Phoenix's P.O.V.:
Phoenix could not hold back the flood of tears that rushed to his eyes. His heart had never hurt this badly before. Looking away trying to hide his tears that were now falling Phoenix shakily answered, "I understand." Phoenix felt like he was about to vomit but what did he expect after hurting Solaris this badly? Honestly, he knew he did not deserve Solaris' forgiveness, but he would do everything he could to earn it!
"No, I do not what you to be my de facto mama, I want you to be my Mama! but I understand that is not what you want so I will humbly take the offer you gave, I should not be greedy. Master Phoenix is already gracious enough to allow me to call him my de facto mama." Solaris said in a small and fragile voice.
"What, did, did you just say you want me to be your Mama?" Phoenix asked with bated breath and heart pounding so hard and loud that he was sure Solaris could hear it. 'So does that mean...' he could not even complete the thought in fear of jinxing it.
Solaris raised his doe like eyes to meet Phoenix's before continuing. "I know I am being greedy by wanting you to be my real Mama not my de facto mama. I know that I should just stay quite and be grateful and humble with what Master Phoenix has offered me, but I could not hold in my true thoughts and wishes when Master Phoenix asked me if that is what I wanted. Even though it is not what I want I am honestly grateful to at least be able to call you my de facto parent or rather de facto Mama. Thank you for giving me this very honored gift." The conviction in Solaris' tone was equally humble as it was unwavering.
Phoenix chocked up again and had to clear his throat twice before he was able to speak. "I would be very honored to be your Mama, Solaris! I did not offer it before because I did not think you would like that. I never meant to hurt you. I am so very, very sorry! Please, believe me when I say that I not only want a close relationship with you but that I need it. I know it might sound crazy or even like a lie considering everything that just happened but..." He took another deep breath and wiped the tears falling from his eyes. "For a long time now, I have been daydreaming and even dreaming of you as this little four- or five-year-old boy and the image is so clear it feels like it is a memory trying to come to the surface. I had planned to always keep it to myself as I did not want you to feel uncomfortable, but I feel it is vital that I tell you. I have wanted and even hoped that you would have a physical form for a long time now. Please believe me when I say that I am thrilled with your physical form and that you are cuter than any pet or animal I have ever seen"
It was now Solaris' turn to be speechless. 'Of course, I love and want Mama! I need him to want and love me too.' Solaris thought to himself, still rendered so surprised that he could not form words yet. He nodded his little head so hard that Phoenix could not help but liken it to a chicken pecking away at grain and his eyes softened as he gazed down at the little phoenix dragon in his arms. This did not escape Solaris' eagle or rather phoenix eyes, which only made his worry melt away, even if it was just by a little bit.
"Of course, I would love for you to be my Mama, I already considered you as my Mama. I have even almost called you that several times over the past 22+ thousand years. I was always so terrified that I might slip up one day, knowing how much you detested others and anything that tried to get close to you or your walls. Master, Mama always kept me at arm's length so I could only dream and keep this little dream to myself. I never thought it was even possible you were wanting the same or at least something close to what I was hoping for!" Solaris had to stop talking as big fat tears filled his shining eyes again.
Phoenix snuggled him closer, while Solaris put his head in the crook of his Mama's neck, both were relishing this moment. They had both just been through a major ordeal and turns out that they were both craving this closeness from each other. Phoenix was still scared and a bit apprehensive about being a Mama to anyone but even more so to Solaris, he was so scared he would only hurt him again and he would rather be thrown back in to that living hell then to hurt Solaris again!
Phoenix was not sure when it started but he can say that the love he feels for Solaris is that of a mother though he originally thought it was more akin to the love of a mother of fur babies not an actual baby. Yet here he is, and he has no doubt he loves this little guy unconditionally. Maybe this love and relationship will help him to be a better person, friend and mother that Solaris deserves though he also hopes that it will help him to eventually establish other relationships like real friendship and familial. After all he will be taking over the lives of his host's bodies so he needs and must get use to those kinds of relationships and closeness or else he won't be able to do his hosts' justice.
Phoenix continued to snuggle Solaris into his chest and neck while gently swaying back and forth almost habitually as if it was a gesture that was seared into his existence. Without even thinking he bent his head and kissed the little phenix dragon on the center of his forehead, nearly right between his eyes. This caused Solaris to blush so hard that his little button horns glowed with a dazzling warm light that looked like a fire dancing in the wind. It was such an alluring sight that Phoenix found himself awestruck for the Nth time since waking up into The New Nursery!
'Will I ever get use to the sheer magnificent beauty of this little one, no my little one. Wow, I am a Mama now or even Mama Phoenix if that makes you more comfortable since you always called me Master Phoenix before? I never thought that would be possible but now that it is I will never allow anyone to harm him nor allow anyone to tear us apart. Maybe I should reconsider what I will do after I am completely free? I wonder if I can stay with Solaris for eternity, after all he is a prince and one belonging to the Highest gods there is! I have only ever heard them refed to has Emperor Dragon God also called The Sun God as well has his Emperess The Phoenix Goddess or Moon Goddess among other names. But who would have thought that the Empress is really a man? Well to each their own, I guess. I really can't say anything because I now have the title as Mama, and I am a man but strangely I don't mind it... it feels right somehow.'
