"It's good that you have come back to your senses," grandpa Xin was extremely happy.
"Grandpa, are you directly saying I wasn't in my right senses previously?" Xin Yan coquettishly asked as she moved to her grandpa's side.
"Forget it, it's good you have broken up with him, we actually have something we want to discuss with you," grandpa Xin changed from being cheerful to being serious.
"What is it grandpa?" At this moment, Xin Yan had already forgotten that there was an outsider in the form of Li Qiang.
"The thing is we actually planned for you to get married to Li Qiang."
"This is for your own good Yanyan, at the end of the day, Yuan Renshu has deeply infiltrated into the core of the business, we need someone who can deter him and the people he has planted in there," grandpa Xin hurriedly explained, seeing that she had a frown on her face.
Xin Yan frowned as she shot a look at the man who was seated calmly. He unhurriedly took small sips from his cup of tea, seemingly uninterested.
"Grandma, grandpa, can I trouble you both to leave us?" Xin Yan asked and they hurriedly left the tea-room. They wanted something to blossom between the both of them and it won't work if they are both present in the room.
"Mr. Li," she called as she observed him. She wanted to know his thoughts. Why did he agree to the ridiculous demands from both grandparents?
The way things were going was totally different from what she expected or what she had planned for. Even in her past life, her grandparents never brought up any topics about marriage.
'Could it be because I had broken up with Yuan Renshu?' She questioned herself, seemingly coming to a conclusion.
"I advise miss Xin say what she wants to say, we are both busy people," Li Qiang's low baritone voice suddenly sounded which jolted her out of her thoughts.
"I'm sorry about that, I just want to ask, do you really want to marry me?" She tapped her fingers on the table as she awaited his answer.
Li Qiang looked at the girl blankly, his expression betraying no emotions he felt within himself.
He continued staring at her causing Xin Yan to squirm under his gaze.
'Why is he looking at me that way?' She asked herself but she didn't say anything, she only met his gaze calmly even if it was imposing.
Sensing she was not comfortable with him staring at her, Li Qiang calmly retracted his gaze.
"Do I want to get married to you? Of course I want to, that will mean one less enemy to take care of, the alliance between both of our families can strengthen our business, I won't let go of such a good idea," he replied to her question.
"That's good, it's great you see this as a business deal," Xin Yan visibly heaved a sigh of relief which made Li Qiang panic, though he hid it properly.
'What makes her think I will see this marriage as a deal? Is she okay?' He thought to himself as he scrutinized her, trying to find out what she was thinking but she hid her expressions really well, just the same way he did his.
"Why do you refer it to as a deal?" He was still speechless at her sense of reasoning.
"Because I'm sure you don't love me, I also don't love you, so it's a deal," Xin Yan said with a smile in her eyes, that smile attracting Li Qiang.
'Oh, Yanyan, I love you so much and I will make you fall in love with me, that's a fact,' he thought to himself as he envisioned how their lives will be after they had married.
He cleared his throat, "if that's what you think it to be, then it's a deal," he said to her and he didn't miss out on the smile she had on her face.
"But I will have to ask miss Xin, do you want to get married to me?" Li Qiang asked, his eyes revealing a rare hint of mischief.
He was sure the marriage was a done deal but he wanted to hear it from her mouth.
"If I didn't want to marry you, I would not have said it was a deal," Xin Yan looked at him as she doubted his intelligence quotient.
"So miss Xin wants to get married to me?" Li Qiang asked with a calm smile.
"Of course, I will get married to you," Xin Yan was sort of annoyed. Her doubts about his IQ rose.
'Why was he asking silly questions?' She asked herself, wondering if the rumors about his high IQ were just rumors.
She was tempted to believe they were just rumors as he wasn't acting smart as she would have expected.
"Well, it's settled, what sort of wedding do you want miss Xin?" He asked as he looked at her with interest.
"I don't have any big plans about weddings, I didn't even know I will get married after I have broken up with Yuan Renshu, but I just want my enemies to be aware of my marriage, that's my one wish."
Xin Yan didn't say much but Li Qiang understood what she wanted just with those few words of hers.
"Don't worry miss Xin, no, it seems I have to address you as Yanyan henceforth," Li Qiang beamed.
"Whatever you wish to call me," she spoke nonchalantly but her nonchalance was actually a cover up to how she felt.
As she beheld his smile, she couldn't help but think that he had the most beautiful smile that she had ever seen.
"So am I permitted to call you Yanyan?" He asked, staring straight into her eyes.
"Yes you can," she wanted to snap at him but just one look into his eyes, she became submissive.
He had dark eyes and those eyes looked as though they could see right through you. It had the ability to suck even the strongest people in.
"Alright Yanyan, you only need to look pretty, as for the preparation for the wedding, just leave everything to the elders, they know what to do," Li Qiang had faith in them, therefore Xin Yan didn't bother about it anymore.
"I have looked into the issues of your company, we need to dismiss the people whom Yuan Renshu has placed in power without your knowledge," Li Qiang went straight to business.
They talked about a lot and Li Qiang was impressed. He had no idea she was this knowledgeable. He put aside his surprise as they both exchanged ideas. The atmosphere between the both of them was harmonious.
They didn't even know that time had passed until they were called for dinner by one of the maids.
"Grandpa, grandma," Xin Yan called obediently when they reached the dining table.
"Grandpa Xin, grandma Xin," Li Qiang also addressed them as they stood beside each other.
They looked compatible with each other and due to the high impact of their visuals, they were both pleasing to the eye.
"Yanyan, Qiang, have your seats, Qiang, have dinner with us before you go back, okay?" Grandma Xin tried to persuade him.
It was well-known that Li Qiang hated having dinner in other people's homes.
Li Qiang turned to look at the girl who was at the moment staring at him also as she waited for his decision.
"Of course grandma, I'll love to have dinner with you and my soon-to-be wife," he said with a beautiful smile as he naturally took a seat.
Xin Yan looked at him, stunned, 'where did he put his shame?' She thought to herself, completely doubting all the rumors she had heard about him.
