Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Adventure in the Forest

Dr. Ebert realized that panicking would not solve any problem. He was a scientist and an explorer, with rational thinking and adventurous exploration in his blood. He had to calm down and use his wisdom and knowledge to face the predicament in front of him.

He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and carefully wiped the sweat from his forehead. The sweat soaked his hair, making his already messy hair stick to his forehead more obediently. He took off his glasses and wiped the lenses with the corner of his clothes. The dust and water vapor on the lenses made it difficult for him to see the surrounding scene.

"Huh..."

Dr. Ebert took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He looked around, the towering trees, the strange plants, and the insects and birds he had never seen before, all reminded him that this was no longer the world he was familiar with.

"I need to find some clues, some clues that can help me understand this place and help me go back." Dr. Ebert thought to himself.

He looked down at the statue in his hand, which still emitted a faint glow, as if silently guiding him.

"Did you bring me here?" Dr. Ebert murmured to the statue, "What do you want to tell me?"

The statue did not answer him, but just emitted light quietly.

Dr. Ebert carefully put the statue into his pocket and began to observe the surrounding environment.

He found a stream not far away, with clear water and flowing slowly, like a silver ribbon, winding through the green forest.

"Maybe I can walk along this stream and see if I can find some traces of human activities." Dr. Ebert thought to himself.

He carefully pushed aside the branches and vines in front of him and walked towards the stream.

Along the way, he carefully observed the surrounding environment, hoping to find some useful clues.

He found that the plants and animals here were different from any species he knew.

The huge flowers were colorful and strange in shape. Some looked like butterflies with open wings, some looked like little snakes poking their heads out, and some even looked like human faces, showing him a weird smile.

The strange insects were huge and colorful. Some looked like flying gems, some looked like crawling flowers, and some even looked like micro robots, making all kinds of strange calls.

There were also some small animals that were agile and flexible, jumping and shuttling between branches at an amazing speed. Some of them had wings, some had scales, and some even had transparent bodies, so that their organs and bones could be clearly seen.

Dr. Ebert felt extremely curious. He took out the notebook and pencil he carried with him and began to record these strange creatures. He knew that if these discoveries could be brought back to the modern world, they would cause a huge sensation.

As he walked, Dr. Ebert suddenly heard a strange sound coming from the front.

The sound was like that made by some kind of musical instrument, crisp and pleasant, but with a hint of indescribable sadness, as if telling an ancient and sad story.

Dr. Ebert's heart moved. He remembered the flute sound he heard before he fell into a coma. Could it be the same sound?

He followed the sound and walked forward cautiously. After pushing aside the last layer of bushes, Dr. Ebert's eyes suddenly opened up.

He saw a person sitting on a clearing by the stream.
