Chapter 29 - Chapter 26

August's tears ceased, and a smile began to spread across his face as he clutched the toy tightly.

"Thank you," William said, his voice filled with gratitude, as August's sniffling subsided, replaced by a renewed sense of joy. Yuna's expression remained stern, but a hint of softness crept into her eyes.

Yuna decided to relocate to the living room to work on her assignments, seeking to spend quality time with her Uncle William and August before the day slipped away.

She had a multitude of topics to discuss with her uncle, but as she delved into her work, she found herself constantly stopping to interrupt him with conversations.

Uncle William, however, struggled to balance Yuna's persistent chatter with August's demands for attention. "Can we talk later, after you finish your homework?" he asked, his tone gentle but hinting at a need for rest.

William had been looking forward to a well-deserved break when he arrived, after a grueling schedule of back-to-back concerts that had left him physically and mentally exhausted. Adding to his fatigue was the responsibility of caring for August, who required constant attention and energy.

Yuna's face fell, her disappointment evident, but she understood the importance of completing her tasks. She couldn't afford to leave her work unfinished, knowing it would only lead to a heavier workload the next day. With a determined mindset, she devoted herself to finishing her assignments

Meanwhile, August's excitement filled the room as he chanted "Hide and seek! Hide and seek!" Uncle William agreed, and the two embarked on a game, with William counting out loud and August giggling with glee.

Yuna watched her uncle with a nostalgic gaze, remembering the countless times they had played together when she was younger, just the two of them. But now, as she observed Uncle William showering August with the same love and attention, Yuna felt a pang of melancholy wash over her. The realization that she was no longer the sole recipient of her uncle's affections brought a tinge of sadness, a reminder that time and circumstances had changed their dynamics.
