MARYAM'S POV
Tuesday THE 17th June.
"The memory loss, I thought you would know better than me, but I guess I am the one who does accordingly to you reaction, well I was also lonely and again i feel like I can trust you" i said as i clenched my fingers together.
"Okay" she said coldly, I have been the one yapping all these time and she barely answers me.
"You don't trust me I guess" I said in a low tone "what was I expecting in the beginning, well it was worth the shot"
"I don't know, but what are the odds?" She asked.
"Odds of?" What was she talking about?
"The odds that you are here perfectly fine, not only that but you also remember things, did you even come here to see me or you just came here to pity me" she said, I was disappointed what did she mean by that? She wants the one bounded to a wheelchair was she? I was so what is she talking about?
"Perfectly fine? You are the one who is perfectly fine here, I can't even walk" I said to her.
"Oh" she said.
"I am sorry about that" she added as she finally said something remorseful "Okay, do you have a cell phone?" She asked.
"Yes I do, do you?" I asked back.
"Yes, so you want to switch numbers?" She asked, finally I've gotten her to trust me, I guess talking about my legs really made her feel empathy for me, well I really like that.
"Sure" I said as I handed her my phone for her to input her number there for me.
"Well I thought you might need some snacks so I got you some" I said to her with a smile on my face.
"Okay thanks" she said as she handed back my phone to me.
I was short of words to say, I thought she would be more welcoming, I don't know I thought she was more friendly, maybe it was the environment, i guess I overestimated myself with this one.
"Is that all you came here for?" She asked as she stood up from her seat.
"Well that's pretty much it" I said.
"Okay then, I would be leaving now, take care of yourself" she said as she proceeded to walk away from me.
"Won't you take the snacks?" I asked as she stoped moving and turned around.
"Sure, where is it?" She asked.
"The car" I said as I pressed on the button on my wheelchair and I started controlling it, it was automatic.
"Let's go then" she said as she continued walking and I wheeled myself.
"It's ths way" I pointed to the parking space where the driver parked the car.
"You came alone?" She asked me.
"No, my driver came with me" I responded to her question "can you please help us carry the things we brought for her" I instructed the driver to, as it would be too heavy for her to carry alone and I was of no help.
We turned back and started moving into the orphanage again, but this time around we were going nyo the residential side, where the girls stayed.
"I brought some other things I think you'll need, everything is inside the bag" I said to her.
"We are here" she said as she pointed to a door that was closed "you would have to drop it here, no men allowed" she said as she held the door knob.
He proceeded to drop the bag in the floor as he started going back to the garage where the car was, she then opened the door and went inside the bedroom locking me outside, how rude.
"Click" after what felt like a decade passed she opened the door and some girls came out the room to help her with the bag.
"Hi, where are our manners please come in" one of the older looking girls that came out of the room with her siad as she also gestures with her hands for me to come inside the house with her.
"Thank you" I said as I whelled myself into the room.
"Hi, I'm jasmine this is Aisha, that's Zainab,..... And that's Layla you've already met her" she introduced everyone in the room to me.
"Nice to meet you all, I am Maryam" I said, they all stared ste like they just saw a ghost.
"Maryam?" The girl named Aisha said in a surprised tone.
"Yes, Maryam is there any problem?" I asked as they all kept on staring at me like they just found the missing piece of a puzzle.
"The pleasure is all ours" she said as she walked closer to me and held my hands.
"You did not come with any help?" Zainab asked.
"No just my driver" I replied.
"Why didn't you?" Jasmine asked, are they interrogating me?
"Well Dana my physiotherapist said I shouldn't come here and as I insisted she said she wasn't going to come with me, Jane is still not back from the trip she followed mom and dad to and Stella was instructed not to leave the house by my dad" i can't believe I am revealing all this information about myself to these girls, people i just met and allĀ i know about them are their names.
"Dana? Dana Jones?" Zainab asked.
"Yes, I think that's her name, you know Dana?" I asked.
"Yes" the girls exchanged glances at eachother for a while before Aisha whispered "just tell her, i think we can trust her if she knows dana".
"Well Dana is not a physiotherapist, she's a police officer who works undercover, and I wonder why she would be doing so in your home, is everything okay there?" Zainab asked.
"Well I do feel some type of weird vibe from Jane, but she has been acting cool lately" I said, and after Dana came she stood force feeding me those nasty medication.
"Shhh Mr Joseph is coming" a girl from behind said, as they all began to regroup again, this time only jasmine and Layla were left with me.
"Oh Maryam, I thought you had left already" Mr Joseph said as he entered the room, I thought no males are supposed to enter the room.
"Was just about to leave, I just dropped the snacks with her" I said with a smile.
"Okay then, let me show you your way out we have something to discuss" he said.
"Oh, visit us some other time, we liked your company" jasmine said as I began to wheel my chair out of the room, the girls mood just changed all of a sudden that's weird.
