Lowo's reaction was quite different from what Ramisk had expected.
"Look here, Mr. Ramisk, this is my credit card from Rajha Investments Bank. Memorize the number of my account or take a photo if you want. Because what matters to me is that my money is deposited into this account."
Ramisk was surprised to hear such a thing from someone he had until now considered an innocent kid easily manipulated.
"I'm very sorry, Lowo, but it's not possible to do this right now."
"Well, do it. And here are the amounts you owe me, including interest and adjustment for the days I've been waiting to receive."
Still in disbelief, Ramisk took the small piece of paper Lowo handed him and began to read.
"Ten days of laboratory submission at 1500 liras = 15 thousand liras + interest for waiting for payment = 10 thousand liras. Total of 25 thousand liras."
"Are you crazy, kid? Where did you get this crazy idea that I owe you so much?"
"You are right. Actually, I didn't include the additions for the mistreatment suffered by your employees, which amount to an additional 25 thousand liras, making a total of 50 thousand liras."
Ramisk was becoming increasingly enraged and, if it weren't for the importance of today's test, he would never tolerate such an affront without taking terrible action against that calm and peaceful kid right next to him.
"Where do you think I'm going to find that much money to pay you?"
"Mr. Ramisk, just one of the tables in your office is already more expensive than that amount. Am I talking to a beggar or the richest man in this city?"
Ramisk shuddered. It was true; he was rich enough not to worry about such a small amount. Moreover, the presence of that kid in that circumstance was worth much more than that.
"Alright, Lowo. I know I owe you, but seeing how arrogant you are, I believe you won't stop with your greed."
"And why do you say that?"
Lowo asked, pretending to be innocent.
"Because you didn't charge me for today."
Lowo N'air gave a mischievous smile and said:
"And how much is my day today worth?"
Ramisk was a skilled negotiator but knew he didn't have time to waste with that kid. And if Mr. Domi arrived and saw him negotiating with Lowo, he would lose much more.
"How much are you willing to make off me, Lowo?"
"150 thousand liras and not a penny less."
"Just wait a moment."
Quickly going to the hidden part of his office, Ramisk left Lowo pondering and a bit anxious.
"What if he's going to get something dangerous to hurt me? Should I lower these amounts?"
"Done, kid. The amount I owed you has been deposited. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have someone to receive, and I believe you have work to do."
Lowo looked at his phone and couldn't believe it when he saw the message: "200 thousand liras have been deposited into your account."
He left the office with trembling legs, unable to believe what he had just read.
In less than five minutes, Lowo N'air was ready to connect to the device that would create the cocoon. Suddenly, a small commotion formed at the entrance of the laboratory, and everyone began to act as if the real boss had arrived.
Mr. Domi arrived, greeted Mr. Ramisk, and calmly observed all the equipment connected. He approached Dr. Carlie, giving her a brief and curt "good morning."
Ramisk noticed that there seemed to be no chemistry between the two.
Of course, at some point, the astute Ramisk thought that perhaps Dr. Carlie might have sabotaged the laboratory equipment. But for her to have done such a thing, she would need a very strong motive or someone very close to her. Seeing how she was treated by Mr. Domi, Ramisk immediately dismissed this idea.
"Do not turn on or activate any priority systems yet," Mr. Domi said while closely examining all the equipment connected to the young Lowo N'air.
The eccentric Dr. Koltz was also present but did not identify himself or even open his mouth to greet Mr. Domi. He preferred to watch the entire process from a distance, as he wanted to see the behavior of the person who had created the possibility of researching other worlds.
Mr. Domi seemed indifferent to everyone, as his attention was entirely focused on Lowo N'air. He observed the wiring, the medication tubes, and all other things connected to Lowo N'air and, finally, disconnected the piece that would be placed on Lowo N'air's head, replacing it with a three-pronged tiara.
