As I mentioned earlier, this world has many races, each with its own advantages. The Elves are close to nature and spirits, using spirit magic as easily as breathing. Beastmen have superhuman strength. Dwarves are proficient in crafting weapons. Demons can dominate dark mana and possess superhuman strength. Vampires are almost immortal, able to regenerate indefinitely as long as they have enough blood. Dark Elves, though able to use dark mana, are also elves created by the World Tree, giving them high affinity to spirits. They are excellent in combat and much more powerful than regular elves.
Spirits are the manifestation of the elements themselves. Those who have made a contract with a high spirit have left their mark on the annals of history. And above all are the Dragons, rulers of mana. Even a newborn dragon can manipulate mana as effortlessly as breathing. If you face a dragon, there is only one end: death.
Among all these powerful races, humans are like ants. They neither have the superhuman strength of Beastmen nor the long life and spirit affinity of Elves. Humans are not as strong as other races, nor do they have long lifespans. The average lifespan of a human is 80 years, much less than Elves, Dwarves, and Demons, who can live up to 700-1000 years. Beastmen have an average lifespan of 400 years. Vampires are technically immortal; when they feel weak, they go into a deep sleep for hundreds of years to restore their power.
Dragons and spirits are immortal. Although they can be killed, they are resurrected after a few years with all their memories intact. For them, dying is like a deep sleep. So, the question arises: how do humans survive in this world full of powerful beings?
I already mentioned that with great power comes great restrictions. The fertility rate of other races is too low. Their populations, except demons, combined, are not even one-third of the human population. Even though demons have low fertility rate it is much higher than other races.
There are only five dragons in existence.
But can a group of ants kill an elephant? Of course not. So we are back at the starting point: how did humans survive? It's possible because there is a race that keeps the world in balance: the Gods.
Yes, there are gods in this world. Even though humans in this world are born weak, they are born with immense potential and dormant power, which the gods help them awaken.
In Azeroth, at the age of five, every creature awakens its own magic talent. Other races awaken talents specific to their race. For instance, Dwarves can only awaken as blacksmiths. Elves can become spirit summoners, elementalists, archers, and other nature-related classes.
Demons are little different. There are several subspecies in demons, and they awaken based on it. Like Succubus, it's a sub species of demon. They awaken as enchantress.
Humans, however, can awaken as any class irrespective of the race. They can become blacksmiths, summoners, elementalists, etc. But race exclusive classes awakening is very rare. Most ordinary citizens awaken lifestyle class like craftsman, merchant, farmer, etc. Other than these there are combat classes like archer, spearman, swordsman etc. People who awaken combat talents become adventures, soldiers, knights, etc based on how high is their talent.
Besides these classes, humans primarily awaken elemental talents.
Even though many people can have the same elemental talent, each person's use of it is unique, depending on how much mana they have and what kind of elemental spells they learn.
Magic talents are ranked as F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS. Everyone in Azeroth awakens their talent, even if it's a trash talent. Some monstrous geniuses can even let their talent grow with them over time by using and training it continuously.
S and SS talents are rare and valuable. SSS talent is the highest tier. If a person with SSS talent appears, they can even fight against dragons. Currently, there is no one with SSS talent. However, the protagonist of this game I once played is destined to awaken SSS talent and send the entire world into an uproar.
As I pondered these thoughts, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of talent I would awaken.
Why am I wondering? If I remember everything about the game, I should have known what talent 'real' Noah Aldreck awakened.
It's because there was no Noah Aldreck in game. In the game the duchess only game birth to a daughter. So, I am completely new existence in this world. I am an extra.
Well, it's also relief for me. I did not want to takeover an innocent baby's body and live happily with the happily. The guilt of taking a baby a mother is a sin and on top of that to act as their real son.
Let's comeback to the topic, what type of talent I would awaken. It's most likely that I would awaken as swordman. But I am not too much concerned about that. Even if I awaken a trash talent, I still have a lifetime experience of swordsmanship. Above all I am the only son of a grandmaster swordsman and 7-star mage, son of a duke and nephew of the emperor.
