Andrea devastated from the whole situation at moment found it difficult to arrange her thoughts. How can this be happening to me?? Why now? Why me? She thought to herself as she sobbed. Elisa, yes Elisa she said as grabbed her phone to her.
"Elisa, I'm in a mess right now and I don't know j got myself into it…. My job and self respect os at stake and I don't know what to do" She cried aloud immediately Elisa picked up the phone
"What do you mean you're in a mess Annie? What exactly happened?" Elisa said confused as F*ck
"Annie just calm down, take a deep breath and tell me what exactly happened" she continued.
Andrea took a deep breath and explained the situation to her. Elisa was left mouth opened after hearing what happened
"What's the file about Annie" Elisa asked
"According to him, the file contains the details or evidence to fraud being committed by a company and how the company wants to involve ours. It's actually a very important file, but how will that file be of any importance to me?" She said to Elisa while trying to control her tears"
"What he thinks they sent me to him in other get the file. My office has been thoroughly searched this morning but I'm still the suspect" She continued.
"Now is not the time to cry but to think, think Annie when you got to the office today was there anything that wasn't in order?? Like your drawers or files." She asked
"No not rea…. " Andrea paused when she remembered that locker looked like it was tampered with but she didn't take it as something serious since she thought that she probably forgot to arrange it before leaving the previous day.
"Actually my office wasn't in a bit of a mess especially my locker and drawers this morning" she continued
"Annie just think was anyone looking suspicious this morning? Elisa asked her trying to narrow down the suspect list
"I don't really know Eli, I think I need time to think my head is mess right now, I will call you back" she said as she ended the call
"I pray everything turns out fine for you Annie" Elisa said worried for her.
"Liam, what is it I'm hearing ? The files got missing??" Theo asked as he stormed into his office.
"Yes Theo you heard right"
"So what are you doing about it, nothing and also is true you suspect Andrea and gave her 24hrs to get the files??
"Yes"
"What on earth is wrong with you Liam, you know deep down that she is not capable of something like that and yet you put her in a position like that..!!!" Theo said almost yelling at him.
"She wants my trust, then she has to earn it" Liam said as calmly as possible.
"So what's the plan" Theo asked knowing that no matter how cold and heartless he might seem, he's not the type to let someone suffer unjustly.
"Well, there's no plan" He said giving an unreadable expression
"Common now Liam, I know you too well to know that this is just a façade to keep the real Thief from knowing you're after them." Theo said trying yo get a grasp of the whole situation
"You know what, you might just be right but first let's see how fast she can think to save her job." Liam said with e devilish smirk.
"What if she's unable to catch the culprit by tomorrow, what will you do?
"Then she has to resign, I need someone with a sharp mind as my PA not one as blunt as a butter knife" Liam said
"In as much as I like your idea, I don't like the way you're using her Liam, just what has gotten into you" Theo said disappointed in his friend as he left the office.
"Someone suspicious today huh, just how all I see someone who was acting suspiciously today when I've not seen anyo….ne.." the rest of the word trailed off her lips when she remembered bumping in to Prisca today and she was in a hurry.
She did know when she started to recall the details of their meeting today. Amongst the files that fell on the floor, there was one that had 'contract file JJ company'. But what if I'm just overthinking what if she just happened to going through the file or it's her turn to evaluate it before sending it up.
What is I'm wrong, what if she's the culprit and behind all that pretty face is a deceitful person. Either ways I have to call it in, I'll tell him what I think and who I suspect, I just pray and hope I'm not wrong else I'm toast.
She walked straight to her boss's office to tell him who she think it is even without evidence. As she pushed open the door, a chill ran down her spine. The air inside seemed to vibrate with an ominous energy, like the moments before a storm breaks. Her boss sat behind his desk, his face a mask of granite, eyes gleaming like ice in the dim light. The shadows cast by the flickering lamp danced across his features, making him appear almost... malevolent.
She hesitated, her heart racing, as she stepped into the room. The silence was oppressive, heavy with unspoken threats. Her boss's gaze rose, pinning her with a cold, calculating stare. She felt like a small animal caught in the sights of a predator, frozen in terror.
Her voice caught in her throat as she tried to speak. Her eyes darted around the room, desperate for an escape from the suffocating aura that seemed to envelop her. But there was no escape. She was trapped, alone and vulnerable, in the presence of a man who seemed to embody darkness itself.
With a Herculean effort, she forced herself to meet his gaze, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I think I know who took the file," she stammered, her words tumbling out in a rush. Her boss's expression didn't change, but she sensed a subtle shift in his attention, a heightened interest that made her skin crawl. She felt like she was walking a tightrope, balancing precariously between revelation and annihilation.
