Chapter 100 - Chapter 100 - Commander's Sanctum

After getting affirmative, yet reluctant, agreements from everyone about cleaning up the blood and corpses spread throughout the base, Kane indicated for Aelia, Anna, Mira, and Lyra to follow him, before leaving the room. Luna and holographic Ella came as well, of course, he simply had no need to ask.

At the same time, he ordered Ella to open the blast doors leading to the base's exit, whenever someone wanted to leave, so that his new subordinates could bury people outside, assuming they didn't simply burn them all.

At this point, betraying him, and their new leader Aelia, by abandoning them, was impossible, so there was no danger in letting anyone leave. Of course, he also couldn't simply leave the door open, so Ella had to play doorwoman until they could create a better system.

A few moments later, all six of them were walking through the halls, with Kane and Luna at the head. Nothing was said, however, largely because the four women behind them were focused on learning their new techniques, even while walking.

Kane and Luna were talking telepathically, however, which started with the pouting of an aggrieved Luna. "Master… I thought you had a plan for introducing me to them? When is that happening, and how? I need them to know and respect me if I'm going to be your Valkyrie."

Kane smiled mysteriously, "Don't worry, Luna, it's happening tomorrow. But you know how I like to tease you, so you'll have to wait and see…"

Luna rolled her eyes. She did know about that, and she also knew he liked to act mysterious. To be fair, though, she didn't mind it so much. His surprises had never let her down, after all, so she lost her pout and chuckled, "Fine, Master. You're lucky I like surprises!"

"Good girl," Kane laughed softly back at her.

Soon, they arrived at their destination. According to Ella, this was described on the facility's floor plan as the Commander's Sanctum. Naturally, Kane would be staying here for the foreseeable future, but that wasn't important right now.

The sanctum actually consisted of several connected rooms, and they were now about to enter the first one, which acted as both a conference room, and a study.

As soon as they entered, one thing stood out immediately, which was the large, high-backed chair in the back. It dominated the room as it's obvious focal point. It was made of primarily dark, matte-finished metal, but some parts were covered in softer material for comfort.

Surprisingly, however, it was the only piece of furniture in the room.

The walls and floor were not made of dark metal, like the rest of the base, but rather of a dark, warm stone, that was intimidating but not unpleasant. On the sides were several displays and interfaces that were currently dark.

Although the room was austere in nature, there were some subtle reliefs and carvings depicting unknown symbols carved into the upper ends of the walls, as well as the remains of what was likely once a flag, hanging behind the throne-like chair.

Light came from surprisingly artistic and beautifully designed fixtures on the ceiling, which were surrounded by more reliefs and carvings.

Kane and Luna looked around in curiosity for a moment, although the other four didn't particularly care, since they'd seen this room already. So, until Kane actually addressed them, they stayed with their noses dug into their new techniques.

The previous leader of their crew had taken it as its own, and this room had been used to discuss matters between the crew's most powerful and influential. Naturally, Kane would use it for much the same thing, the only difference being that he had far more control over the place.

After taking in the room, Kane walked over to the chair, and unceremoniously sat down.

"Comfortable, Master?" Luna asked with a sly grin, as she took what she felt was her natural place: at his right side. There, she sat herself down on the large armrest, wrapped her tail around his waist, and draped her arm around his shoulder.

"It is, actually," Kane nodded with a grin of his own. He leaned back comfortably, putting one arm on the left armrest, and the other on Luna's right thigh. "The metal is surprisingly warm, and the seating area actually has some cushioning."

Meanwhile, the holographic Ella went to stand on his left. Kane addressed her, "Alright, Ella. Do your thing."

"Gladly, Master," she nodded before snapping her fingers. Again, this was obviously an unnecessary gesture, but it felt right to her.

After snapping her fingers, the room suddenly underwent a change. In front of Kane's chair, a large, rectangular table, which had previously been completely unnoticeable, suddenly folded out of the floor. It quickly positioned itself so that Kane sat at its head, before six smaller chairs rose up on the sides.

The table was made of the same dark stone-like material as the floor, but the surface was completely smooth, and clearly functioned as a display as well.

This finally caught the attention of Aelia, Anna, Lyra, and Mira, who all looked up from their techniques in utter shock. "What the hell…" Aelia muttered, along with the others.

"I guess you never knew about that, huh?" Kane chuckled as he watched their expressions. Then, he turned to the doll-sized Ella that still sat on his left shoulder, "You really are a treasure, Ella. Thank you."

Ella blushed slightly and said nothing. She was used to being complimented during her time as a princess, but for some reason, Kane's praises felt more real to her.

Kane then indicated towards the chairs, "Why don't you four take a seat. We have some things to discuss still."

While still a little in shock that the room they'd been standing in for the last week actually had this functionality, the four took their seats, after turning their holographic display's off. Aelia sat on the closest chair on his right, with Lyra next to her, and across from Aelia sat Anna, with Mira next to her.

"Kane's gaze swept over the four women, each of whom looked at him with a unique expression: Lyra—respectful and bashful; Mira—respectful yet playful; Anna—excited and bashful; Aelia—still cautious, wary, and defiant, but also with slowly growing respect.

Seeing the way they looked at him, Kane knew that his plans, in combination with the lust rune's passive effects, were already paying dividends, as even Aelia was starting to become more accepting.

After a moment of silence while Kane put his thoughts in order, he finally spoke up. "Why don't you four start with giving me general situation and history of Primaterra?"
