William, who was dressed in Baratheon sigiled clothes, with his cloak billowing in the sea breeze, walked towards the castle gates. The sturdy stone walls seemed to absorb the stories of battles fought and victories won, bearing witness to the unyielding strength of House Baratheon.
As he passed through the towering gates, the atmosphere changed. The courtyard, enclosed by thick walls, echoed with the distant sounds of soldiers in training and the occasional squawk of ravens. The castle, though formidable, carried an air of familiarity for William, who had spent time within its walls on numerous occasions.
Torchlight flickered against the cold stone walls, casting elongated shadows that danced with every step.
Finally, William reached the heart of Storm's End, where the Lord's chambers awaited. The doors creaked open, revealing a room adorned with tapestries depicting the Baratheon sigil and history.
Home sweet home.
His teacher, the man William had entrusted to manage Storm's End in his absence, stood waiting, his expression grave with concern. As William approached, Dex greeted him with a respectful nod.
"Ser William," Rakharo began, his voice carrying a sense of urgency. "I'm afraid urgent matters have arisen in your absence."
William's brow furrowed with concern. "What kind of urgent matters?"
Rakharo sighed heavily before continuing. "Bandits have been stirring trouble in our territory. Scouts, have seen them in Crow's nest causing unrest among the smallfolk."
William's jaw clenched as he processed the information. Bandits were a common nuisance, but their actions threatened the safety and stability of the region. It was imperative to deal with them swiftly.
"I'll be going alone,to deal with them swiftly."
Then after a pause, he continued. "And put an end to these bandits."
"Are you sure you don't want me to call the men?" Rakharo asked.
Hearing this William smiled and patted Rakharo's shoulder. He knew Rakharo was scared for his safety. As he treated him like his son. William then said: "I think I'm strong enough to kill some bandits."
"You don't have to worry about me, Rakharo."
Rakharo nodded, feeling a bit of ease.
"Prepare me a carriage to go to my dragon" Willaim said, which made Rakharo call a guard and relay the order.
And after that, minutes have passed. And a carriage was prepared. And William boarded it.
To see his dragon after a long time.
He had to admit he missed the grumpy guy.
