I left my uncle's home early as the morning sun shone brightly in the east. For me I always had hope that when the sun shines happiness has shone. This wasn't of my cousin, Kacey. She was so saddened by my departure. I wondered why she was unhappy yet I am the trouble. I am the one who cause pain in her life. When I remember her words I saw that she was not seeking romantic love from me. She just needed to be loved just like other children. She doesn't see it coming from her parents. But she had a problem. A problem that I had never figured out about.
I walked towards the bus stop. I needed to catch an early bus. I saw policemen checking bags. The government had declared a grand search of the items that had been stolen from a certain mall in the night. I was not there. Due to my sureness, I walked towards the bus stop.
"Kid, where are you going to? Where are your parents? You can't travel alone. You know kidnappers have increased in the recent past. Stand here and wait for others to be checked. The police will give you an escort to your home."
I was shocked so much. I feared criminals, but also never wanted to interact with police. It was like I was allergic to them. Everytime I saw them, my legs began to tremble, my hands shook and goosebumps grew on my skin. As I was filled with fear I heard a baby crying. Then a female police came running to where I was standing. She snatched my bag. I tried to resist but she was too strong. She took it amd opened.
"Baby! " she said angrily, "She is too young."
The other police diverted their attention towards me. They all sorrounded me."We gotta take him to the police. He has to explain where he was taking the child. This is so strange. Kidnappers are now using lone children to transport people.
" So strange," she cried.
They chained me. I tried to defend myself. I tried to tell them that I didn't know how the baby got to my bag. I told them that the baby is my cousin and he was born few days ago. They never listened. They threw me into a police vehicle that they had. They began driving me to the police station. The policewoman was still carrying the bag.
"We've found one kid. He must belong to the kidnappers group. Inform the public about anyone who has lost a baby. A baby with green eyes and blonde hair. He seems to be few days old. Tell the person to come at the police station."
"Why are you taking me there?"
"You are not a criminal. But you have been found carrying a baby in your bag. If the owner proves you aren't guilt, you will be free. OK, stay with your words until you get to the station. There's no way to help you here kid."
We headed to the police station. I was not allowed to speak until the government lawyer came. I told him what happened. I had packed my things the day before. I put my bag on the chair at my bedroom. I slept. When I woke up I picked my bag and left home. I never checked what was in my bag. Maybe my cousin never wanted me to leave her alone. Maybe she was the one who put the baby in the bag.
"Are you sure with what you say?" my lawyer asked.
"Yes," I said.
Auntie entered in panic. She had lost her kid. She asked my lawyer what had happened. I had planned not to say anything but this man spilled the beans. I was to go back with my aunt. She was full of fury. She took her baby and even wished to fly to reach her home. I knew Kacey was in a problem. If the lady got home, Kacey would face her rage fully. I cried silently as we were traveling back home.
"Where do you think you were going to? Don't you know it's dangerous to travel alone?"
We reached home. Kacey was still in her pajamas. She was still in sorrow for my departure. Her mother left the baby on a chair and went for a whip. She whipped her hardly as she told her not to cry. By Goodluck uncle came back from the shop and stopped her. He never knew why aunt hated their daughter so much. She stopped and walked away to her baby.
She walked back to carry her baby. She extended her hands, towards him. The moment she touched her, she recieved an electric shock. She removed her hands faster as she screamed.
"What happened?" uncle asked as he rushed into the living room.
"The baby has electrocuted my hands. His body produces high voltage." she cried.
"Oh, you say that the child shocked you. I'm seeing he has opened the eyes. They are not green anymore. They produce colorful blue, white and red patterns and his hair is black. It's not blonde anymore."
Then something unusual happened. I began speaking with a deep voice like that of the magician," The baby is unhappy of what you had done to his sister. He is fighting for his sister. You know they are all one. They share the same blood. If you hurt her sister, you hurt him. If you go on with that, when he grows up he will destroy you. And if he kills you, then we shall be in chaos. Please take care. "
" What is happening? I'm confused, " auntie said sweating.
"I'm sorry. All this is because of me. I took the boy to a magician. Then we had a hard time there but from that time. Everything changed. "
" Why did you go to the man? You know we are religious. We don't do that. Why did you go there? Why did you take the boy there? Oh no. What have you done to your nephew? You know the magician takes control of children's minds. " she fainted.
Now I had one task, to eliminate the magician from my mind. Auntie's words changed my mindset. But it couldn't be easy. He was very powerful. The only way to get him away was to know about him. If I knew much of him then it won't be hard to take him out of the mind. Once you discover someone's weaknesses then you are able to defeat them, for to defeat a stronger opponent attack their weakness.
Alpha had thought me one thing, "we are not too weak to fight for the rights of the weak. Just use the strength you have. It might be the strongest thing you've ever had. The strongest thing to bring a change. He showed me how siblings should live. I wished mine could be like that. They always blamed my weakness and never stood my side. "
