Chapter 8 - Can I lay on your lap?

Nivik stood up to depart after that. "Where are you heading out?" Anvika replied while grabbing hold of his hands.

"to the academy."

"Accompany me."

'No, I shall return in due course. "

Anvika said, "Stay with me," while wearing a serious look.

" How long is that?"

"Up till my bedtime."

Nivik shot an irate glance at Anvika, but she chose to ignore him.

She instantly made a facial shift, blinked her eyes, and pleaded for Nivik to remain with her. She was in agony and a bit afraid.

When her kid complained that her leg hurt, Aaravi became depressed.

Aaravi claimed in a kind tone, "Is it highly hurt sweetie? Rest easy, my precious heart mom will take care of you."

Nivik reasoned to himself, 'It's wiser for me to remain with her; I'll deal with that idiot later.'He believed that she was afraid of the past episodes.

Nivik responded, "All right, I'll be right back with you."

They moved Anvika inside the room after a period of time. On each side of Anvika on the bed were Nivik and Aaravi.

"Are you malnourished?" Aaravi questioned her daughter as she sat next to her.

"Yes, please bring a few munchies for me, mom."

Without delay, Aaravi went to the kitchen to get her some munchies.

Anvika was afraid that Nivik would go into trouble, so she prohibited him from leaving her. She knew that Nivik would do something wild after Alex wounded her.

Anvika, who was terrified just then, suddenly recalled how Alex had pulled him and was getting closer to her.

She said, "Can I lay on your lap?" as she turned to face Nivik.

Nivik nodded his head, understanding what Anvika is going through in her thoughts based on what he saw on her face.

With her head on his lap, Anvika felt more safe in his company. He knew everything that was going through her thoughts, made her laugh and weep, and was her closest friend, with whom she shared everything.

Anvika was soon dozing off on his lap.

Nivik reassured her that he was bound to be by her side as he held her tenderly.

As Aaravi entered the room, she saw Anvika dozing off on Nivik's knee. Since they had been great friends since childhood, Aaravi didn't find it strange that her kid was sleeping on Nivik's lap.

"She began to nod off."

"Yes, aunt, give her a little more time to sleep; after her nap, she'll be fine."

Aaravi handed Nivik the snack dish and said, "Have some."

"Many thanks, aunt."

Nivik stayed still and remained stationary Anvika since he didn't want to wake her up from her slumber.

....

Fearing that her kid would be in danger, Emma devised a strategy in her thoughts and, with the assistance of his pals, managed to hide her son.

When Levi and Daksh realized Emma was concealing her kid, they phoned Nivik right away to let him know.

Anvika requested that he go with him and not let him leave her by herself.

Advik called Levi after Anvika and Nivik departed, learning that Alex had fled.

An nasty smirk appeared on his face upon seeing that Alex had managed to flee.

....

Sarah was likewise incensed about what Alex had done, so she phoned her husband right once to let him know what had occurred at the school.

She knew the news would hit him hard. The phone rang twice before Dhruv answered, his voice brisk and professional.

"Hello, Sarah. What's up?"

"Dhruv, it's about Anvika," Sarah said, trying to keep her voice steady. She quickly explained what had happened, describing Anvika's injury and the attack by Alex.

There was a long pause on the other end of the line. When Dhruv finally spoke, his voice was filled with barely suppressed anger. "How could this happen? At school, of all places?"

Sarah could almost feel the fury radiating through the phone. "I know, Dhruv. It's awful. But Nivik was there, and he stopped it before it got worse. Anvika is safe now. She's at home with her mother."

Dhruv's anger simmered, threatening to boil over. "This is unacceptable. I'm going to make sure Alex and his family pay for this. They will regret ever crossing us."

Sarah knew Dhruv's temper well. "Dhruv, please, think about Arya. He doesn't know yet. I don't want him to find out like this. It would break his heart."

Dhruv took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He knew Sarah was right. Arya, his close friend and Anvika's father, would be devastated. Arya adored Anvika and took pride in providing a safe and loving environment for her.

"I understand," Dhruv said finally, his voice tense. "I'll handle it. I won't let Arya find out. But I swear, Alex and his family will pay dearly for this."

"Thank you, Dhruv," Sarah said softly. "I knew you'd understand."

Dhruv ended the call, his mind racing with plans. He was determined to protect Anvika and ensure justice was served. His thoughts darkened as he considered the implications. He couldn't let Arya see the sorrow this incident would bring. Arya had always been a rock, a source of strength and kindness, and Dhruv couldn't bear to see him broken.

Dhruv paced his office, his anger fueling his resolve. He would teach Alex and his family a lesson they would never forget. They had crossed a line, and now they would face the consequences.

He grabbed his phone again, making a series of quick calls. He had connections, and he knew how to use them. Alex and his family would soon find themselves in a world of trouble. Dhruv would ensure that.

But for now, he had to keep Arya in the dark. He couldn't let his friend see the storm brewing, not until it was over. He would bear the burden of this fight, sparing Arya from the pain.

Dhruv straight away phoned his assistant and informed him that the school should be shuttered by tomorrow am since he didn't want to see anybody connected to Emma.

"Yes, sir, I understand."

As he ended his last call, Dhruv felt a grim satisfaction. Justice would be served, and Anvika would be safe. He had made a promise, and he intended to keep it, no matter the cost.
