Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

The car came to an halt at a very huge mansion. Before the old driver could alight from the car, Xin Yan had already done so.

She heaved a sigh. Once again, she believed she was really back. The mansion was still the same as it was. As her grandparents were getting in on the years, they had moved to the suburbs to enjoy themselves.

She knocked on the door and it was opened almost immediately as though they were awaiting her presence.

Due to her excitement of seeing her grandparents again, she didn't notice an unknown car which didn't belong to their family.

"You are back young miss," the butler who had opened up the door greeted her with a smile.

She smiled without saying anything. She didn't feel anything for this butler who had served her grandparents for a long time. Why was it that way?

This was because he was one of the major reasons her grandparents had died. Before she was thrown off the tower, Jiang Lanfen had specifically told her the butler was bought over by them.

She also told her that her grandparents were slowly poisoned and it was done by this butler who was working for Jiang Lanfen.

She frowned when she recalled that specific information. It seems she had to take her grandparents for a checkup and force out all the poison in their bodies.

According to what she knew, they must have been taking the poison for a while but the effects only showed in about a month's time.

"Where are my grandparents?" She asked the butler.

"They are presently waiting for you in the tea-room, alongside a guest," the butler replied.

"There's a guest?" Xin Yan stopped in her tracks as she turned to look at the butler.

"Yes young miss," the butler replied. He looked at her and frowned. She was different. He didn't know why he thought that way but she was different.

"A guest? Who's that?" She asked, sounding doubtful.

"I suggest the young miss finds out herself," the butler replied, with no intention of telling her who it was.

She squinted at him, seemingly having something to say but at the end, she calmly tore her eyes off him and walked in the direction of the tea-room.

She stopped at the door as she tried to listen on but she didn't hear anything.

'Oh, how can I forget? The rooms are obviously soundproof,' she mentally face-palmed.

She heaved a sigh before opening the door to the room.

"Grandpa, grandma," she obediently called out and that was when the attention was shifted to her.

"Yanyan," her grandpa called out with a sweet smile.

"I'm home," she announced with a smile.

"Silly girl, you finally decided to come back," grandma Xin immediately stood up as she approached her.

Xin Yan shrank back. She had always been afraid of her grandma but she knew she loved her so much.

"Relax silly girl, I won't hit you," her grandma said with a smile and that was when she calmed down a bit.

"Who's this?" Xin Yan suddenly noticed the unfamiliar face when her grandmother brought her to the table.

The person to whom she was unfamiliar with raised his head. She squinted at the unfamiliar man and frowned.

She didn't know why she felt some sort of familiarity with him when it was clear she hasn't met him, even in her previous life.

"Ah, Yanyan, hi's name is Li Qiang, the president of Li's corporation, his grandpa is a very good friend of mine, I'm sure you know grandpa Li," grandpa Xin enthusiastically introduced them both.

"Hi Mr. Li, my name is Xin Yan," Xin Yan greeted politely.

She had an idea that he might know her name but she's been thought basic courtesy and she won't let go of what she was thought.

"Li Qiang," he replied simply. He didn't talk much or rather he had no idea on what he was to say.

"Come on Qiang, your attitude can scare my granddaughter away, come Yanyan, have tea with us," grandpa Xin immediately pulled Xin Yan as he forced her to sit beside Li Qiang.

A cup of tea was suddenly pushed towards Xin Yan and she looked up to see her grandparents' enthusiastic looks. They wanted her to drink it.

She smiled before she took a sip. She felt a burst of flavours on her taste buds. It was the best tea she had ever drunk.

"Grandma, I see your brewing skill has improved once more," Xin Yan praised her grandma as she took a sip once more.

"I wasn't the one who brewed the tea, it was Qiang," grandma Xin clarified.

Xin Yan was taken aback. She looked at the man who held the economy of China right in his palms. She couldn't believe that he actually brewed tea and it was this good.

"Your brewing skills are amazing Mr. Li," Xin Yan praised him sincerely.

"Hmm," he grunted in response as he picked up his cup to take a sip. It was an attempt to cover up his smile.

"If I may ask, why's Mr. Li here?" Xin Yan couldn't stop herself from asking.

"Xin Yan, we have something to say to you."

Xin Yan paused in drinking. Whenever her grandfather called her full name, it always meant he was serious.

'What was wrong now?' She asked herself before putting her cup on the table.

"Actually Xin Yan, we know the situation at the company, you have indulged that kid a lot, but he is not serious about you," grandpa Xin carefully muttered.

"I know grandpa," Xin Yan mumbled. She could not help but feel bad seeing how cautious her grandfather acted with her.

"You know?" Her grandfather carefully questioned.

"I know Yuan Renshu was playing me, I have broken up with him," she announced with a smile which surprised her grandparents.

"You are not making things up, are you?" Grandma Xin asked, doubting her words.

It couldn't be helped that they found her words unbelievable. Xin Yan had set her heart on Yuan Renshu.

They had already decided that if she didn't agree to their demands today, they had no choice than to accept Yuan Renshu.

But Xin Yan's reaction today was something unexpected.

"Then, since you have broken up with him, are you going to remove him from his post?" Her grandfather carefully asked.

"Where's the fun if I just remove him that way? I have something planned out for him," a mischievous smile appeared on Xin Yan's face and this smile got Li Qiang attracted to her.

"You mean?" Grandma Xin asked excitedly and she nodded. They shared a tacit understanding between each other.
