of the situation sinking in. They were facing a new, powerful threat, one that could potentially destroy everything they had worked so hard to build.

"We need a plan," Vikram said, determination hardening his features. "But first, we need to gather more information and prepare for what's coming."
