Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 - Hunt (Part 3)

"Let's go to him." Morgana smiled elegantly and dragged Bilqis to the drink counter. Although the goddess didn't want to go, she was pulled along.

If Bilqis had looked closely, she would have noticed that Morgana was more eager than she was to meet Daemom.

Unfortunately, the Queen of Sheba, a little tipsy, was entirely focused on Daemom, so she didn't notice anything unusual about her old friend.

Morgana and Bilqis sat on the stools in front of the counter and acted very differently from before; at that moment, they both seemed more dignified and elegant.

Two beautiful queens of powerful realms, which wasn't exactly a lie if you think about it, as they were both truly queens. Morgana, in particular, was one of the most famous.

Her legend was one of the most represented in modern pop culture, although it wasn't a very flattering image, as she was often portrayed as an antagonist against her half-brother, the famous Arthur Pendragon.

Daemom, seeing the two sitting in front of him, smiled and placed his hand over his chest, asking in a courteous and gentle tone, "What would the lovely ladies like to drink tonight?"

His smile remained unchanged despite the frightening look in the beautiful woman's green eyes and dark hair. A look that admittedly gave him chills.

What was that look?

If Daemom could describe it, it would be like a lion looking at its prey.

Daemom, who had begun to sense others' emotions a few days ago, couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of greed coming from the woman.

It wasn't a simple sense of greed like a normal human; in his eyes, this feeling had already turned into an almost tangible substance, swirling around the woman in an endless spiral of sins.

Daemom wondered if the Infernal Prince of Greed had an aura that matched or surpassed this woman's, which he found hard to believe.

Despite everything, he knew this woman was anything but simple, not just because she was beside Bilqis, but also due to the oppressive feeling emanating from her.

She was the second most powerful being he had encountered, the first being Belial, the Duke of Hell. Although Morgana gave him a less powerful feeling, she was equally formidable.

"Daemom, this is Morgana, an old friend of mine." Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, Bilqis showed an elegant expression and introduced her friend with a graceful and melodious tone. Her dark eyes, like two pearls, gazed deeply at Daemom.

"Morgana Le Fay. It's a pleasure to finally meet you; Bilqis has spoken a lot about you." Extending a hand covered by a black lace glove, Morgana introduced herself with an innocent and elegant smile.

Looking at the embarrassed Bilqis with her friend's words, Daemom replied in a playful tone, "I hope she spoke well of me."

Morgana merely laughed and didn't respond, her eyes gleaming as she looked at Daemom, as if she were constantly analyzing him.

During this brief exchange, Morgana discovered that Daemom was not exactly as described in God's prophecy; she was absolutely sure of that.

With over a thousand years of age and the experience of being a queen, she could discern a person's true character just by looking at them. It was an essential skill that any decent monarch should possess—something gained with time and experience.

"Daemom." Finally shaking her hand, Daemom introduced himself in return. He frowned, feeling her finger sensually slide across his palm.

This woman was seducing him very subtly, even with Bilqis right beside her.

But this only made Daemom's lips curl into an amused smile; he liked people who had attitude.

"No last name?" Morgana asked, seemingly casual, her eyes narrowing slightly as her lips curved into an inviting, amused smile.

'This woman is dangerous,' Daemom thought, and despite the caution he felt, his face remained warm and smiling.

"Just Daemom; my last name is a secret." With a smile on his lips, Daemom put a finger to his lips and responded playfully, with a hint of mystery.

"A mysterious man is always more interesting." Resting her head on her hand, Morgana spoke with a smile, her eyes locked on Daemom's without breaking contact for a second.

Daemom just blinked and let out a low, amused laugh. "Discover my secrets, milady."

"I will~" Morgana also let out a laugh full of interest and responded, discreetly licking her lips.

Bilqis blinked a few times, listening to their conversation, and quickly realized they were flirting!

"Morgana." Gritting her teeth, Bilqis gave her friend a dangerous look. Although she knew Morgana might just be teasing her to make her angry, it didn't make her any happier.

"Don't be a petty woman, Bilqis." Morgana didn't care about her friend's increasingly dangerous look and smiled.

Daemom Morningstar.

Morgana read the name from his mind and found it incredibly fitting for the prince of Hell. From his reluctance to reveal his last name, it was clear that Daemom already knew of his origins.

Just thinking about how the Holy Church was spreading news about its newest Special Order exorcism made Morgana want to laugh.

When the Church discovered that the one they were excited to welcome with open arms was actually the Antichrist, it would definitely be a historic moment to see the Holy Pope's face. A laugh escaped the lips of the former queen of Camelot.

The laugh caught the attention of Bilqis and Daemom, who looked at her with confused expressions.

Realizing that she had let her thoughts slip, Morgana spoke in an amused tone, "I remembered something funny."

Daemom and Bilqis rolled their eyes at her; it was obvious to them that she was laughing at them, which made the Queen of Sheba's dark eyes increasingly dangerous.

Noticing this, Morgana changed the subject and showed a serious expression, her voice tinged with a touch of coldness. "A child was killed, all their organs were devoured."

When she said this, Bilqis also showed a displeased expression. Although she didn't care about the life of an unknown child, her disdain for demons made her show such an expression.

"It was an imp; they like internal organs." Daemom heard Amara speaking in his mind. The snake slid under his shirt and came out through the collar, wrapping around his neck.

Daemom's face turned particularly cold upon hearing Amara's words. He gritted his teeth and suppressed the feeling of guilt. It felt as if snakes had bitten his heart countless times, making him feel an overwhelming sense of remorse.

In his eyes, a child had died because of him, and he felt that he would carry this guilt for eternity.

Morgana's eyes deeply analyzed Daemom's expression, and what she saw left her extremely satisfied.

Even without any talent related to emotions, Morgana could see in Daemom's eyes that he blamed himself for the death of a completely unknown child.

The Antichrist, the one prophesied to bring the Apocalypse by God, was unexpectedly a sweet, charismatic teenager with an unexpected sentimentality.

Morgana bit her lips and suppressed her excitement. Daemom was a rough gem that needed to be polished before he could shine with all his splendor. And she wanted to be the one to shape this gem; she wanted to make him a powerful and unparalleled monarch. In return for her help, she only wanted power—power to surpass all witches and perhaps even angels and demons.

Daemom Morningstar was her staircase to ascension, and she wanted to climb with the Prince of Hell to the very top, where the greatest prize of all awaited—the Abyssal Throne of Hell.

Of course, Morgana knew she couldn't sit on the Abyssal Throne of Hell, but she could stand beside him, just as Lilith, the Mother of All Monsters and Abominations, had done with Lucifer.

"Thank you, Bilqis; if it weren't for you, I would never have had an opportunity like this. You truly are my best friend of all time," Morgana thought as she tenderly kissed Bilqis on the cheek.

The Queen of Sheba looked at her friend in confusion at the unexpected kiss, but didn't ask, seeing the grateful expression on Morgana's face.
