"Just like the first level of the gene, the second one can also have the letter 'n' which stands for None.
None means… none. It means that nothing is there, which means whatever else that existed aside from it will take power. I also don't quite understand this myself, but to put it simply, it is possible for the gene of the child to have a mutation, where nothing is there and the other existing genes take power.
For example, the gene 'N-f-L' means the owner is born as a light origin. This is because the first level of their gene is missing, so the third gene took over and became the decider. Same goes for the gene 'N-w-D', where the owner will have the darkness origin.
So, what if their gene is 'F-n-L'? Well, this doesn't really mean anything because the second letter doesn't have a direct result in the origin type. But, it does determine the strength of the owner. I am personally not too sure about the result of having the letter 'n' in the second level, but I think I have some guesses.
Eric. You said your sister has… two elements, right? I'm guessing one of them is of the basic origin, and the other is a special origin?"
Angel turned to Eric and asked him a question about his sister, and that question turned Eric really shocked.
"T-That's right… Lightning and darkness origins, to be exact."
"That must be it, then. Because your sister has a very specific gene, she was able to use two origins at the same time… I think. I'm not too sure of this since I've never heard of anyone having two origins." Angel theorized, and Eric took a look at the table once more.
"Then, her genes would be… 'T-n-D'?" Eric guessed, and I can tell why he thinks it's that.
The big 'T' means thunder or lightning, which means the owner is a lightning origin. The small 'n' determines the purity, but because the purity is none, there is basically no purity. The big 'D' at the end means darkness, which means the owner has a darkness origin in their blood.
"That could be it. Because their purity is 'n' or None, that means their lightning origin and darkness origin are basically battling each other to determine which one is the real origin." I tried guessing the answer, and Angel seemed to be agreeing.
"Although I never really saw anyone having two origins, for sure it is not something impossible. It's just so rare that no one has ever entered the academy with such an ability. At least, not that I'm aware of.
I agree, though. Your sister probably has the genes of 'T-n-D'. This means she has both the lightning and darkness origin inside of her, but because there is no purity supporting the lightning origin, the darkness origin can fight back. As a result, she can wield two elements." Angel completed the study, and both Eric and I only went into our own thoughts.
Then, that means Felicia's genes will be 'F-n-D', considering she can use the fire origin and darkness origin. But, how come she can use an entirely different origin that isn't those two?
"Prince. You said you know someone who can combine two origins, right?" Next to me, Eric asked out of the blue, and I turned to him quite surprised.
First of all, that's exactly what I was thinking just now. Secondly, he really is using the word 'Prince' to address me…
"Yes. I was just thinking about that, actually."
"What is their origin? Was it a combination of basic and special origin as well?" Angel asked from across the table, and I nodded at the two of them.
"Something that is made of fire and darkness, but she can't use either one of them. She can only use the combination product of the two origins." I explained, and Angel looked widely surprised.
"W-What can she use??"
"Dark fire, right?" Next to me, Eric chimed in to guess. I was surprised that he knew about it.
"Well, she was quite famous for that ability. That's how she got her title, the 'Dark Knight' of Fiordall." I bragged a little about her, and Angel looked like she wanted to cry from the bewilderment.
"That's amazing… I've never heard of something like that! Combining basic and special origins into one unique origin… Wait, 'Unique' origin?" Angel mumbled on her own, and she pulled the book towards her to open another page.
Eric and I could only wait while she searched the book on her own, so I turned to him with a question. "How did you know her abilities were dark fire?"
"My sister once mentioned it to me. She couldn't use it for some reason, but I'm sure she would be able to obtain it by now." Eric explained so straightforwardly, and I became really amazed.
"Was she strong?"
"… Too strong."
Yeah… I knew it. Felicia was really strong as well with her dark fire origin. So stupidly strong that not a single person in our kingdom can rival her, which made her become the greatest knight in the kingdom at such a young age. The famed 'Dark Knight'.
"Ah, here it is!" Angel placed the book back in front of us, and we quickly started reading what was shown.
"Unique origins, the third type of origins aside from basic and special."
Unique… huh? So, dark fire origin counts as part of that?
"Origins like what you mentioned, the dark fire origin and Eric's sister are probably in this category. The book didn't really show other examples other than the ice origin and sound origin." Angel explained what she thinks, and I realized something that was written in the book.
"What's… 'Awakening Tier'?" I pointed at the words next to the ice and sound origin, and Angel only laughed awkwardly before she pulled the book away.
"That's… that's not something anyone can achieve, so don't worry about it!" Angel laughed awkwardly, and we became really suspicious of her.
It looks like we both obtained our answers. I came here to learn the possibility of someone having two origins, and Eric wants to know about the merging of two origins.
But… we also obtained something other than answers.
Headaches.
"H-Hey, are you okay…?" Lily asked me as soon as we met up at the lobby, and it really looked like I wanted to die.
After the club activity and registering was done, we promised to meet back at the lobby. Everyone was already here when I arrived, so it seems like they were all waiting for me.
"I'm going to bed…" Next to me, Eric mumbled before leaving the club building, and I just waved my hand at him.
"Yeah… enjoy."
Everyone watched as Eric limply made his way to the dormitory building, and they all turned their curious faces at me. Meanwhile, I'm not really in a mood to explain anything.
"Should we get some snacks…?" I suggested, and no one seemed to dislike the idea.
While eating light meals at the canteen, Jonah yelled at me because I left him alone at the body builders club, and I asked him how it went. He explained that everyone was so tall and muscular that he felt like he was at a knight's barracks or something with topless soldiers, and I laughed imagining that.
Lily then told everyone about her experience with the dance club. Every female senior in that club was so beautiful and skilled that she felt really motivated to learn how to dance.
Hearing such a thing, Jonah bumped his elbow to me while wearing a really perverted grin, and I let out a sigh. In front of him, the two girls only stared at him with cold annoyed eyes.
When we asked what club she went to, Nyssa only answered plainly as usual.
"I was scouted by the disciplinary committee."
"""That's not a club, though!?!?!"""
Apparently while we were gone, one of the seniors at the club building recognized Nyssa. The senior knew that Nyssa was one of the highest scoring first years, and they invited her to join the disciplinary committee since she was really strong.
Though, I'm not sure if someone like Nyssa fits to be a disciplinary committee… well, we can only see for now.
While Lily is yelling at Nyssa for that weird decision, Reju arrived at the canteen and quickly noticed me. He was with his new friends that he got through his roommate, and looks like they were about to eat lunch.
"You should send a letter to Mom. It's been a week since you left." Reju said to remind me, and I cursed myself for not remembering.
I thanked Reju for the reminder, and I asked what club he ended up joining. He said that he hasn't decided yet, and he returned me with a question. Hearing the name origin science club, he immediately turned disgusted. He left right away while cursing at me by calling me a damn nerd or so.
That guy will always be full of surprises. One thing for certain, is that you can't change someone if they are too dumb to realize their problem.
