Two weeks had passed since Togiri and Fang had stopped fighting in the Heaven's Arena and quite a few months since the incident with Chrollo Lucifer and the Seven Deadly Sins.
They left a destroyed training room, wearing their new custom made clothes that were an imitation of a certain orange wearing fighter.
The clothes were plain in color. Togiri wore a simple black shirt and pants. Fang the same but in white.
Both were drenched in sweat, panting with white towels around their necks.
"Now that we're only fighting each other, I feel like I'm getting stronger by the minute! Too bad we never became floor masters," Fang sulked.
"We still have so much to learn in Nen. We'll develop our Nen abilities after the Hunter Exam. Then we'll become floor masters," Togiri reassured.
"Why can't we go this year? Why do we need to train for two more years? The Hunter I defeated 1 month ago wasn't even strong enough to make me sweat," Fang was eager for a challenge.
"We don't know how difficult the Hunter Exam is. You saw the other Hunter we met two weeks ago. When he showed us his Nen, we were like ants compared to him."
The Hunter they had met was Kite, the unofficial student of the famous Hunter Ging.
Kite fought in the Heaven's Arena to cover his travel expenses, or so he told the boys. Togiri was surprised to meet him, but he approached Kite and asked if he could train him and Fang. Kite refused, no matter how often Togiri asked and bribed him.
Togiri and Fang fought Kite multiple times on the 200th floor and always lost. Kite didn't fight them seriously; instead, he guided them during the matches.
They learned many things from Kite that other Nen fighters on the 200th floor didn't showcase, like feints using aura fluctuations and experiences gained from years of training and fighting.
Kite could have easily overpowered them, but he chose to teach them instead. The reason why Fang and Togiri left the Heaven's Arena was Kite's advice: fighting others and winning matches wouldn't help them grow as much as focusing solely on polishing their
basics and their foundation.
Togiri and Fang took his advice to heart, considering him a senior and short-term mentor.
"Ugh, I feel so sluggish and powerless!" Fang complained, walking as if his feet were made of cement.
"Honey, look at them!" said a woman to her boyfriend as they passed by Togiri and Fang. Fang got annoyed at the woman's comment.
"It's the middle of the day. It's so hot. Why do we need to do this now? The shop with the bear is in the city center. Can't you just order one of your employees to buy the bear?"
"We are Lilia's big brothers. Mom and Dad asked us specifically to go buy it."
The two boys were walking around the city looking for a teddy bear. Fang's newborn little sister Lilia had lost her teddy bear, and she wouldn't sleep without it.
They were exhausted, having been awake for 20 hours and fighting each other for 10 straight hours and they wore their new customized heavy clothes.
Togiri's clothes, with Seven's help, weighed an additional 50 kg, making his total 150 kg (330 pounds).
"We're almost there! The last shop! They said they had the teddy bear. Huff Huff. 'Seven, reduce the total weight to 120 kg. I can't walk anymore. It feels like my leg tendons are ripping apart.'"
"Finally!" Fang raised his arms in the air, then quickly put them down again in pain. They stood before a pink shop called "TINA'S TOYS."
Inside, everything was pink: the floor, walls, light bulbs, tables, shelves, toys, and stuffed animals. Togiri tried to open the door but failed. There was a note on the glass door: "I'm sorry, there is an emergency. Will be back in two days." Read Togiri outloud.
"Eh? Really?" Fang sulked heavily.
"Sigh~. Fang, how about we break in and leave the money behind?"
Fang, a stickler for justice, never did anything bad except play pranks on Togiri. He looked at Togiri for a moment and then turned his head away.
"We can't do that," Fang said quietly, looking away. Togiri burst out laughing. "You thought about it! Hahahahah."
Fang sighed exhausted. Togiri spoke in a cheerful tone. "Alright. Let's go home. Let's order that teddy bear or buy it secondhand." Togiri put his arm around Fang's neck and grabbed him.
"I guess a few more nights of Lilia screaming aren't that hard to endure." Fang said, visibly disappointed. They had already visited eight different stores to find the same teddy bear Lilia had lost.
"Are you!..." a young girly voice reached their ears. They turned around to see a girl looking at them with big shining eyes, about their age, wearing a blue princess-like dress similar to Cinderella, with curly blond hair. Togiri and Fang looked at each other, confused.
"Are you the Tenacious Togiri and the Fearless Fang?"
"Eh? Yeah?" answered Fang, confused. Togiri blushed with embarrassment. The girl's face lit up.
"Oh my god! Can I have an autograph? A picture? Can I shake your hands?" The girl's energy was overwhelming.
