Chapter 22 - Chapter 20

With a sigh, she retreated to her room, determined to tackle her assignments, which had been looming large.

Yuna delved into her studies but she began to feel the weight of fatigue midway through her work. Concluding that a break and a change of scenery were necessary, she descended to the living room, seeking a brief respite.

She turned on the TV and began watching a movie she had downloaded, "Night Has Fallen" a thriller that had been generating buzz among her classmates.

Yuna became engrossed in the movie, unaware that Kaida had silently joined her, sitting on the opposite sofa, also watching the movie. It wasn't until a particularly jarring scene prompted Yuna to squeal that she noticed Kaida's presence, her smile a subtle acknowledgement of Yuna's reaction.

Yuna quickly regained her composure, refocusing on the movie. She couldn't help but steal glances at Kaida from time to time, her gaze drawn to the quiet, enigmatic figure. As the movie reached its most intense and gruesome moments, Yuna's discomfort grew, her tolerance for thrillers wearing thin.

Just then, the doorbell rang, providing a welcome distraction. "I'll get it!" Yuna announced, eager to escape the movie's tension.Approaching the monitoring camera, she saw a delivery man, his face obscured by his blue cap, his eyes hidden behind sunglasses.

Puzzled, Yuna opened the door, and the man announced "Delivery." His face remained hidden, leaving Yuna uncertain about the package's intended recipient.

She wondered if it might be for Kaida, but Kaida who had come to check up on her denies suggesting otherwise.

The delivery man insisted that the address was correct, and the package was for Yuna Pearce.

Perplexed, Yuna considered the possibility that her parents might have sent it, maybe a gift or a care package. With a shrug, she accepted the package, struggling slightly with its unexpected weight and bulkiness. She carried it to the living room, her eyes fixed on the package's label, searching for any clues. As she released her grip on the package, it fell onto the sofa with a dull thud, its contents shifting audibly. The sudden sound was followed by a faint, high-pitched exclamation - "Ow!" - that seemed to emanate from within the package itself. Yuna's eyes widened in surprise, her heart skipping a beat as she felt a jolt of unexpected alarm.
