Chapter 123 Edge of the Forest

Aleshia expressed her sympathy, turning away and hiding her fish. She finished her meal and watched the adventurer eat his, which consisted of dried meats and hard bread soaked in water.

After the adventurer finished his meal, he checked on his horse. After reapplying some medicine to its injuries, he returned to the path. A little while down the path, his horse nuzzled him, urging him to ride. After some coaxing, the adventurer decided to comply with his horse's request. He checked its injuries one last time, then gently jumped onto the horse and tapped its side to encourage it to move forward.

Initially, the horse walked, but it soon transitioned to a trot as it became more accustomed to its injuries with the adventurer's weight. Eventually, it began to run, though it slowed down after a gentle prompt from its rider.

At first, Aleshia could manage the horse's speed, but as it began to run faster, she struggled to keep up the pace. Remembering her support magic, she tried to cast a spell on herself, only to realize with dismay that the mana she had expected to regenerate during her sleep had barely recovered at all. She wondered if Lucia could be generous enough to provide her with mana to support the spell. Looking up, she asked, "Lucia, do you think you have enough mana to help me with a support spell so I can keep up with the horse?"

"It depends on how much farther the adventurer is planning to travel. Since we don't have that information, can you tell me the type of support spell you are casting on yourself? Is it a set one or a continuous one, like your concealment spell?" Lucia asked.

"It's a set spell," Aleshia replied.

Lucia checked her mana and said, "I believe I have enough to last us even if you reapply it occasionally then."

She lent some of her mana to Aleshia, who quickly applied some support spells to herself, which allowed her to catch up with the horse. Once she reached the horse, she found nothing unusual happening; the adventurer was simply fondly petting the horse's mane.

The adventurer made good pace with his horse, and by the time the sun was high in the sky, he was nearing the exit out of the forest.

Aleshia was gazing at the wide-open scenery ahead of her and said worriedly, "This is quite a problem. There isn't anywhere that can hide me on this open road!"
