Phoenix starred out at the tall building in front of her. She turned to look at the man who was out and ready to let her go. He opened the door for her but didn't want her to get out. He stood in her path.
"Would you like to come in?" She offered before he could do anything out of mind.
"I'll leave you at your door," he stretched out his hand to her. She took it without hesitation.
"Thanks for the company,"
"You are okay now. That's alright." He told her. Her brows furrowed with a scowl behind.
"I'm alright," she said with gritted teeth.
Phoenix stopped in her tracks making her escort also to halt. They were in front of the elevator. "Did you know Willmar had set us up?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
The corners of Perry's lips lifted up. He wanted to see to her get angry. She looked more stunning right now. He didn't want to leave her.
"What are you going to do about it? Your friend just wanted you to have fun. Besides, you did have fun and that makes her very happy that you agreed to come out of your shell into the spotlight."
He crossed his arms behind him ready to see her change facial color.
Phoenix starred hard at him without blinking. She was annoyed and happy within that somebody cared about her. But she wouldn't show it.
Though she wouldn't show her other side right now, the man in front of her hard to try hard not to loose his sanity.
This is the first time he was battling with himself because of a woman. He has never in his entire life craved to be with a woman and the thought never occurred to him at the moment.
He wanted to protect her. Make her his and never let her go. He had seen how Phoebe and their mother had left her back at the beach side.
The elevator finally opened for them to get in. Phoenix had lost thought. Her mind was blank. In fact, she didn't want to think about anything. The man beside her was having a big influence on her that she could loose her sanity if care is not taken.
"You are trying to get another face, but it seems you have no idea what you're doing,"
Okay, this man is got to leave her alone. Why does he keep on bringing things up. Who was he anyways?
Phoenix was tired of how Perry kept on revealing things about her.
It's like...
It's like he has known her before. She too has got nothing out there for people to read.
She stole a glimpse of him and caught him starring.
"What?"
She felt her ears turn hot for the first time.
'Gosh, he looks beautiful and...' she didn't know how to top him up.
They stood akimbo until they got to the twentieth floor. Phoenix moved followed by her escort.
"Would you----"
He nodded without letting her finish.
"I got to go."
Phoenix unlocked her door and stood in front of it. She looked very calm with her hands clasped in front of her.
"Mr. Worcestershire, I appreciate your efforts very much. Your have a good humour." She spoke in the manner which she speaks to her employees.
Perry saw that as his mouth twitched slightly.
"I'm sure working with you in the future won't be a problem." Perry agreed without a thought.
"Maybe we can go out more often," he offered.
" You need to rest. I should leave you alone."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
