[Aurora's Apartment]
Back at Aurora's apartment, Kane had just finished eating and picked up the plate with the leftovers. As he stood and walked toward the sink to wash the plate, he muttered to himself, "She said she'd call me when she's done."
But suddenly, a sharp, deep pain began forming in his hand, causing him to grunt in agony. The plate slipped from his grasp, crashing to the floor.
"What the hell?" Kane gasped, dropping to one knee as he clutched his aching hand. The pain was intense, as though something sharp was slicing through his arm. "This isn't just a cramp," he muttered through clenched teeth, trying to understand what was happening.
Struggling to his feet, Kane carefully picked up the broken pieces of the plate with his other hand, tossing them into the bin. But the pain persisted, gnawing at him with an unsettling intensity.
