Chapter 7: Training with my pops
What was the one thing Astrid hated about this world? Training with his old man.
His father was a magic swordsman, just like him, and dedicated training Astrid himself, though only occasionally. During such occasions, he was trained...no not trained, beaten till he shed tears of blood.
He still regret showing his high mental fortitude, cause he wouldn't be going through what he was going through right now, if not for his blatant mouth.
Although, it's because of his father that he was even able to keep his own with his sisters, he still hated training with him. He was tortured. He wasn't allowed to go home until he hit his father at least once, and to tell you the truth....he was never joking and actually kept to his words. He beat his son mercilessly, as though he didn't come out of his genitals.
He was only allowed breaks only when he had completely lost consciousness, who does that to a 5 year old? Do not only did the dumb man give him a bitchy name, he also acted like a sadistic gorilla as well.
While watching the anime, he had never seen him displaying such characteristics. Perhaps it was because he never really had a boy to be this harsh on, or his characteristics changed ever since Astrid came into his life, no one knew.
Astrid was currently being dragged by his father into the large plain he and Aria fought on a few hours back.
Astrid continuously wailed in pain as he was being dragged by the ear by his father, constantly ranting out blatant curses. "Ahhh! Fuck! This shit hurts, you stupid bitch, I will handle you on the field."
Orion's face contorted in annoyance, hearing what the 5 year old child was blurting out. He had long gotten tired of trying to stop his current attitude and always feigned ignorance at this point.
Soon, they ended up reaching the open field, spanning dozens of kilometers. A field large enough to even handle fights between High Class Mages and Swordsmen, fights that could destroy entire continents wouldn't even be able to create a dent on the field.
The World of Swords and Sorcery was very large, easily five times the size of Earth. Luckily, in this world, they had already developed reasonable technology that permitted teleportation.
There was no way Aria would've reached the central continent in a day, she would've taken weeks if not months to get there. So all she had to do was get to the nearest teleportation gate and pay a sum, before she was teleported to wherever she wanted.
Orion turned and faced Astrid who was standing up from the ground, after being dragged the whole way, his voice stern and serious, different from when he addressed his daughters. "Stand up Astrid...Faking won't allow you to skip this!"
Astrid grunted in reply, he lazily stood up and sighed, "Let's get this over with old man...I am expecting a visitor, hand me my sword."
Orion smiled sadistically, removing two wooden swords from his ring. This rings where the storage medium used in Swords and Sorcery. Each ring varied in spaces, and it's those that where used to determine how much each one costs.
Although each ring was expensive, and even medium level nobles had a hard time buying such rings. It was still considered trash to his father who was considered the richest man in the entire 5 continents, second only to the king.
Orion threw Astrid one of the wooden swords, and constructed a magic barrier in mere milliseconds. The runes surrounding the magic barrier glowing an ethereal light.
Astrid never got tired of seeing this stupid ass magic barrier. It basically prevented him from dying no matter how many times he got struck by his father. Anytime he was struck, his injuries would heal in the blink of an eye later. The pain will still remain fresh on his brain though, and that overload of pain being sent to his brain was what always sent him to sleep.
Even though Orion tried his best to restrict his strength, he was still a Blade Archon of the Elements. Someone strong enough to send multiple beasts into a frenzy with his presence alone.
Astrid swung his sword around, his swings sharp and precise as they made a whooshing sound in the air. He then went into a stance, before rushing towards Orion with amazing speed, despite his age.
He jumped and did a downward swing, aiming for Orion's head, his father only moved sideways a little, as he watched the sword pass him at a slow speed. Astrid immediately followed up with a sharp and strong slash to his side.
But sadly, Orion dodged that with ease as well, bending down at such a low height that Astrid's eyes widened in surprise, still shocked how the old man was so flexible at his old age.
Astrid kept following each swing one after the other, each swing carrying enough power to snap a lion's neck in half, but at last, his father kept on dodging and evading each and every strike.
Hell, he hadn't even raised his sword a single time throughout the beginning of the fight.
Suddenly, as another of Astrid's swings managed to miss Orion, Astrid's hair stood on edge as he finally sensed the old man making a move. He truly wanted to evade the swing his father had thrown at him so suddenly, but was completely frozen in fear as he watched the wooden sword making its way towards his abdomen.
*Pow*
Astrid coughed out as the sword landed on his guts, the red mark on his stomach back to his normal complexion as he inhaled and exhaled, trying to catch his breathe.
"Your swings are carrying to much strength...learn to allow the sword guide your arms instead."
*Pow* Another heavy swing landed on his shoulder. Hell Astrid thought his bone had popped as he contorted in pain, imaginery tears formed on his eye as he cursed out in his mind, 'fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I can never get used to this pain, which idiot treats a 5 year ild child like this, why does it seem like animals are smarter than this old fart all of a sudden!'
"Your body is to stiff, your movements are to slow as well, clear your mind...you are thinking way to much, use your young age to your advantage!"
*Pow* *Pow*
He landed two consecutive hits on Astrid's legs making him fall on the floor, his mind slowly going blank, but he still held on. He knew his father too much to know that this was just the beginning.