"I need to call all my friends!" She pulled out her phone and tapped on it like crazy. "Tangs assemble!"
"T-Tangs?" Togiri asked with a bright face
"Ah! The Tangs are the Togiri and Fang fans! If you put your names together, it becomes Tangs. I'm the president of the fan club!" The girl pointed at her chest and held her head high, looking very proud.
"Please, let me take a picture!" Togiri and Fang were dumbfounded and red with embarrassment.
A few minutes later, they finished giving autographs and taking pictures with their fans. A crowd of girls had quickly gathered, forming a circle around the two boys.
Togiri was very embarrassed, but Fang was acting cooler and smugger than usual. The sounds of pictures being taken and flashes were everywhere, along with intimate questions.
Many people on the street stopped to look at the crowd of girls fanatically spending time with Togiri and Fang.
"Togiri is so handsome and mature. The first time I saw him was in the Heaven's Arena. My heart melted. I hate violence, but I love it when Togiri is fighting. I wish his face would never get hurt," said a girl.
"Hmm. What's so good about plain Togiri? Fang is the most handsome! His red fire hair and ocean blue eyes with his smile and handsome face are the best!"
"His eyes are sky blue, not ocean blue!"
"No! It's ocean blue!" The girls started arguing.
"Togiri is the most handsome and coolest. He is as cold as ice, but when he smiles and laughs, it's like the snow and ice are melting, and it becomes spring." Togiri and Fang smiled awkwardly about their comments.
Togiri felt awkward that little girls were so obsessed with him. Some had his face on keychains or as their phone's home screen. In his eyes, he had an average face.
What was worse was that most girls had wild theories about their lives. They said Togiri was a genius who could make even a failing bad business successful. Disrespectful praides that undermined others and lifted them up annoyed Togiri and Fang.
'I wish my life was like this in my previous world and these were all grown women and not little girls.'
@Dream on! The only grown woman that would want you in your last life would be blind or a gold digger@
"Oh!" Togiri had an idea. "Girls! Can you help us find a teddy bear? Here's a picture of what it looks like. Can you help us?"
Fang looked at Togiri before the girls exploded with happiness. "Yes! I will find it! Trust me!"
"Yes!" The girls ran in different directions to look for the teddy bear except one girl, who looked about 4 or 5 years old and didn't seem to belong to the crazy crowd of fans.
"Big brother!" Togiri lifted her to his chest. "Little girl, where are your parents?"
"I don't have any! I want to be like you when I grow up! I heard you were an orphan and became strong and rich" This shocked Togiri. He noticed she wore old, dirty clothes.
Fang and Togiri looked at each other. "Where do you live?" asked Fang, concerned.
"I live there," the girl pointed to her left, then looked sad. Togiri startled tried to cheer her up.
"Don't cry, don't cry! I'm here and I will protect you. Look how strong I am!" Togiri put the girl down and threw Fang around in the air like a circus performer.
"Hahahaha, more! More," the girl laughed, clapped, and smiled again. "Here!" Togiri started walking on his hands, clapping with his feet.
Fang also started doing various tricks like rolling and jumping around. Fang exhausted said "Damn these clothes are heavy!"
Soon a crowd formed, watching the two boys perform acrobatics to cheer up the little girl.
Togiri threw Fang in the air, and Fang made a triple backflip. Togiri stretched out his arm, and Fang landed with his butt on Togiri's hand.
"Oh..." Fang farted. "HAHAHAHA" The crowd laughed and cheered, but Togiri smiled and threw a certain look at Fang.
The little girl laughed so hard she fell down on her butt and held her belly laughing.
After a short round of tips that Togiri collected to give the little girl, Togiri and Fang brought her 'home'. Togiri gave the girl his number and a credit card with one of his account that was filled with a few million.
Togiri also talked with the orphanage director and made a contract to sponsor them. Providing necessities to the kids.
"We'll go now, but don't worry, we will visit. Listen, Amber. You don't need to become strong like us, but you need to become happy. Don't hate your parents or the life you were born into," Togiri said, unsure if she truly understood his words.
"Yes..." Amber said, very sad that Fang and Togiri were leaving.
"Tada! Here is some candy for you." Togiri gave Amber some candy and patted her head and looked sentimentally at the sky. "There are many animals, beautiful places, good food and nice people in the world... So don't hate it too much." Togiri smiled brightly and patted her head.
Fang continued, "The world is a big and scary place, but even so, it is beautiful!" They just said some words without much thought to cheer Amber up.
Only in the future would they know how much of an impact their words truly had on her.
