Chapter 60 - chapter 60

Time has passed since the birth of Malaevor. And he has grown, although he not a lot. But he still grew.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over King's Landing, Rhaenyra and William found themselves in the chamber they now shared with Malaevor. The baby lay in a cradle beside their bed, peacefully asleep. His soft breaths filled the room, a soothing lullaby to the parents.

Rhaenyra and William sat by the windows, the last rays of daylight filtering through the curtains. As they watched the city beyond, the bustling streets gradually settling into the quiet of the evening.

It started to become a habit for them.

The new parents were bathed in the soft, warm light, casting long shadows on the chamber's walls. Rhaenyra rested her head on William's shoulder, a tender and affectionate gesture that spoke of their deep bond.

"It's moments like these that make everything worth it," Rhaenyra said, her voice a whisper. "To have our child, to share this life together."

William's arm encircled Rhaenyra, pulling her closer. "I couldn't agree more," he replied, his eyes never leaving their son's peaceful face. "Malaevor's arrival has brought new meaning to our life."

In the quiet of the evening, the city outside continued to hum with its own stories and secrets. The Red Keep, a beacon of power and intrigue, loomed on the horizon, a constant reminder of the challenges that awaited them.

Rhaenyra turned her gaze from the window to William, her eyes filled with affection. "When he grows older, we should start training him."

William nodded, a smile on his lips. "I agree, and I'll be the one to do that."

Having agreed on that, they continued to watch the city below, the first stars of the evening began to twinkle in the darkening sky. Rhaenyra and William knew that the future will be rough, but in this moment, they were content to savor the peace and love that filled their chamber.

Malaevor stirred in his cradle, a soft murmur escaping his lips. Rhaenyra rose from her seat and approached their son. She gently cradled him, her touch reassuring. As she began to soothe him back to sleep, her lullabies filled the chamber, and Malaevor's tiny eyes fluttered shut once more.

In the deepening evening, the city of King's Landing settled into its nightly repose. Rhaenyra, William, and Malaevor, this new family, sat together in the chamber, bathed in the golden glow of love and shared dreams. The Iron Throne could wait, for in that moment, they wanted to cherish every single moment with Malaevor.
