Everyone felt dumbfounded by Neena's remarks, and Anvika was visibly shocked , the atmosphere thickening with an awkward tension. Nivik, who had been trying to hide his unease, now found himself at the center of a storm of emotions. He felt a strange mix of curiosity and an unfamiliar sting of jealousy. He didn't understand why he felt this way, but the idea of Anvika and Advik being more than friends gnawed at him.
Anvika's eyes flashed with anger, her jaw tightening, Quickly, Anvika retorted, "Stop talking rubbish, Neena. We've really grown best companions, nothing more.Don't pollute other people's brains with your filthy ideas". Anvika spoke out of rage.
Anvika usually doesn't get angry, but right now she was terribly upset. She didn't want Nivik to misinterpret her, which is why they linked her to Advik. She solely loved Nivik and he was the only person in her heart and thoughts.
She couldn't stand the idea of Nivik thinking there was something going on between her and Advik. Her heart belonged to Nivik, and she didn't want to create any misunderstandings.
Neena felt bad for misinterpreting her closest friend ,she felt a pang of guilt wash over her. She had let her suspicions get the best of her, and now she realized she had jumped to conclusions. "I'm really sorry, Anvika," Neena said softly, her eyes downcast. "I didn't mean to assume things or make you uncomfortable."
Upon seeing Anvika's fury, Nivik assumed he had misinterpreted her, since she had previously informed him that he should only regard Advik as a friend.
Anvika's expression softened slightly at Neena's apology. "It's okay, Neena. Just… let's not make assumptions, alright?" She turned her gaze to Nivik, who was watching the exchange with a mix of emotions flickering across his face. Anvika wanted desperately to tell him how she felt, but now wasn't the time. She didn't want to risk their friendship by revealing her feelings too soon, especially not in the middle of such a misunderstanding.
Neena's regret deepened as she watched Anvika and Nivik. She had hoped her questions would bring clarity, but instead, they had only caused more confusion and hurt. Neena had always been protective of her brothers, and seeing them happy was her top priority. She realized now that her actions might have caused more harm than good.
Nivik, still trying to process his emotions, felt a strange relief wash over him at Anvika's words. She was adamant about just being friends with Advik. But why did that matter so much to him? He had always seen Anvika as a dear friend, yet the thought of her with someone else, especially Advik, stirred feelings he wasn't ready to confront.
Anvika, meanwhile, was determined to keep things clear. She wanted Nivik to see her as she truly was—a friend who cared deeply for him, perhaps even more than she was ready to admit. She couldn't let this misunderstanding create a wedge between them. Her feelings for Nivik were strong, but she knew she had to wait for the right moment to express them.
Anvika immediately stood up, the weight of the evening pressing down on her. She felt a sharp pang of disappointment and sadness. These were her childhood friends, the people she had grown up with, shared countless memories with, and now they misunderstood her. The realization stung more than she had anticipated. She turned to Levi, who had been watching the exchange quietly.
"Levi, lend a hand me get back to my room. I feel like I'm going home with a little headache."she said, her voice steady but with an underlying note of weariness. She needed to be alone for a while, to gather her thoughts and emotions.
Without delay, Levi stepped forward to assist Anvika.
Neena, seeing the distress she had caused, quickly stepped forward. "I'm really sorry, Anvika. I didn't mean to—"
Anvika was quite offended that everyone had misinterpreted her, including her childhood buddies.
Anvika cut her off gently. "It's alright, Neena. I just need some rest. My head is really hurting.but I'll be well eventually." She gave a small, strained smile, trying to mask her true feelings. The misunderstanding had cut deep, and she wasn't ready to face any more questions or apologies right now.
Nivik's face darkened with concern and frustration. Nivik responded, "Go back to my room and rest," right away, his tone sharper than he intended. He knew Anvika well, and he couldn't bear the thought of her retreating into solitude, especially when she was upset. How could he let her go off alone when he knew she needed support, even if she wouldn't admit it?
But Anvika, determined to have some space, shook her head again. "No, Nivik. but I'll be fine in my room. I just need some quiet time."
