Chapter 1 - 1. I’m Not Cheating!

Bang!

One bedroom door in the Johnson family residence was violently kicked in from the outside. A middle-aged man, followed by several Johnson family members, rushed in with mixed expressions. They stormed in, only to find a man and a woman lying half-naked on the bed.

"Iris, what the hell are you doing?!" the middle-aged man named Christopher Johnson shouted angrily.

"Dad?" Iris, the 25-year-old girl sleeping comfortably on the blanket bed, gasped in shock. She blinked in confusion as her father and several of her family members barged into her room.

"What are you guys...." She couldn't continue with her question. Iris' eyes bulged when she saw a man just waking up next to her.

"Archer Brooks?" Iris frowned at the man. Her head was dizzy and throbbing after a night of heavy drinking. She shook her head. "This is not right. How did he get here?" she asked her family.

"I should be asking you, you fool!" snapped Mr. Johnson. His face was dark red. It was obvious that he was furious that his daughter was cheating. Yes, she was cheating on her fiancé!

The Johnson family had long ago arranged Iris' marriage to William, the first son of the esteemed Collins family. Everything was going well. They even just had a party where the two families met last night to discuss their wedding day. However, who would have thought that the next morning they would find Iris sleeping with William's personal bodyguard?

Yes, that was right. Archer was William's personal bodyguard!

"Dad, I'm not..." Iris was about to deny it, but the old man immediately glared while holding up his trembling index finger.

"Cover your body! You're really embarrassing me!" shouted Mr. Johnson.

Iris looked down and realized she was only wearing a pair of red bikinis. Her face instantly turned hot red. She immediately pulled up the blanket to cover her body.

'What on earth is going on?' she wondered silently, then turned to Archer. The man just looked up and stared at the ceiling of the room indifferently, as if he hadn't gotten into any trouble with her.

"Hey, did we do something bad last night?" Iris whispered while leaning toward Archer. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know," the man replied. "Maybe we did, or maybe we didn't."

"Seriously! I'm not cheating!" shouted Iris indignantly. She stood up immediately while hugging the blanket and looked at her father earnestly.

"Dad, do you think I've lost my mind? If I were really cheating or having an affair with another man, I would have chosen someone richer than William! How absurd!" She denied it while grumbling.

"And you still dare to deny it? Would a man and woman who have nothing to do with each other sleep in the same room with their naked bodies?" scolded Mr. Johnson.

"I'm not really naked," Iris retorted, looking guiltless.

"You're really...!" Mr. Johnson became even more furious.

"Dad's right. You'd better be honest with us, Iris!" scolded Lily, Iris' youngest half-sister. She was only 19 years old.

Iris looked down and sighed. She blew out a few strands of blonde hair that covered her face. "I really don't know how to explain," she muttered.

She had indeed gotten very drunk last night and did not remember how she ended up in the room with Archer. Unfortunately, she didn't have anything to prove her innocence.

"Honey, maybe we can hide this from the Collins family. They won't cancel the wedding as long as they don't know anything," Mrs. Johnson said gently. As always, she was a graceful and loving woman.

"What do you think of that man?!" Mr. Johnson pointed at Archer in annoyance. "He's William's subordinate!"

"Maybe... we can bribe him to shut up?" Iris proposed foolishly.

Archer gave the girl a flat look. "I don't need money."

Iris shrugged. The corner of her lips lifted, but she quickly changed her expression to despair. "Then what should we do? Dad, I don't want my marriage to be canceled."

Archer, who heard that, frowned slightly. He looked at Iris with narrowed eyes. Did that girl not want to deny it anymore?

"Dad, maybe this is just an accident. There's no way Iris would cheat on William anyway." Rachel, Iris's older half-sister, finally came to her defense.

Iris immediately nodded in agreement. "You really understand me."

Rachel smiled sweetly and said nothing more.

"But the evidence is in plain sight. We even saw them sleeping on the same bed. How could they not be cheating?!" Lily made another accusation.

"A stinky child like you should stay out of it!" Iris gave the girl an exasperated look.

"Damn you!" Lily grumbled.

"I will annul the marriage," Mr. Johnson said flatly. He said it seriously. Surely, his decision was inviolable.

"Dad, do you not trust me at all?" Iris asked. She looked at the man in his sixties without emotion.

