Kristen then continued reading, her voice once again filling the room with its soothing cadence. Each word, each sentence felt like music to my ears.

As she read, I felt a deep sense of contentment. Our relationship was built on moments like these, moments of quiet intimacy where the world outside ceased to matter. We had our share of complexities and uncertainties, but in these simple, shared experiences, we found solace and strength.

When she finally closed the book for real, she looked at me with a smile. "I think that's enough for tonight," she said, her voice soft and warm.

I nodded, feeling a wave of gratitude for this moment, for her presence in my life. "Thank you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"For what?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her eyes.

"For being you," I replied simply. "And for sharing this moment with me."

She smiled, a beautiful, genuine smile that lit up her face. "Anytime, Karim. Anytime."
