Chapter 39 - 39

Back in the Dark Demon Realm, Gul'Dan was pursuing Furia like a madman possessed.

He was not all that smart and was quite a simple-minded demon who did not know much of trickery and deceit.

His goal from a young age was to become very strong and his greatest idol was the Demon King who was the strongest.

Due to his high potential for fighting, Gul'Dan rarely had a strong opponent that could get in his way on his path to becoming Demon King which was within his age range.

After witnessing the might of Furia, he believed himself to have a worthy rival and kept pursuing her trail like a madman possessed for a duel.

It ended up with him getting involved with her duties and helping her out a little.

Back in the human realm, Gene brought back the information gained from the vampire hunters to Shard and Flake which resulted in a new task being given.

After learning of the potential corruption within ALCHEMI, it was suggested that a small group would investigate further.

Nobody else could know about the corruption to prevent everyone from doubting each other and preventing the inside of the organization from being thrown into turmoil.

The task was left to Gene and her small team so they set out to follow their small lead.

They all arrived near some ruins where there was a large secret cavern that was under heavy guard.

Each of the people walking around looked like mutant forms of a mix of humans and animals who wore masks over their faces.

The whole area was guarded by powerful beings who had clear signs of being involved in the experiments of Dr Blush.

Among them was a reptilian girl dressed in a unitard and mask who looked very powerful.

She surveyed the surroundings with her gold reptilian eyes before accepting the transported crates that arrived in the ruins and ordering others to bring them inside.

In the shadows of the ruins, Gene, Zimo, Vasili, and Toki were observing from far away by concealing their presence as they brought their power levels down.

They thought they were doing well but they were soon discovered.