"You've embarrassed me enough!" growled Mr. Johnson. "Before the Collins family or anyone else discovers your affair, I'd better cancel the wedding!"

"Husband, you must be-" Mrs. Johnson wanted to speak, but Mr. Johnson quickly shook his head.

"I'm not joking." He looked at his wife seriously. "Don't interfere with my decision!"

He turned to look at Iris and Archer and snorted coldly. "You'd better leave here immediately and never come back. I don't have a cheating daughter!"

After saying that, he walked out of the room, leaving the others in shock. They did not expect Christopher to go so far as to kick Iris out. They were father and daughter, after all.

"I'll try to talk to Dad. Maybe he's just angry for a moment," said Rachel, who then ran after their father.

Mrs. Johnson looked at Iris with concern. However, she did not say anything and just pulled Lily out of the room. The maids, who were secretly eavesdropping and peeping from outside, also left.

The room became silent. Iris looked down expressionlessly. Archer, who saw that, sighed. "I don't remember clearly what happened last night, but I never intended to do anything to you."

Iris did not answer. A moment later, she burst out laughing. She laughed until her face turned red, and when she looked up, her tears fell. Iris knew what was really going on.

"It's not your fault." Iris looked at Archer with a flat smile. She wiped away her tears and then looked coldly at her slightly wet palms. "I know someone set us up on purpose."

Archer shook his head. He became interested in hearing that. "Who might have done that?"

"What do you think?" Iris walked up to Archer.

When in the presence of her family, she seemed like a girl with a poor attitude. She seemed stupid, immature, and lacked seriousness. However, it was different when she was alone with Archer.

"Who might have given you sleeping pills?" she asked.

"Last night, I deliberately didn't drink much. I just toasted with William," replied Archer honestly.

"So it was him." Iris smiled sarcastically. "Last night, I drank and toasted with many people, including William, Rachel, my stepmother, Lily, and even my father. Do you think William was working with any of them? What game is he playing?"

Archer found it a little surprising that Iris showed no surprise at all, as if she were just going with the flow of someone else's game. She was neither stupid nor clueless. He didn't expect that the girl had another side that was even more attractive than her beauty.

"I seem to have misjudged you," Archer said as he tilted his head. The corners of his lips lifted slightly, making his face look even more handsome.

"We're already trapped. After this, we'll be known as cheaters," Iris said as she picked up her dress that was lying on the floor. "I can't believe the Collins family won't know anything about it. They'll just make a big deal out of it."

Archer watched Iris. "Do you want to get back at them?"

"Don't you?" Iris asked back.

"Actually, I don't care about my reputation or these things. I'm not really at a disadvantage, anyway. I'm just lucky to see your beautiful body," Archer said with a smirk.

"Pervert!" Iris looked at him sarcastically.

"Am I?" Archer stood up and stepped closer to Iris. He was only wearing tight boxer briefs. His pubic mound was clearly visible.

Iris immediately turned around. Although Archer was only a personal bodyguard, he looked very unusual. He was handsome and charming, with dark blue eyes and a tall, well-built body. There was a strong aura and charisma about Archer, which made him different from other men. Any woman could fall for him easily.

"Will you do me a favor?" asked Iris while turning her back on Archer. She didn't want to see him in such a voluptuous state.

"Help?"

"Yes." Iris looked down. "After all, William has used you to his advantage. You shouldn't be silent and resigned."

Archer smiled casually. "He's my boss, after all. It's my job to help him. Why should I help you?"

Iris became a little annoyed at hearing that. She finally turned around. Archer was already standing right behind her. Iris' eyes glared slightly at the collarbone in front of her face. She wanted to curse, but realized Archer was the most appropriate candidate to help her.

"Fine! What do you want to get you to help me?"

The corners of the man's lips lifted. "Do you love William?"

Iris snorted. "You know our relationship is not that special. We got engaged just for the sake of the company. Even so, I won't allow him to be sneaky like this. Making me bear something I never did is not fair."

The smile on Archer's lips grew wider. There was a dangerous feeling for anyone who saw it. He said, "I will consider helping you if you are willing to make a deal with me."

"A deal?" Iris's brow furrowed.

Archer suddenly bent down. He brought his lips close to Iris' ear, then whispered, "Sex on the beach."
