Emma looked up slowly, her fading green eyes widening in surprise. For a moment, she simply stared at Rosa as if doubting the reality of what she was seeing.
"...I never thought I would see you again," she murmured, her voice rasping from disuse. "But it is... it is peaceful for my soul to see you before... before the end."
Rosa sighed the sadness out of her body, don't you dare sympathize with her. "...There won't be an end, not yet."
Emma's face showed no reaction whatsoever.
"...I'm here to deliver great news, Emma. You will live, and you will have the chance to repent for all of your sins, just as we agreed."
The expressionless face Emma had on was slowly replaced with one of stunned disbelief. Her hands trembled as they clutched the edge of the bench, her eyes searching Rosa's face.
"What... what do you mean?" she whispered. "How is that possible?"
