The Kumo Jōnin crouched low, eyes fixed on the Uchiha boy ahead. Despite the boy's impressive strength, being surrounded by skilled ninja had him temporarily pinned down. The Jōnin knew their chances hinged on whether this boy would fall into their trap.
Glancing at his fallen comrades, he cursed himself for underestimating the young shinobi. "We were careless," he thought, realizing that the boy, despite his age, possessed the power of a Jōnin.
Ninja battles often involved many factors—raw strength was only part of the equation. Experience, terrain, strategy, timing, and even luck played crucial roles.
Although this Uchiha's raw strength slightly surpassed theirs, they still had the upper hand in numbers and positioning.
"Lightning Style: Tenfold Lightning Field!" the Jōnin whispered, forming a series of rapid hand seals.
His hands shot upwards, sending bright arcs of lightning into the sky. The electricity dispersed into the surrounding area, bathing the battlefield in crackling energy. The scattered bolts lingered, transforming the terrain into a dangerous lightning field.
With his body wrapped in a shield of electricity, the Jōnin dove back into the fray, using the charged environment to his advantage.
Gin, having just repelled a Chūnin's attack, turned his attention to the crackling lightning around him. He leapt gracefully into the air, flipping to avoid the arcs of energy as they shot through the ground. The remaining Kumo shinobi were not so lucky—some of their own Genin were fried by the lightning, their bodies lying charred on the ground.
"So much for camaraderie," Gin muttered, deflecting another incoming strike with his sword.
"The weak have no purpose." The Jōnin's voice echoed through the lightning field, indifferent to his fallen comrades. He vanished into the sparking terrain, leaving only brief flashes of light in his wake.
Gin felt his body momentarily seize up as the lingering static from the lightning field began to take effect. His movements slowed as more Kumo ninja pressed their attack. Despite the pain of the electricity, Gin dodged and parried their blows, his Sharingan constantly tracking their movements.
Leaping to avoid another volley of attacks, Gin landed in a small patch untouched by lightning. He quickly surveyed the battlefield.
Two of the Chūnin were down, and most of the Genin had been taken out by their own ally's technique. Only one heavily injured Jōnin remained, along with four Chūnin and a few Genin.
"You guys are brutal," Gin called out, his eyes still darting between his remaining foes.
Two Chūnin charged forward, their blades drawn, while the others circled around, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Gin parried their blows, narrowly dodging a lightning-infused kunai aimed at his heart. He could feel the pressure mounting.
In a flash, the Jōnin appeared from the lightning field, his blade crackling with electricity. Rather than face him head-on, Gin hurled a kunai with an explosive tag attached toward the Jōnin, who disappeared back into the lightning just as the explosion went off.
"Boom!"
The explosion created a brief lull in the attacks as the Chūnin hesitated, waiting for their Jōnin leader to reappear.
Gin sighed. "This isn't going to end unless I finish it quickly."
He dropped into a low stance, sheathing his sword once again. His breathing slowed, and the air around him shifted.
"Breath of the Moon: Fifth Form!"
"Moon Spirit Whirlpool Slash!"
Gin began to spin, his blade still sheathed, creating a vortex of slashes around him. The air swirled with deadly force, and crescent-shaped blades of energy spiraled outward, catching two of the approaching Chūnin in its wake.
The remaining Chūnin and Genin tried to move in, but they found their bodies frozen in place, unable to take even a single step.
"Shadow Imitation Technique!" a voice echoed through the battlefield. The shadow at Gin's feet had stretched and connected with theirs.
The vortex continued to shred the trapped Chūnin as Gin's Kage Shibari held them immobile. Their bodies were torn apart by the crescent-shaped slashes.
As the vortex subsided, the bodies of the Chūnin fell limply to the ground. Gin, still crouched in his starting position, slowly rose to his feet.
But at that moment, a flash of blue light streaked toward him.
"Lightning Style: Instant Thunder Strike!"
The Jōnin, having waited for the perfect moment, unleashed a devastating bolt of lightning. It struck the spot where Gin had been standing.
However, Gin had already disappeared, reappearing behind the remaining Kumo-nin.
Blood dripped from his sword as he completed his Shunshin technique, a swift movement that left no room for error.
"Instant Step – Instant Kill Technique." His voice was cold.
With the last of the Chūnin and Genin down, Gin turned his attention to the Jōnin still hiding in the lightning field.
"It's just you and me now."
The Jōnin, now sweating profusely, cursed under his breath. Not only did this Uchiha have the infamous Sharingan, but he also possessed the Nara Clan's shadow techniques. It made no sense.
"This kid's full of surprises," the Jōnin thought, his body tense as he prepared for the final confrontation.
Gin's blood-red Sharingan spun lazily, tracking every movement. He wasn't about to let this fight drag on any longer.
