As the carriage rolled through the familiar paths leading to the dragon's lair, where Syrax and The Cannibal resided.
The lush greenery of the surrounding landscape blurred past the windows as the carriage pressed forward, the rhythmic clip-clop of hooves.
Finally, the carriage came to a stop near the entrance to the dragon's lair. William stepped out, his heart pounding with anticipation. The towering cliffs loomed overhead, their rugged beauty a testament to the ancient power that dwelled within.
Taking a deep breath, William made his way inside, the cool darkness enveloping him as he descended deeper into the cavernous depths. Torchlight flickered against the damp stone walls, casting eerie shadows that danced with every step.
And then, amidst the darkness, a pair of glowing eyes appeared. A low rumble reverberated through the cavern as the dragon emerged from the shadows, its massive form bathed in flickering torchlight.
A dragon with scales as dark as the abyss, shimmering with an eerie iridescence in the moonlight. Its eyes, glowing like burning coals, pierce through the darkness. Its massive wings stretch out, casting a shadow of dread over the land below. Razor-sharp claws adorn its taloned feet, each one capable of rending flesh with ease.
"Rytsas uēpa raqiros" (Hello, old friend) William greeted. The dragon regarded recongnizing him, its master calmed down.
Seeing this, without hesitation, William approached, reaching out to gently stroke the dragon's scaled hide. The creature rumbled contentedly, its bond with William evident in the way it leaned into his touch.
William tried to look for Syrax but it seems she was sleeping in a part deeper then where William was currently at.
So he decided to let her rest, and together with his dragon, they stood in the dragon's lair.
....
After a while, William knew it was time to depart. So, he climbed onto the dragon's back, settling into the saddle with practiced ease.
"Ivestragī's jikagon, issa raqiros" (Let's go, my friend) William spoke in Valyrian, the dragon, understanding his command, rumbled in response, nonetheless it stood up and its powerful muscles flexing beneath him.
With a mighty leap, the dragon unfurled its wings, their immense span casting a shadow over the cavern walls. With a powerful beat, they lifted into the air, the rush of wind whipping through William's hair as they ascended towards the cavern's entrance.
As they emerged into the open sky, the moonlight bathed them in its silvery glow, casting a surreal aura over their departure. With a final stretch of its wings, the dragon soared into the sky, leaving behind the confines of the dragon's lair.
