Rosa woke up the next morning well-rested and on a mission. As she stretched languidly under the silken sheets, she noticed a brief movement at the door.
Hm?
Sir Cedric's back was partially visible, his posture tense as he peeked into her room. When he realized she was awake and still in her thin nightgown, he quickly turned his head away.
"Forgive me," he mumbled in embarrassment.
At that moment, Roxan entered as bright and cheerful as the morning sun. She closed the door behind her then moved to the windows and drew back the heavy curtains flooding the room with warm, golden light.
"Good morning, my Lady," Roxan greeted with a smile, her voice soft and respectful. "Did you sleep well?"
Rosa smiled back as she sat up and allowed the sunlight to wash over her body. "Good morning, Roxan. Yes, I slept so well! Today is such an important day for me!"
