I finally accepted the phone from Su Yeon with trembling hands and plopped the phone against my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Aera!" A chilly voice boomed at the other end.
I quivered a little as the voice sent a chill down my spine.
It was as if I had been expecting the call all along.
But for some reason, I wasn't geared up to respond to the caller yet, but I had to.
"Who is this?" I questioned, my voice low and pretentiously calm like still waters.
"Oh, it is I, your doctor." He replied and a cool wave of calmness watched over me.
I let out a fragile sigh as I didn't realize I had been holding my breath ever since I plopped the phone against my ear to receive the phone call.
"Oh, hello…" I managed to say to him. "To what do I owe a phone call from you today, Dr. Lee?" I inquired, placing my hand against the car for a little support while Su Yeon took that as a cue and she quickly opened the door for me.
