Standing on the arena stage was Simon, his face red with anger and embarrassment. Not only had he lost to his brother, but he had been punished by his father for it.
So he came up with a plan to humiliate his brother. He ordered the official in charge of salt distribution to replace all the refined salt in Chance Manor with coarse salt.
When Chance returned to the mansion, already feeling hungry from the day's power jousting, he looked at the table and gorged himself on the meal as he sat down to dinner
"Why is it so salty, who arranged this?"
The food was almost inedible, stained with large grains of coarse salt. His frustration was overwhelming.
The palace maid knelt down, her voice trembling, "Fourth Prince, we've been out of favor for a long time, and the rest of the coarse salt was given by the officer in charge of salt."
chance realized that Simon was behind this, and Chance's anger turned to determination.
"Come with me," he ordered the two remaining servants. "We're going to the kitchen."
Standing in the kitchen, the two servants were confused as to what the Fourth Prince was going to do next.
"First, we need to dissolve the coarse salt in water," Chance instructed. He filled a large pot with water and added the coarse salt, stirring constantly with a wooden stick until all the salt was completely dissolved.
"Next, we need to filter out the insoluble impurities," Chance continued. He made a simple strainer out of a clean cloth and carefully poured the brine into another container, leaving the impurities on the cloth.
"Now we need to heat the brine to allow the water to evaporate," Chance explains. He lights the stove and places the filtered brine in a pot over the fire. He patiently waits for the water to evaporate, allowing the salt crystals to re-form.
The two servants watched in awe.
Once most of the water has evaporated, Chance removes the salt shaker and begins to collect the fine salt crystals. He dries the crystals with a clean cloth to make sure there is no excess water.
"The final step is to further purify the fine salt crystals," Chance says. He puts the dried salt crystals into a smaller pot and heats it again, allowing the last of the water to evaporate and the crystals to become purer and finer.
After a few hours of careful polishing, Chance finally produces a batch of pure, fine salt. He looked at the sparkling crystals in his hands and was filled with a sense of accomplishment.
"This is something I learned in high school physics, coarse salt to extract fine salt, semon's trick failed, haha."
Walking out of the kitchen door, the salt control officials at the door were already there, just waiting for chance to make a fool of himself, the two servants took out the crystalized fine salt, the salt merchants and salt officials were dumbfounded
"This salt is crystal clear and so fine, even if our salt producing department refines it, it won't be this good!"
Soon the matter of the fourth prince chance refining the perfect fine salt spread in the capital, and everyone began to praise this prince one after another
Chance returned to his room from the kitchen, his heart both satisfied and bored.
"No phone, no internet, no entertainment ... It's so boring." He muttered.
An underling could see that he was disturbed, so he spoke, "If Your Majesty is bored, you can go to the Hundred Flower Pavilion to take a look."
Chance was curious in his heart, "Hundred Flower Pavilion? What kind of place is this, are there many flowers?"
"No, where there are many flower-like beauties." The servant replied.
"It is said that there is a stunning beauty there with beautiful dancing skills."
Chance came down with interest and drove with the servant to the Pavilion of Hundred Flowers
The Hundred Flower Pavilion was majestic and opulent. The building was decorated with beautiful glasses and the freshest fruits of the season. The decor was immaculate, with lavish roses hanging from every corner. Flowers were placed everywhere, adding to the enchanting atmosphere.Chance was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery and felt as if he had stepped into paradise.
Chance looked up and saw a veiled woman standing gracefully on the second floor.
One hand gently caressed her long hair and delicate fingers, elegant but not without spirit. The veil lifted up as the breeze brushed by, her delicate features were hidden and intertwined with light and shadow, exuding an ethereal beauty that made people want to look at her.
She was the Hundred Flower Fairy, the absolute beauty that the servants spoke of, and tonight, all eyes were focused on her.
The way she sat there elegantly, coupled with the mysterious charm under the veil, mesmerized everyone present, and her presence alone was enough to raise the atmosphere of the party even higher, making the already very gorgeous pavilion seem like it was in a dream world.
Tonight was particularly lively because the pavilion was hosting a grand poetry contest. The atmosphere was electric and guests were gathered, eager to witness the talent of the poets and enjoy the captivating performances.
As Chance continues on his way, he is greeted by beautiful women, each more charming than the next. Some were dignified and gentle, while others were enchanting and charming, each showing off their talents. Some sang, some played musical instruments, and some danced, leaving Chance completely mesmerized.
However, the second prince semon walked in while walking, and Chance turned around.
"Why is it always you?" Chance muttered under his breath.
Simon laughed smugly, "So it's that punk of a brother of mine, do you know what day today is? It's a poetry contest, everyone present has to compose a poem, and you dare to come here when you don't know a single word? Aren't you afraid of losing face?"
Chance raised an eyebrow. "Compose a poem?"
The subordinate whispered, "Today's poem competition, the winner can spend a night with the Hundred Flower Fairy."
Chance thought in his heart, composing poems is my strong point, I have memorized ancient poems since I was a child, at least a few hundred of them, do you think you can win against me, a modern man?
Chance looked at Simon and said confidently,
"Let's race then, but it's a race there has to be a bet, and the loser has to crawl and bark like a dog."
