Chapter 25 - The way she care

Kassandra's POV

I carried my husband. I'm glad I was trained to carry around 100 to 200 kilograms. It was easy for me to carry my husband, who might weigh 50–70 kilograms.

I carried him behind me because it would be awkward if it were princess-style. People might think of it as a weird situation.

I don't want him to lose his reputation. I opened the tent and made him sit in the meantime. I fixed the bed and made sure he would be comfortable.

I carried him in my arms and laid him down. I smiled when I saw how beautiful he was while sleeping.

"I wish you'd be as quiet and less dangerous when you're awake. You look better without those cold and scary eyes," I whispered. I touch his hair while grinning.

I pulled the blanket. I have to go back and continue cooking for dinner. "I'm sorry… Stop it!" he says. I turned around and saw his face. He is having a nightmare!

"Stop! I didn't mean to! I didn't want to do that! Please, stop!" he screams.

He is trembling as well. I grab his hand and let him feel my warmth. My big brother always does this whenever I'm having a nightmare, and it wakes me up.

"I'm here. Don't be afraid, Your Majesty," I whispered.

I keep on repeating that same phrase, and a few minutes later, he settles down. He's not trembling or mumbling anymore.

Prince Noah must have been thinking of something scary or related to his unluckiness. I can't blame him for that. I let go of his palm and smiled.

"Just take a rest as much as you want, Prince Kalix. I know you're tired yourself."

I walked away and checked on the situation. The servants, as well as my husband's men and me, were feeding the patients first.

After that, we all eat what is left for dinner. I already separate a meal for my husband just in case he'll wake up later at night.

"Where are the soldiers who will be patrolling tonight?" I ask. They all stood up.

"Make sure to guard this place and wake up the nurses or doctors just in case the patients need their help. Just in case something happens, call me right away. Am I clear?" I ask.

They nodded. I also spoke with Enrique and told him that he'd be the one who spoke with their men, especially because of his position. I went to our tent and checked on my husband's situation. I smiled when I saw him.

Prince Kalix was already awake. He was about to put on his shoes. "I already speak with my men and with Enrique. Have your dinner first and go back to bed. It's already late at night," I remarked.

I placed the tray on the table next to him. I sit next to him and place my hand on his forehead.

"What the hell are you doing?!" he asks. I blink.

"I'm just making sure you're not sick, Your Majesty. Here, have this potage while it's still warm. It will make your stomach warm. I know you've been doing your best, and the villagers are grateful because you never ignored them, no matter what happened," I remarked.

He takes the bowl and sips. He looks at me. "It was you who learned the reason why they keep on getting worse. It's not me. I am glad we are not too late, Kassandra" Prince Noah replied.

I shake my head. "But you still send doctors and food for them, especially since they're struggling. It only happens that the water being used for drinking and cooking was contaminated," I replied.

I heard what the villagers were saying. They didn't blame the doctors or even his majesty because it takes a while to discover the cause of their situation.

They're grateful instead because he didn't give up on them. I guess they still love him even if they know his situation. I knew he'd be a good ruler himself.

I cut the meat on his plate before feeding him. "Here, have a bite."

He blinks and looks at me. "I can feed myself," Prince Noah says. He grabs the fork and tastes the meat. I just hold the plate.

"By the way, Albert told me that their new well will be ready in two days. Axel and the other doctors told me that the medication was going well. The resident body is responding pretty well. In no such time, this place will go back to its lively nature," I reported. I saw that beautiful smile on his lips. I'm glad it reaches his beautiful eyes.

"Thank you for finding out the reason why Easton villagers are suffering. If you didn't discover it yet, there will be casualties that I didn't want to happen," Prince Noah says.

I was surprised because he thanked me, but at the same time, it made me happy. I didn't respond and ruin the moment. I just choose to enjoy it.

After he ate his meal, I went outside and put them in the place where the dishes would be cleaned.

I saw Arida and Enrique, who were having tea but not even talking to each other. Are they mad at each other or what? I held my chin.

"I can sense awkwardness between them," I whispered. "I think it's because of their misunderstanding after lunch," Axel says.

I was startled when my army's doctor was standing next to me. "You should be taking a rest, Axel," I said. He just shrugs his shoulder and looks at me.

"I should be the one telling you that, general," he replied. I look at Arida and Enrique again. My vice general leaves the table and sits where the other soldiers are.

I saw how she rolled her eyes at him. "What happened? Why do they seem to hate each other's guts, Axel?" I ask.

He points out something. I noticed the muddy area. That's where the water from washing the dishes falls.

Don't tell me one of them pushes each other on that mud pit. I know Arida well. She won't act like that if she's not really mad at you or something. I sighed.

"Just tell me the story already," I remarked. Axel laughs.

"Sir Enrique accidentally throws soapy water at Arida's face. She was mad because he laughed after, and it was already late when he said sorry," he says.

I guess my vice general had the right to get mad. That's a bit embarrassing on her part. But I don't want them to act like this. I better do something.

"I have to go back to my room. You should take a rest too. The villagers still need our help," I stated.

Axel bows his head. We walked away and went to the places where we should sleep. I was holding my chin and looking a little lower when I bumped into something as I got inside.

I was stunned. "Your majesty? What are you doing?" I ask. I was surprised when I saw him standing in front of me.
