Chapter 3 - god of room service...

The Hundred were all busy unwinding the tapestry's golden strings and searching for the missing fated one. There were only two fated left, and they could not afford losing another one. The Fated were the luckiest bastards alive, being touched by the gods themselves and having a tapestry nexus within them, and their main purpose was to serve as a regular source of entertainment for the gods. Being a deity was extremely boring, and they played with the lives of the fated ones to ease themselves of that boredom.

The Hundred's main job was to twist fate and create scenarios that would entertain the deities, while making sure that the tyrannical gods remained in absolute power. Fated #4 had been a great source of entertainment for the gods, but now, he had suddenly vanished from the radar.

With a deep frown, the Head Sage slammed his fists on the large mahogany table. If the rest of the deities were to find out about their incompetence, then they would be unalived in seconds.

"Work harder! Trace every single string if you have to! Don't think, don't stop, don't even breathe until you find that guy!"

Then strangely, his sunken grey eyes turned unfocused and his rage dissipated.

"Why are you all unwinding the tapestry?"

The other sages raised a brow in slight confusion.

"You told us to, sir."

The head sage stroked his beard with a distant look.

"I did?"

By now, the other sages weren't so sure anymore. They knew that they were searching for someone, but no matter how hard they tried, they could not just recall who.

Waking up on his luxurious bed, Ren was in a good mood this morning.

"Good morning, world."

Standing up, he tied his glossy raven black hair into a long ponytail as he walked across the room. Standing by his side, was an identical wraith that had a disdainful look on its face.

"Good morning, me."

He smiled as he passed by the apparition, but the apparition merely gave him the middle finger. Then he walked over to the long mirror hanging on the wall and took a good look at himself.

'Man, do I look good.'

Maybe being a divine being wasn't too bad after all.

"Good morning Helios' severed head."

A look of cold glee washed across his face as he passed by the disembodied head. That was his trophy, evidence that he had slain a god. If he were still connected to the tapestry, then Mages would have burst through his door in a matter of seconds, and he would be tried for high treason by the Hundred, then brutally executed or sacrificed to appease the rest of the deities, but he wasn't, was he?

Perhaps, the part that pleased him most, was that he had not received a knot in almost two years.

After taking a long hot bath, Ren snapped his fingers and he instantly appeared in a large dark room. He then clapped twice, and the lights switched on by themselves.

In the past two years, very many things had happened. He had lost his sanity and roamed the Labyrinth as a dangerous lunatic for a few months, traded his godhood for demonhood and then slayed the demon king, oh and he had managed to learn alchemy, sorcery, and crafting along the line.

"Well then, let's get to work."

With a wave of his hand, dark ethereal mana left his body and entered into the lifeless knights that were standing by the corner. Ever since he became a demon, he could control the darkness far better. Formerly being an incarnation for Hel, Anubis, Hades, and even Osiris at one time, he was not a stranger to Dark magic and death.

The sages could not see him, meaning that the gods could not see him either, thus he had the liberty to do WHATEVER he wished to. But after going renegade for a full year and some months, he had chosen to settle down here in the five hundredth and thirtieth world of the labyrinth, an island type world where the islands floated in the skies, and flying ships served as the only means of transport. It was one of the few habitable citadels where humans could thrive, making it among the best locations for Styx's Bed and Breakfast. It was rather strange, regressing into the background and running the tiny motel after slaying more than half of the Olympian - Asgardian gods and transcending into a deity, but it was one of the things still giving him a semblance of false sanity.

"Tch, you went from godslayer to god of room service..."

The wild looking apparition turned his head away with a sneer.

Ren ignored the wraith and sat at the receptionist desk. It was almost 7:39 AM, and that meant that the second reason why he chose this world would soon appear.

The door flung open and a stunning beauty with fair alabaster skin and long silver hair tinted black at the ends strutted into the building. She was followed by three more equally - if not more pretty females all dressed in onyx black armor.

This was the second reason why he settled here. His harem... sorry, his Team members were all here.

'Sigh...'

The only thing Ren missed from his old life was Twi. Speaking of Twilight Silver, she looked pretty roughed up. Countless fading scars littered her skin, each one marking the conquest of a formidable foe. Not any tom, dick or harry could draw Twi's blood, meaning that she had been battling a Labyrinth spawn of the Demented rank... Anyways, he had already prepared decaf coffee and a crispy croissant beforehand as he knew that that was the first thing she had in the morning. Soon enough, the small table bell rang out and he could hear her slightly high pitched voice.

"Um, excuse me Mr Styx. Could we get some coffee?"

Ren flashed a slight smile, which accompanied by his transcendental beauty, was enough to make any woman's heart flutter, and then made his way to the kitchen with a slight bow.

Meeting Twi and the others every morning was the hardest part of the day.
