Chief!" Amaya rushed to Vesna's side as she stepped out of the elevator. "You're finally here."
She fell into step beside Vesna, matching her brisk pace as they made their way across the office.
"The look on your face tells me we've got trouble," she said barely glancing toward Amaya, her tone matter-of-fact.
The secretaries on this floor barely glanced up as Vesna and Amaya passed. They had long since grown used to the mysterious woman's presence and no longer questioned her right to enter the CEO's office without an appointment. Though none of them knew exactly who she was or what her connection to the company entailed, the exact nature of her relationship with their boss, they understood that she was someone important.
When the two entered the office, they found Chris pacing back and forth anxiously, his brow furrowed with concern. His head snapped up when he saw Vesna, and he let out a deep sigh of relief.
"Finally!" Chris exclaimed.
