Each time their weapons clashed, golden flames and lightning flew in all directions, illuminating Daemom and Menrill's faces. With every strike, every swing of their weapons, both could feel the raw strength of the other.
Menrill, in particular, grew weaker with each attack Daemom delivered. It wasn't because his endurance couldn't withstand a high-consumption duel, but because the golden flames and holy energy were especially potent against demonic beings.
The demon was fully aware of his body's condition but couldn't stop fighting—not when the exorcist was becoming increasingly skilled in the art of the sword.
At the beginning of the fight, Menrill could easily overpower his opponent with his skillful use of the club. Now, he had to stay serious; otherwise, his opponent's exceptionally sharp sword would decapitate him the moment he let his guard down.