Phoenix pulled himself out of his thoughts and broke the comfortable silence. "Solaris, would you always call me Mama for now on? I mean if you want that is. I do not want you to do anything you are not comfortable with or want." Solaris perked up his little head and practically shouted a resounding "YES" cough-cough "I mean yes of course I will, though do you still want me to call you that in mixed company?"
'Mixed company? Can everyone see his physical form? If that is the case, he will have to stay invisible or only in my head when we are around others, I can't risk them seeing him. The worlds would end in chaos, and he will not allow harm to come to Solaris even if those people can't harm him, he won't risk it! Hell no! He will gently explain his concerns to Solaris and see what he thinks.'
With that thought in mind he proceeded to carefully ask Solaris about it. "First call me that anytime we are alone together, or you are speaking with me in my head only, for now at least. I am little worried about what might or could happen if anyone from the worlds we travel to sees you in this form. I do not want to hurt you, but I am honestly scared that they may try to hurt you even if they can't it hurts my heart and pisses me off just thinking about it." There he laid it all out, hopefully he didn't hurt him again.
"Ok Mama I will do that then. I trust Mama Phoenix and I will be a good boy and make sure no one sees me in my current form without your prior permission." Solaris said with an innocent and obedient aura of a child who wanted to please his Mama, which he was.
"Great! Now that all that has been hashed out and there are no more misunderstandings, can you please tell me what this big, softly glowing floating orb is? It is completely blank." as he said this, he reached his hand out to touch it but before he could Solaris called out "Stop don't touch it!" with a voice tinged with fear?
He was startled but upon hearing the tinge of fear in Solaris' voice he dropped his hand and took a step back. With a raised eyebrow he silently inquired and urged Solaris to explain himself. In response Solaris got out of the warm and comforting embrace of his Mama Phoenix.
He was dreading having to answer this question though it would not be too much longer before he could explain it all to his Mama. As much as he wanted to tell his Mama Phoenix about it and anything else he wishes to know he can't as he has to follow his creator's orders first, after all it was for his best interest even if he didn't know it yet. He would soon though.
-Solaris - "Well I cannot explain it to you yet as I have precise orders when it comes to this orb, but I promise, it won't be long before I can. Mama, I implore you to please continue to be patient if only just for a bit longer."
Phoenix nodded and then clapped his hands and rubbed them together with a glint in his eye he said. He did not want to push Solaris any further today as he only just pulled him back from the edge of a breakdown again.
'I refuse to add any more stress to Solaris today, it is best to be patient and ask at again at a later time. Maybe once we get back from the first world we go to, now that I, no we are now that we are free from that living hell! It is time to gain strength, soul power and information regarding my kidnapping and imprisonment. I need all the power and intel as possible before I form a counterattack plan. I will make my abductor(s) pay! ' Phoenix's eyes turned sharp and a cold ruthlessness shone through them that would make any normal person pee their pants, it even scared Solaris a tiny bit, but he knew without a doubt that his Mama would never hurt him!
"Ok, Solaris now what? What was it you said before about missions? Oh, that I have tasks I have to complete?" Phoenix could feel his jaw muscles tighten and twitch as he tried to calm down his racing heart and rapid thoughts that had him on the edge of spiraling down to the pits of despair. He could feel a PTSD episode about to him. All he could think of for a moment where the missions and task set out for him to compete like them or not, by his Jailor System.
'Stop it Nix, you are no longer in that situation you are safe, and you have Solaris.' Thinking of this he was able to calm down somewhat but he was still a bit vexed. He should have known that this wasn't the end of things for him.
With a deep resigned sigh Phoenix begrudgingly asked, "What is the first one?" ヽ(`⌒´メ)ノ
A/N: Alright my little sun rays and moon lights, I wanted to write a longer upload as I wanted to finish this chapter so that I could start posting about the 1st world next week! I know this is almost twice as long of an update as I have been putting out so I hope that's ok with yall!
I have also done a lot of editing on my previous chapters and may do a little more so please bear with me and know a few details have changed. I accidentally lost my entire first arc that I had completed and it nonrecoverable. This is my fault for forgetting to save my progress, which I know do very frequently. However, it was a blessing in disguise as I realized that I skipped over a major plot hole that I am now able to fix before I caught it after uploading it. As I have stated previously, I am an armature when it comes to writing and I not only have ADD but a rare neurological condition that causes memory loss and cognitive disfunction, I am doing my best so please bare with me, I promise I will work on improving.
I hope you all enjoyed reading my novel thus far. Here is a little mini theater for yall to enjoy and hopefully I can write a special but a short update tomorrow maybe about how Solaris and Phoenix first met? I am not sure yet as I will be at my in-laws' house celebrating my husband's 41st birthday. You continued support means the world to me! I know I most likely will never go premium, but I want to bring yall a premium novel level work to read.
