As the next day dawned, Yuna arose and began her morning routine, only to discover that a delicious breakfast had been prepared for her.
However, Kaida herself was nowhere to be found, leaving Yuna to wonder about the distance between them.
As Yuna returned home from school, she was met with a similar scenario - a carefully prepared dinner awaited her, but Kaida was conspicuously absent. Instead, simple notes had been left on the kitchen counter.
This peculiar routine continued throughout the entire school days, with Yuna finding meticulously prepared meals in Kaida's absence. The silence was deafening, and Yuna couldn't help but feel a growing sense of loneliness, why was she maintaining such a distance? The question swirled in Yuna's mind like a persistent whisper, refusing to be silenced.
The weekend finally arrived, Yuna indulged in the luxury of sleeping in, rising from her slumber around 8 am. With no pressing schedule to adhere to, she relished the freedom to linger in bed.
Eventually, she got dressed in a casual top and comfortable shorts, ambling downstairs to start her day with breakfast.
To her surprise, Kaida was in the kitchen, expertly plating a delectable dish. It had been a while since Yuna had last seen Kaida, their paths rarely crossing during the busy week.
This unexpected encounter brought a faint smile to Yuna's lips, her eyes involuntarily lingering on Kaida's graceful movements. However, she quickly suppressed her reaction, chiding herself for the unintended display of emotion.
"Morning! You're finally up?" Kaida said with a warm invitation, "Come have breakfast."
Yuna slid into a seat at the table, noticing, just like before, that the portion prepared was solely for her. As she gazed down at the appetizing food, she posed the question that had been on her mind. "A-Aren't you joining me for breakfast?" She asked, her curiosity piqued.
Kaida's smile, a radiant and constant presence, illuminated her face. "I've already eaten, thanks for the invite" she replied, her warmth and kindness evident in her tone. "You should eat before it gets cold," she reminded Yuna, before heading upstairs, leaving Yuna to her meal.
As Yuna ate, she felt a familiar sense of solitude settle in.
Once she finished, she left the dishes untouched, a departure from her usual habit of washing them. Today, she simply couldn't muster the energy.
